It's hard to believe that the governing party is on the verge of losing this election to APC in Edo State

I don't like both parties but I see federal might playing out in this election

APC = Six
PDP = Half a dozen
Both brought suffering. Obaseki was APC in his first term before deporting to PDP in his second term. He is now crying rigging up and down.

Why?

Obaseki was Asue's albatross.

emkz:
Governor Obaseki seems to have problems keeping relationships. All politics is local. He should find a way to work with Dan Orbih of the legacy group and reach a common ground. Dan Orbih is a nice guy and had been in this game longer than Obaseki.

After taking out a full newspaper publication to lambast then Governor Wike, it is strange that Obaseki now goes to ask Wike to intercede on his behalf. It was even Obaseki's mouth that we heard Wike would be contesting the PDP presidential primaries and Obaseki threatened Wike with "we shall see".

This is the wrongest time to mend fences. Obaseki presents himself as a user. He ought to have reconciled with these people as soon as he won his second term, but he waited until he had use for them.

There is absolutely no political intelligence in such a move.

Asue Ighodosky, I advice you reach out to Dan Orbih, Wike and Ogbeide-Ihama and convince them on your own to show you wouldn't be a user like Obaseki. You are a good candidate but the Obaseki belligerent baggage is likely going to be your albatross.

Meet Wike and Dan Orbih and make concessions. You are a boardroom guru. Negotiation is obviously a piece of cake for you.

We want you as Edo Governor.

Nigeria is not yet ready to set the record straight. So after a failed federal government people are still voting for APC. What happened to LP?

Without federal might and monetizing voters , Apc can't win election anywhere in Nigeria. With electronic voting this rigging will be minimal

There was no federal might. Obaseki had too many enemies who messed him up. He didn't have a big politician on his side. He wanted a divided PDP to win elections. His deputy was impeached, he refused to sign peace accord, he called election do or die, he attempted to reconcile with Wike he had insulted: all in an election year. He set Asue up for this mess. I am not saying APC local might not have pulled strings, but if Obaseki had had strong men in all wards, they'd have checked APC.

They should go and sit down. For the first time, I like what's happening right now. Politicians are seen to be more powerful than God in this country. They go their own way once they get to power to do and undo without considering the opinion of the masses who put them there. I condemned how obaseki treated shuaibu, someone who's a grassroots politician and supported you all through the journey, even jettisoned his loyalty to his political mentor, in person of Oshiomohle. I have this man's number and I do call, just to tell him to listen to what the people are saying. He was my former client when he was still heading his company, afrinvest at ikoyi. He'd not pick my calls, he'd read my WhatsApp message and leave no words.

As if that wasn't enough, you ran to the pdp to contest and they gave you their backing, even asked the then candidate to step aside and allow you run under their ticket. You guys had an agreement which you didn't keep to, in the end. There are ways to appease your deputy, even if he's insisting on running for governorship and he'd listen. What obaseki did to that man was very bad and I hope politicians are already learning from this. Asue was brought up from nowhere, instead of picking his successor from among the pdp members he met in the party. Our politicians are so greedy.

What's happening in edo right now will definitely befall other politicians, regardless of the party they belong to. In as much as I'd have wanted the pdp to retain edo in view of the way the apc has messed up our economy at the federal level. May the new governor's tenure witness peace and prosperity in Edo. God bless Nigeria.
