When u see people like this fabric chef capping like this, just know that they don't have anything figured out. They practically have no idea of what they are taking about.

There's no how she will pay electricity bill, transport fare, feed, buy toiletries and provisions, fill gas, make provisions for rent etc out of 250k salary and still save 100k monthly.

We have not even talked about dressing moderately well to work o
Transport, NEPA and feeding alone don chop 150K, and that na with serious managing...maybe outside Lagos sha, e fit fly.

Even outside Lagos sef ; she won't survive with that amount in major cities like PHC, Abuja, etc.

The problem with people like that is they do not have the mental capacity to sit and actually calculate their expenses before making such assumptions. Na when u provide them that same job for 250k, leave to earn for 12 months, then ask her for her 1.2m savings after 1 year u will start hearing stories and excuses.

He could do all these because he was governor, as soon as his tenure finished he'd have lost the ability to do anything remotely close, at best he'd just be absorbed into PDP caucus and been causing problem for their Wike dem.

You get, like actually sitting down to figure out where their money is going, or where it'd go once they start earning is problem for a lot of Nigerian's...we don't have a personal finance culture here, probably because the economy is hardly predictable, so what's the point.

If he was able to win despite fighting all these people then what remains? His boy will be in govt and doing his 3rd term

This is 2018. Nobody paid Jonathan Oddi any attention then. It makes you wonder how many statements and documentary evidence have been filed by the Feds.

How many banks are in small towns? How many of the staff in those banks are full staff and not contract staff?

Probably the bank manager and one other staff will be full staff while the rest of them are contract staff that will never earn up to that 250k.

1.2m monthly is hardly even enough to live comfortably.

Well, as a female in Nigeria it might be possible to survive on 250k salary and even save from it. Females only though.......

Funny enough, a lady's needs far outweighs a guy's needs all things being equal. I mean if u have a lady who is single and has no support cast like boyfriend/husband/sugar daddy or real biological father ; her needs will surely outweigh a single guy's own. That is assuming the guy too doesn't send money to any girlfriend or pay black tax to his relatives..

The amount ladies spend on making their hairs, paint their nails, is way higher than what we spend on cutting our hair and looking good.

Their salary is irrelevant because most of the time they have people who'll take care of those things. They won't have to touch their salary. I'm sure the lady that made that tweet had this in mind when she made that post.

In addition to this, you neva even talk the level of degradation in quality of life that comes when you're not living in or around the city centre.

Check most of our states out, if you're not in the city center, you'd find it incredibly difficult to access basics needed to live a wholesomely ...Nigeria just dey generally fvcked sha, cause our big cities are planned too poorly and ill-optimized for the things that make normal family life possible, and our small cities without all these planning problems (yet) are essentially ghost towns grin

Minority, yeah. Women in Nigeria really have things easy, although most don't seem to appreciate the efforts men put in to make them happy. That's probably why the ones that migrate to the west find it difficult adjusting at first.

By the way, is there any Asian country one can retire to with 25-30m?

It’s interesting how certain amounts can feel substantial in Nigeria, yet you hear they can be spent in just a few months elsewhere.

Is that how fvcked up we have become? A friend retired to Vietnam with a far less amount back in 2019. I have lost his contact so no way to reach him now if not I would've made inquiries from him.

Exactly.

U will see one bank serving 2 large local governments in some parts of the country. Where I served ehn, If u want to use the bank it is almost a day's job. U have to leave ur village before 7am, get to the bank almost 8am and stay on ATM queue for hours before it gets to ur turn. This is simply because people come from two different local governments that consist of several villages just to use the Firstbank that is the only bank that really works in the whole area. There are two other banks but they don't always have cash grin. If u have reason to see customer care, then u may not leave the bank until maybe 3pm that day. Which degradation in quality of life pass that one?

It's not even that sef, people just want to be hypocrites and not get called out.

See Izzou that supports LP presidential then APC governorship
You that would support LP presidential then pass on governorship
Oyindamola that would support LP presidential then APC or PDP governorship
Disstroy that would support LP presidential, APC Lagos state, PDP Akwa-Ibom, or even APC Akwa-Ibom if the state so aligns
Or is it the many other people that LP candidates didn't win their home states and you ddidn't see them marketing LP candidates either?

But lemme support LP presidential, LP Lagos, but PDP Edo and hell will be raised cheesy

Are you will to bet on deactivating your account if I show on-Nairaland and off-Nairaland evidence of me opposing the candidature of the PDP governorship candidate (who is currently the Governor of my state)?

Are you willing to bet the active status of your account if I show you evidence of me critiquing the former Governor Udom Emmanuel and opposing the incumbent because I'm opposed to Godfatherism?

Are you willing to bet on my ability to show evidence that the LP Governorship candidate was refusing to campaign, lacked the pedigree while hoping to ride on the Peter Obi wave to power?

Are you willing to bet on me showing you quoted on-Nairaland evidence of me stating the APC Governorship candidate was my second favourite because he had the pedigree (even though he was PDP until three months to the election because the PDP Primaries were skewed and influenced by the then Governor)?

Are you willing to bet on my ability to show you WhatsApp screenshots of me rejecting advances to support the PDP candidacy?

Do you want to read on-Nairaland posts of me assessing the current Governor while stating I didn't vote for him?

I campaigned for and voted my conscience across board. And in the Presidential campaign, I and mine supported financially in our own everyday citizens' way (with screenshots which I have uploaded right on this thread and are still up).

Comparing PDP to APC should be a floggable offense. You can call PDP leaders thieves and what not, but you have to agree with me that PDP would've never been this bad.

The day I knew Nigeria was done for was when Nigerians refused to vote Atiku.
Atiku is the only person that could've salvaged the country.

"DissTroy supported LP Presidential and voted PDP governorship..." Not everyone is like you. I have been very consistent on many things for years on and off this platform. I didn't vote any of the candidates with a hovering Godfather. I still would never. I'd rather not vote. Unlike you, I don't vote ethnicity or senatorial district or vote based on clannishness.

This exchange happened on this thread.

DissTroy:

Not to defend him but he was referring to replicating massively what Donald Duke did in Cross River with tourism in Akwa Ibom. Plans have already even begun for Ibom Carnival from the rumours I've heard, like the Calabar Carnival.

The Governor-elect is in the tourism sector. A hotelier with about 27 hotels spread across various states under the Royalty brand.

I'm not his biggest fan but what he said was deliberately misconstrued by the opposition that's why you'd see clips.
I'd have preferred two other candidates, the APC guy being one of them based on antecedence.
