You're saying you will drive for 60km in 1hr 48mins and burn just 6litres on a Toyota camry

Well I don't support going illegal cos of the excuse that things are hard. Any day I work full day I net minimum 40k after fuel and commission. This ur analysis isn't correct, the default calculation is that u make min 50% profit on every trip after commissions and fuel.
I think Bolt and Uber are trying to find an equilibrium between an affordable price for Riders and a profitable price for Partners. I still drive to see for myself so nobody is giving me bobo and I am not telling u what someone said.
Therefore, it's just greed, corrupt mindset and unprofessionalism to try to fleece the App companies of their dues. Sometimes they are very generous to give attractive bonuses, instead of cheat the system, why not work and get the bonus. Last month and early this month they were practically dashing 10k daily for just 7 trips without conditions. Last week and the week before they gave 50k/42k for 50/40 trips in a week depending on your category.
So even if one is tight on profit, those bonuses can help u with fuel. What more can they do to help, no be them be ur govt o.
Without the Bonus, and u are not an ant, u can earn 25-30k daily without upending anyone. It's not millionaire standard but that's 150-180k in a week and over 600k in a month. U think this isn't enough?

It's easy for drivers to say fuel went up 3X so fares should go up triple too or app companies should slash commission ignoring the fact that it's an ecosystem where riders app companies and drivers feed off each other, remove one and the system will collapse. Meanwhile all three arms are suffering from the same economic blows.

When did doing the right thing become wrong.. coupled with high rate of insecurity in the nation.. so many things can go wrong on an offline trip, and it might not even be of your own doing….

I picked up a lady from a guy house one day like that, not knowing the idiot boyfriend already used abortion pill for the lady, the lady was bleeding in my car and fainted at the back, when I got to the destination, (I am not the chatty type of driver) so I didn’t know what was going on at the back till I got to destination), Me: I will be ending the trip now ? No response.

To cut the story shot, I had to drive the girls brother back to the guy House,( they pounced on me with emotion at first, my app saved me ) he was arrested, proceed to police station for reports, before I was allowed to leave.. imagine it the other way round.

See, either offline or online, if anything goes south, you're a suspect to whatever it is, online won't save you from the mess cox bolt will never show up to save you from whatever mess you find yourself...

Online isn't guaranteed for safety, the prayer is not to jam problem...

This makes me remember my friend that was arrested in igando some years back, he carried some guys, they were 4 in numbers, in the afternoon and police stopped him to search his car, while he stopped for searching, those guys just ran away, they were able to catch 2 of them and they found gun on them, my friend was arrested despite showing them its an online trip, to cut the story short, my friend involved lawyer and they took him to ikeja, he spent about 3 weeks in police custody before they later let him go with a payment of 450k.

So, whether it's an online or offline, it doesn't guarantee any safety, both for driver and rider, if you want to argue it, what's the difference between indrive trip and offline trip.

The only thing online trip can do is to be able to track your last ride, but whatever that will happen to you, either the driver or the rider would have happened.

A Camry is a wrong tool for the job no doubt but for someone who uses it what choice does he have?

You may say to sell and get another
And I ask how viable is that?

Remember prices of other cars are now over the bar

I no go even talk Honda accord matter

Sometimes, I laugh when people say their car will do 10km/litre and 10litres will cover 100km distance.

Addo road to airport will take at least 7litres without traffic but I know some people will say their car will go that far with 5litres of fuel...

The last time I worked was on Sunday. My only problem is the insignificant increase in ride fares.

When fuel rose to 500plus the price on bolt to vi from my axis was 10k-11k without surge o formerly it was like 7-8k
Now fuel is now almost 1000/l, I was so surprised when that same Sunday I did a trip from my area to ikate on the island for 13k on bolt. And that was the damn estimate it showed when the trip showed on my phone and this was a trip I wanted to convert to offline but since it was an elderly woman I didn't have strength to start explaining what i mean by offline et al

It was after we started moving the woman said I thought you will do it offline and I asked why, she said that's what almost all drivers that carries her asks cos of the fuel increase

See, majority of drivers now do offline, myself, I don't like engaging riders for offline but the situation is so bad that the only option i see to go home with small money is to do offline, in most of my cases, people I've been carrying on offline aren't hagard looking people and I always follow my instinct, infact, yesterday, I was supposed to carry someone from VI to airport, immediately I click on phone call and saw the person is a Ghanaian, I knew the person will not agree to offline and I already made up my mind if the person didn't agree to offline, I will cancel and wait for another trip, I can't do VI to airport for 10k online while I will use at least 3 to 4 litres coz it's closing time and Bolt will tale 2500 from the 10k and will be left with 7500, now remove 4k for fuel and my gain will be 3500.

This is a trip that will probably take 1hour...

So whose fault is it if you use V6 engine to do transportation business?

I will gladly do a 20k trip for 2hrs. So if I work 10hrs I make 100k. Even if I use 30k fuel (which is very unlikely) and pay commission 25k I go home with 45k.

However u want to twist it, 18k for Addo to Airport is not bad at all. Sometimes we suppose dey ask ourselves shey I fit pay this money wey I dey demand from other people

Nobody is saying because fuel went up 3X so fares should go up triple too

But remember there was a time 2k fuel will net 8k comfortably (profit is x4 of running cost).

When fuel rose to 500+, 10k fuel gives 25k net (that's X2.5 of running cost)

Now fuel is 950/l, 10k fuel gives 20k net. (that's X2 of running cost)
Can you see the steady dwindle in profit on the same hustle using the same tool??

Just imagine when fuel hits 1400 or 1500 maybe then 10k fuel will give you 15k net. That's 5k profit excluding fuel and commission

What do I tend to gain in cooking a story, I'm this kind of person that will never lie for any form of credibility. If negative thing go happen, online can't save you and that's a fact, I've carried a rider to magodo some years back that said a bolt driver robbed her of her properties and it was an online trip, infact, she reported to extent Linda ikeji invited her over regarding the case but she said she declined it coz she doesn't have that strength and time for court case, this is an online trip that could probably enrich the lady if she slam bolt lawsuit but did the online guarantee her safety; NO, so whatever that will happen, whether online or offline will definitely happen, online will only give you the edge to track the perpetrator. I know you won't agree with me and I don't need you to, I will only say the fact and what I know.

Lastly, I've observed you feel you're the only 1 who knows the apps better than everyone else and you don't like when someone disagrees with you on matter concerning the app.

However, if the ehailing coys wants to continue with their present pricing template then maybe they should create a category for riders to choose from

A: Cars without AC, Bluetooth, no preference to dents whose duty is just to move from point a to b for these current prices. There will be no complain everybody is happy
B: Cars that properly fit into the ehailing concept AC, Bluetooth and neat, option for number of riders or riders with loads with commensurate prices

In these cases, riders can now pay for what they get
Remember ehailing is supposed to be a luxury service.
