I worked partly in Edo State many years back. Those people are sophisticated and would resist imposition.

(1) When Tinubu asked them to vote against Obaseki in 2020, they voted for Obaseki because they were irritated that an outsider was instructing them how to vote.

(2) Don't ever go into dispute with their king or be seen to be undermining their king. He is a god to them. When Bobrisky entered Benin and made an unflattering comment against their king, Bini citizens ordered Bobrisky not to sleep in their state. The person who invited him had to beg and apologize because they were coming for her. Bobrisky had to leave.

(3) Do not ever insult anyone you consider inconsequential. If you undermine somebody, they'd gravitate towards the person just to spite you.

(4) If they don't like you, they won't hide it. If someone works against you when they don't like you, they won't fight for you. They are usually hospitable, and generally like people until you take them for granted.

(5) You say with finality that the results would be disputed. Do you know if PDP gathered evidence to upturn the election? Assuming one party did tricks, don't you think they'd cover their tracks? The best way to avoid these things is to have men on ground to ensure they blocked all the attempts. Unfortunately, Obaseki did not have politicians and grassroots men on ground to resist such moves. I like your matured response and usually read your objective articles on Nairaland, however I can say categorically that the feedback I got from Edo yesterday was that the PDP results were manipulated significantly.

Like you also pointed out it's better Edo people resist such impositions because if Edo people really wanted to show Obaseki their stuff, the sympathy votes should have gone to LP and not APC.

A party that moved all it's arsenal to Edo just to get a Gubernatorial Victory.

Haba ! Edo people are not known to take the worst from the best.

A man that cannot articulate his policy clearly becomes the Governor of an ancient city reputed to have even birthed kingdoms in Nigeria.

In all you never said the celestial church pastor was wrong or right.

I was just proving a point made by a pastor in a popular Yoruba own church and come to think of it, was Pastor Tunde Bakere wrong when he said in a video that he was invited to a meeting where the were planning to destroy Igbos property?
