Again look at the arguments from Amigoss on its own merit without attachment to Theflint1's.

Both Theflint1 and izzou are the same.
They can both argue the reason they voted other party people but the end is they didn't vote credible LP candidates

Why do u want to disregard Theflint's argument when it was obviously what spurred this whole conversation?

Like u don't really know the length Theflint had to go to defend supporting GRV with his various baggages?

Below is Theflint defending the expose on GRV that he called his fellow Yorubas A-fonja

Theflint1:
A-fonja has a particular connotation, agreed, but the context in which he used A-fonja matters more than anything else. GRV is a Yoruba ethnic nationalist and the word A-fonja though used as a slur, can and is used by some Yoruba's to tackle Yoruba's they believe are standing against the interests of the Yoruba ethnic group as a whole.

The contexts in which he used these words matter more than anything else, GRV has not shied away from who he is, a Yoruba ethnic nationalist.

Theflint practically excused any inadequacies of GRV pointed out during the election beacuse he was LP candidate. He gave the kinda conviction that makes u think this guy is LP come rain come shine. But e reach Edo state he saw the inadequacies of Akpata's candidature. Why?

Na my own concern be that, nothing more.

I voted Sanwo-Olu because he performed. It's as simple as that

Flint complained about Obaseki. Infact, he said Obaseki won 2nd term just to spite Oshiomole, not because he did anything.

The issue here is not about about LP winning. It is about the better candidate, and so far Akpata was him.

My first post here after the election was that I wanted Akpata to win because if a system fails, it should be changed

Don't jump into a discussion to change what i said.

Akpata has gone for Thanksgiving, and i joined him online.

Obidients for Asue should keep wailing online about INEC, APC, LPC, Weather issues, and every irrelevant excuse they can find.

On Akpakomiza's mandate we shall stand.

But the end of it is this.

Both people voted candidates outside LP candidates.
Both LP candidates very credible.
Both decisions have consequences for people.
It's that simple.
It's left for them to defend their reasons

Again this is not Amigoss point.
Follow the argument boss

There's no argument that can absolve a registered party agent in Lagos state voting against his party in his own home state.

Which is why I called it excuses.

Amigos is making an excremental argument that anybody can vote for whoever they like for whatever reasons. The underlying logic is true- but when examined within the true context of theflint1's behaviour falls woefully flat.

You cannot spend the better part of a year shouting LP top to bottom online, going as far as registering as an LP agent in Lagos state, pushing a tribalist agenda Lagosians who didn't want GRV, only for you to go and vote against a party you are literally registered with in your own home state. grin grin grin

Neither one of these men believe Obaseki performed, so any argument based on obaseki vs sanwo olu is an execrable distraction

Amigoss:
If we are going after politicians,I wan make dem leave obaseki for me one on one.....Ancestrally he is from my LGA but politically he is from Oredo....

The one and only road to our hometown and village, this bastardt no do am....he dey mount signboard saying "bear with us,this is a federal govt road"...wtf!!! The little better parts of the road was done and supervised by oshiom-OLE and not FG...no standard amenities, no impact and presence of govt or one of your son being the governor of Edo been felt in the LGA .....what a slowpoke!!! Just paid salaries and pensions to cover his ineptitude and fraudulent tendencies

Theflint1:
Politicians are a bummy lot.

I know for a fact that Osagie-Ize Iyamu, the APC candidate would have robbed the state blind. Obaseki wasn't great in his first tenure, but Edo State choosing to give him a second chance was us rejecting Godfatherism and giving him the benefit of doubt given the many issues Oshiomhole gave him in his first tenure.

Obaseki hasn't done enough in Edo State, but at least he's improved the states financial position from where Oshiomhole left it. Hopefully the next governor builds on the little he's done.

The street lights were on when Oshiomhole was leaving, surprised the city slipped into darkness when Obaseki took over
, as e don come back, e reach celebrate grin.

