I'm trying to decide which one between UBA and PRESCO would give better total returns with reference to current price over the next 2years in both capital appreciation and dividends. From the last two FY dividends payout ratio of 68-80%, PRESCO is predicted to pay over N50 for 24FY. Historical payout ratio might not work for banks in this era of currency devaluation, but N3-4 might be very conservative for UBA. Both look very ripe for capital appreciation either after announcement of interim dividends or later. 1 Like |

emmanuelewumi: My exact thoughts. Shareholders should team up and speak with one voice in that court ordered meeting. N100 or no shareholders approval! That company is way more valuable than N100 even; but as we can now see, it’s been years of deceit with very high turnover and poor net profit every year just to stifle the share price. Just imagine the fact that just one subsidiary of this same company was granted power license. That’s how massive the company is! I do not have it at all as I dumped the stock years back since it would never move beyond N30 then. I just feel for the shareholders who have been cheated all these years and now about to be dumped. Exact same scenario I painted about companies depending on minority shareholders to raise capital and after the company becomes a solid asset, they dump the same shareholders in the name of delisting. It has happened again and will not stop any time soon. In all your investing, my people stay awake for companies under insincere management. 5 Likes |

What is going on in FBNH? Since last year one is yet to receive the paltry dividend the approved. When other banks are getting ready to pay interim. |

OakPearl: If we have shareholders presidents here. They should speak out in agreement and they will subdue the management. I'm willing to participate in the vote process virtually because there will be real fight and you can only fight with your voice through your large holdings in FMN if not nothing will change Union Bank, FORTE etc paid out peanuts and nothing happened |
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by mikeapollo: 9:34am On Sep 25 |
stcool: Wow. FMN seems to have obtained the requisite approvals, pending shareholders vote at the AGM. A key difference between FMN and Oando's case is that the SEC did not give its ''No Objection'' response to Oando, an indication that they would reject the delisting |

Most likely companies like this excelsior shipping would have taken up the opportunity this CBN capital raise exercise presented to buy banks like FCMB and the others for cheap. Retail investors look hesitant picking up the undervalued shares of the banks . https://doclib.ngxgroup.com/Financial_NewsDocs/FMN_-_PRESS_RELEASE_ON_SCHEME_OF_ARRANGEMENT.pdf 1 Like |
