I’m writing a history book, and I have tried and not been successful at finding any renowned Ibos written about in precolonial West African history. I have numerous exemplary examples from Yorubas and Hausas. Please no tribalism. Any Igbos willing to help out? I’ll make sure I send you a copy of my book once completed.

Also, Jaja of Opobo was not Igbo.

I will give one. When he wrote a book about his life in London in 1795, not even the man who created Nigeria, Frederick Lugard, had been born. He is one of the greatest historical figures to come out of Africa in the last 200 years

His name is Olaudah Equiano

No renowned Igbo figure in precolonial West African history.

The only thing they are known for is about how they decimated themselves during the Biafra war.

They have been known to run away from responsibilities

You'll be fine

@OP I doubt you'd get any answers here.. majority of those that are supposed to help you are fixated on Lagos and Yorubas, how Lagos Yorubas should fight other Yorubas and how to divide Yorubas along religious line so they can push their evil agenda on Lagos and annex the State as biafra outpost..
Majority of them don't know their history and do not care. If care is not taken, their language too will go extinct soon just like their history.

Coming from someone that says Jaja of Opobo is not an Igbo man, you must have been writing a nonsense book that should never be published.

The reverse is actually the case
This thread is an evidence.
Out of the over 200 tribes in Nigeria according to you people it is only igbos you want to research on when you have not researched on your own tribe.
I never knew that yorubas are going to take this their dick measuring contest to precolonial era.

You are not serious with your last statement. If Jaja is not an Igbo where was he from?

Opobo and Bonny were established by Igbo traders most of the communities in Opobo, Bonny and Okirika were established by Igbo chiefs. If you will be bias like this it show that you are not ready to get any information.
