Libya has 9 million people and produces about 1.6 million barrels of crude per day Nigeria has 260 million people and produces 1.5 million barrels per day Libya has a better per Capita income from oil than Nigeria Also Libya has a massive fuel smuggling problem that has gotten to the point where their air force is bombing smugglers |

CodeTemplarr: First of all did they tell you that Libya subsidizes fuel? The answer is No, the truth here is that the so called subsidy we pay is laced in scam, let us analyse the costs paid in subsidy and you will see the fraud behind the subsidy. It is a shame that a war torn libya is selling high grade gasoline at a low cost, while peaceful Nigeria cannot produce cheap fuel. Try and be sensible and spell reasonable very well. 1 Like |

CodeTemplarr: Yes because at that time the exchange rate was better and these useless hidden costs that FG claims to subsidize would be removed, because that is where the real fraud is committed. It is so strange that Tinubu claimed subsidy was removed but the landing cost is still high due to unexplained hidden costs which spike the landing costs. Truly there is no reason why fuel should be higher than 400 Naira. |

CodeTemplarr: show me where i said he was my messiah!!! this the stupidity you guys exhibit that irritates me. This exchange was govt undoing. how can you float a currency when your fuel imports gulps a large percentage of your FX and the FX supply is scarce. when you leave you currency to the whims and caprices of demand and supply forces and there is high demand for FX, what did you think will happen to your local currency? Oga please be sensible and stop all this partisan statements. |

Olatara:Don't be stupid Libyan companies pay higher than Nigeria companies in every sector. I even know a footballer who play in Al-Ithiad Libya and earns 15M Nigeria money per month. Libya is far better than Nigeria for legit migrants even with its political instability. Nigeria is a failed state when compared to Libya right now |
Re: Petrol Is ₦52/Litre In Libya by nairalanda1(m): 10:27am On Sep 23 |
Kind of humorous , the way Nigerians dey look at LIbya. A country that has more per capita income from oil revenue compared to Nigeria, and thus can afford to subsidise fuel even to N10 per liter. If you want subsides in NIgeria, then we should find a way to add 20 billion dollars to our current budget, and use it to pay for subsidy. Otherwise, you are joking. NIgeria's economy is badly run largely because APC Is not making more money for the economy, and is misusing the little money we do have. Even if there was no corruption, there is no way we can pay for subsides at the level of Libya. Make we face reality o. But instead, most here will shout that 'you be oppressor' like robots. Agbado is another insult they know. Cornfused people. |
Re: Petrol Is ₦52/Litre In Libya by nairalanda1(m): 10:39am On Sep 23 |
OKay for jols...assuming oil prices are 71 dollars per barrel for this year Libya will earn 35 billion dollars from oyel Nigeria will earn 44 billion dollars from oil LIbya oil percapita (assuming 9 million people) is aprox 3900 dollars per person NIgeria is...169 dollars per person. 69% of that 169 dollars is going for debt service. That is why Nigeria can't afford subsides like Libya. But no, they will abuse and throw tantrums and call names....because they don't want to hear. Truth is bitter FCK APC. |

What a shame! Nigeria, just big and most populous for nothing. Tiny Singapore is so highly developed with a Wealth Index twice higher than that of the overhyped US. If not for stupid idiotic religious and ethnic sentiments, why should Nigeria keep retrogressing instead of progressing, after almost 70 years of independence. With the abundant natural and human resources, why should Nigeria not match up with the Asian Tigers which include Singapore. Thank God the hailers of Jagaban are weeping and complaining louder than the haters. |