Well, you said "For him", so i can live with that.

Obaseki’s failure is well documented by even the Obidients for Asue. I was surprised to see him owing 5 years pension..Someone that ruled for 8.

Or should we compare Sanwo and Obaseki?

This matter is already closed. Monday don win.

Make dem go sit down abeg, and stop explaining their decisions
It's sad that governance is so far removed from us the citizens that we're not able to accurately judge performance of governors vis a vis the resources available for them to work.

Lagos is and has always been Nigeria's most foremost city, it was before Tinubu and would likely continue to be so. Lagos compared to other major cities in its category within Africa or even West Africa would rank bottom on most government controlled indices of governance. Let's say we even break it down to state-level, is Lagos' government policy around education, waste management, healthcare, irrigation, flooding, urban planning, transportation and others?

How effective is governance in Lagos? The governor of a New York would always engage in more flamboyant and bigger projects than the governor of say a Kentucky, Idaho or Arkansas, does than necessarily make them better than the governors in these other states?

I mean Tinubu was governor same time as Donald Duke, I visited the place almost 12 years after he left office and I could still get a feel of a sanitation and town-planning policy that worked, even though the governors that came after weren't as effective as he was in that regard. I'm sure people here would say LAWMA was better than whatever Donald Duke had in place simply because LAWMA is better known and marketed.

These sort of nuance and demand for efficiency in governance was the message of GRV, and he's stayed consistent with this message, and that's why I gave him my support.
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Theflint1(m): 9:39am On Sep 24

I think the only reason why they are hounding Theflint is because he kept on preaching the gospel of "vote LP top-to-bottom" even when it was pointed out that aside from riding on the wave of OBIdients movement, GRV was not all that. Just like Olumide had his baggage of issues, GRV had his too and Theflint still insisted on supporting him because he's running on LP.

If Theflint had said he's supporting Asue because izzou supported Sanwoolu, I don't think people would've made much fuss about the motive behind his support for Asue.
Where is this proof of me giving "top to bottom" as reason for supporting GRV? I can get accusation of top to bottom for candidates I don't know, not those I know enough.

If there's proof of me saying top to bottom as reason for supporting GRV, I'd like to see it.

I did not mention Oshiomole when I was tackling Obaseki

Judge Sanwo-Olu from the Lagos he met till now.

Na LP for sanwo pain me pass cos they started the trend,if they didnt sell out and LP won Lagos like presidency,APC will be weak cos no financing from lagos,The accredited voters who didn't turn up to vote which are mostly Lp voters will be motivated,LP for Asue and flint would be insignificant

LPC is just a little less dangerous than pure APC.

Theflint1 own dey obvious.
Amigoss own is simple.
Sanwo-Olu has enough baggage for him to not have been voted by you. LP had a credible candidate like GRV who is people centric and knows his onions and you overlooked that and empowered apc by giving them Lagos which is practically their financial powerhouse to win other elections.
So for him, your decision has far more reaching consequences than Theflint1's decision.

Again just calling it like I see it.

How can you be a registered LP agent in Lagos election, and vote against LP on your own state?

How? cheesy
Simple, LP stood no chance in Edo State, we can't even say the party as is today has an ideology even, so you can't make the argument that I'm voting against my ideologies.

A candidate getting 3% of votes cast was never in running, the next best thing was the PDP candidate, and he got my support.

PDP failed..Your post and that of others is well documented.

And then, the same PDP is your next best option to get the same good governance that they didn't provide?

I'm just hearing this talk of Obaseki owing pensioners for 5 years. My mum is a pensioner and every 25th, without fail her alert dey enter, even 13th month dey clear for them. Obaseki pays the highest minimum wage, and was doing so even before the FG implemented it.

It's always the people that have zero bearing with the state that are quick to say Obaseki failed. The man did not do enough, he could have done better, but he did something, and I'd say he's been the best governor since 1999.
