liveLongNprospa:He pissed off touts like Kabaka and rogue politicians like Oshiomhole... Probably should have been more diplomatic especially with issues pertaining to the palace, but it's what it is, he'd be alright so too would Asue Ighodalo. The people who won't be alright are those who'd suffer misgovernance from the state and the federal government. |
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by liveLongNprospa(m): 9:54pm On Sep 22 |
Theflint1: OH no. Edo people are absolutely fvcked. Both federal and state fvcked. |

Theflint1: ...The civil service and pensioners might be the first hit,the 70k minimum wage they currently enjoying might be slashed back to 30k as no states is paying that officially.... On roads where obaseki failed, let's see if he would also neglect or leverage on APC at the center which has "anybody that votes for APC again in Ebonyi is right to do so" because Umahi works......If Federal roads no improve for Edo by 2027,we know who to drag for this thread |
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Theflint1(m): 11:08pm On Sep 22 |
Amigoss:The people that have been celebrating on the thread don't care whether roads get fixed or not, if you like drag them with the party's inevitable failure from today till tomorrow, dawan no concern them. Ask them now why they've been celebrating since morning and they'd tell you that they told you Tinubu knows how to build party more than any other politician...you'd tell them the man is building party at their expense, and the best you'd get from them is some incoherent babble Civil servants ate good under Obaseki, na dem go miss am pass...he did some good work in the education, entertainment, tourism, ICT and to some extent, health...you're right on him failing in road construction, he missed too many low hanging fruits, the sort of things that'd hit you in the face as pertains governance...his disregard for optics was always an issue, and probably the source of the many battles he found himself fighting. |

GloriousGbola: Payback. Buhari and his cabal rendered Oshiomhole powerless that year. |
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by GloriousGbola: 12:34am On Sep 23 |
raumdeuter: no difference between him and the LP 'supporters' here - who pretend to want good governance but could not even throw their weight and support behind their candidate even from the safety of the internet i wonder if they would have been celebrating four more years of continuity if asue had won . not as if their newly adopted principal [do or die obaseki] was good for anything outside of making noise for the camera. oh ok now i got it. |
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 2:43am On Sep 23 |
Theflint1: This ur assessment of Obaseki’s tenure in 2024 is quite in contrast what what u thought of him in 2022. Why? Did he suddenly achieve all of the bolded above within space of 2 years or what happened ? And u mentioned Godfatherism in ur 2022 post. Don’t u think Asue winning would’ve amounted to Godfatherism being entrenched by Obaseki who opposed it during his own tenure ? Theflint1: 8 Likes |

Amigoss: The problem with quoting you is that i don't even know where to begin. Who's your dog in this race? You no support Obaseki You no support Monday You no support Akpata But somehow, you can't wait to drag anyone here if Monday fails; as if anybody supported Monday here in the first place. I wanted Akpata to win. I will still laugh at Edolites if Monday provides Insecurity. You had the chance to at least lose honourably, and you all blew it because of what i don't know (You all here oh). Just pray Monday succeeds. I have not even started laughing yet. 3 Likes |

izzou: After a tortuous and calimitious 8years of Buhari and Tinubu was just confirmed president,We had the chance to limit his and Apc powers by collecting his stronghold(Lagos) and some states from him with Lp but people like you voted/supported APC in the disguise that they "performed" in Lagos and Ebonyi, now you want to laugh at Edo people,no bros you have no morals to do that.... The Minister of works no be your Mr "he performed at Ebonyi" again,Him alongside your alternate party in lagos and states they "perform" now has the duty to fix edo roads which we cuss obaseki for, else you go follow for the dragging.... BlueRayDick:2022 to 2024 is a long time, overtime got more informed on where he was channeling his effort towards and personally had reason to visit health facilities and government ministries in the state. When I made mention of streetlights et al...that's what I mean by the low-hanging fruits...street lights, a clean looking city, roads, landscaping...the sort of things that would immediately strike you in the face when you come to a city to make you feel like work's being done here. Those are very important, so too are the things he chose to channel energy towards, I just think he should have found a way to sort of balance things, but he didn't seem to be someone that cared how he was perceive, just wants to do focus on what he wants to focus on. Obaseki's first tenure was him having to go through the sort of SIM Fubara situation, so maybe you can say there was too much going on for him to really implement his ideas properly, so in a sense his government sort of kicked off in his second term. |
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Theflint1(m): 7:16am On Sep 23 |
BlueRayDick:Obaseki would have never successfully pulled off godfather, he didn't have the streets on chokehold enough to do that. Besides if e wan do Godfather, is it with a candidate that's roughly same age as him, arguably more accomplished professionally, and better perceived and like than him, that even those that campaigned against AI are still having to make clear that they have no issues with him per se, their issues were with Obaseki. Asue Ighodalo was supposed to be a continuation of Edo accomplished professionals taking reins of the affairs of the state (Obaseki - AI), that's what it looked like, and that's what Obaseki said too, even some of the Edo's I saw online sticking their necks out for AI solidified that impression. |
