So someone who owns a Camry, Volvo or accord, that was probably gotten through hp should sell it and go and hawk gala in the sun or venture into a 9-5 job

Help me understand bros

I never said so.
XGhost is using Volvo and has told u his margins,
Barbiturate uses Muscle has told us he buys 20k fuel to make 40k Net.
Accord and Muscle are same.
So all things being equal Volvo, Camry and Accord users are still making profit.

So u which car are u using that u are not making profit?
Next question, whose fault is it if you aren't making profit??

My argument is the profit margin has decreased significantly

For example if I get a 15k long trip from my house, when I get to the destination, I will now have to wait for long hours for something juicy to pop up or opt to join them doing fastest fingers and be burning fuel with little profit just to meet up?

The thing is I run a business. And I am a Business Analyst.
I have an holistic idea of how these things go, so when I put on my entrepreneur hat, I might sound like a company man or establishment man. Don't get it twisted, I still drove on Sunday.

For example, see this trip
I guess pearl or xghost will comfortably run this trip using 6l of fuel for that amount

So whose fault is it if you use V6 engine to do transportation business?

I will gladly do a 20k trip for 2hrs. So if I work 10hrs I make 100k. Even if I use 30k fuel (which is very unlike) and pay commission 25k I go home with 45k.

However u want to twist it, 18k for Addo to Airport is not bad at all. Sometimes we suppose dey ask ourselves shey I fit pay this money wey I dey demand from other people

It is not by asking ourselves if we can pay all this money we asking this riders, can you enter club and spend 100k on a drink that cost 25k outside, I believe you can't but are people not buying it and even spending more than that? I believe you will agree with me that those people buying those expensive drinks at outrageous prices places value on the club but why can't they place value on our service too, nah from this work I dey hear oloso dey negotiate with someone on phone say to carry am nah 1m while the guys they beg for 750k but this same oloso will say VI to osapa London is too much for 5k...

See, just because you feel the money they are charging this riders is too much doesn't mean drivers should work and work and see nothing from it.

Day before yesterday which was Monday, I was so lucky, the 2 trips I did, I did them offline and both gave me 36k, from mushin to Thomas estate 18k and from Abraham adesanya to airport 18500 and both riders were even happy to do it offline cox that also give them the edge they aren't paying more than what we agreed.

I'm not encouraging offline tho but the situation warrant it, it's the only way you can work and go home with something.

Other things you need to factor into this earnings is your feedings, maintenance, data, and co.

Do you know that if this price continues like this, no driver will be able to afford common follow come hub if their hub spoils today.

Let me just give you answer to your conclusion cox I know you're a deeply mistrusting person.

I don't have previous logsheet cox 1; I have changed my phone and I lost backups, 2; they don't give us logsheet anymore since they stopped deducting our money when car doesn't meet up with the required benchmark. But I will check my PDF documents and see if I can find any from the previous months.

Reason why I said this Sept. So I can request my own and plead with the manager to share other contractors own too...

See, either offline or online, if anything goes south, you're a suspect to whatever it is, online won't save you from the mess cox bolt will never show up to save you from whatever mess you find yourself...

Online isn't guaranteed for safety, the prayer is not to jam problem...

This makes me remember my friend that was arrested in igando some years back, he carried some guys, they were 4 in numbers, in the afternoon and police stopped him to search his car, while he stopped for searching, those guys just ran away, they were able to catch 2 of them and they found gun on them, my friend was arrested despite showing them its an online trip, to cut the story short, my friend involved lawyer and they took him to ikeja, he spent about 3 weeks in police custody before they later let him go with a payment of 450k.

So, whether it's an online or offline, it doesn't guarantee any safety, both for driver and rider, if you want to argue it, what's the difference between indrive trip and offline trip.

The only thing online trip can do is to be able to track your last ride, but whatever that will happen to you, either the driver or the rider would have happened.

I understand your POV and my response is not to say itโ€™s irrelevant.

.but if that ride was offline.. he might end up in jail with them and wonโ€™t be able pay that amount that was illegally collected from him.. he paid the price for a very corrupt policing system, if it was offline, it might be difficult to prove his innocence.

The one doing 7.2km/l is my camry while the one doing 7.7km/l is the Corolla.

You can check their distances and all, I would have loved to share the PDF with you on whatsapp but it's confidential and I'm a high discreetly person when it comes to things like this...

If it was offline, he will still be released and pay probably that same amount, it's all about doing investigation, and I believe through the investigation, police will find out he's just a driver and have nothing to do with the guys...

I've done many offline where police will stop us and ask me if it's Uber, I will just say yes, they don't ask to show them the trip details online or anything.

Trust me, the very first thing police ask whenever they stop a car is if it's Uber, if you answer NO, and they find something on the guys, that's where you're in it but if you answer yes and they find something on the guys, just by answering yes without confirming on your phone if it's true, you're a bit safe...

I will cut off the invoice part and share only the logsheet to your inbox, then you can see each distance they cover everyday and fuel they used on each distance....

I will do that when I get this month logsheet along with othe contractors own so you can compare all together.

The origin of today's back and forth is don't do offline in the guise that times are hard.

No, the question is not what the car is doing. You stated that "They boldly ask for 6km per liter" benchmark. Its that ASK that I question

Yeah, that's what they asked for, I don't think I have my contract agreement on this new phone, but the benchmark is 6km/l and if your car doesn't meet up with that, they will deduct a certain amount to cover extra money spent on fuel.

To an extent you are right.
But I rather be a cowbell that sells cheap small small sizes but has large turnover and makes millions daily than be a peak milk that is expensive and has limited customers who only patronize them ones in a while.
This links back to our previous argument, we all observed that when the price was increased, patronage reduced. So what do u think will happen if the price is set at that luxurious amount u are expecting? U will buy fuel and put and be set to work but u will not see the trip. Do u really think there are no alternatives to ehailing?

Okay we will wait. But the fact that ur car does only 6km per liter is not an indictment on other people who say their car does 10km per liter. U need to fix whatever is wrong with your car.

You see this mentality of more patronage and little money has to stop.

It's just like saying a pure water seller that have more buyers makes more money than a table water seller that have less customers...

See, what you should consider is profit margin and not Sales margin, I don't want something that will give me 1m sales and at the end, I'm only getting 100k profit margin, I want something that will give me 1k sales while my profit margin will be 200k.

Another instance, it's a way of telling someone that have been doing many trips, let's say 10 trips for 5hours for instance and make only 30k while someone do just 1 trip for 2hours and make same 30k.

That first person put in more time and effort but making same thing amount with someone that put in lesser time and energy.

After all, we will say work smarter and not harder, but you want to do more trips for little money when you can do little trips for more money...

Pearl, nah this your mentality bolt get, they are looking for more trips and lesser money but I keep saying this thing, what difference will it make to bolt if they are getting 25% on 10 trips that will amount to 20k and 25% on 1 trip that will amount to same 20k.

Pearl, I have told you severally that, transportation is crucial and important in the society, if price is increased today, people will still patronize, I understand their will be dip but as time goes on, people will adjust back and get used to it.

Inflation is rising everyday, CBN just increased interest rate today again and banks are adjusting, people will eventually adjust.

Car parts is going up and car accessories is going up and you want bolt fare to remain the same, be like say you no wan get small change for your old age, do you want to work till you cross 50years old?...

If you're not making enough now for you to have little to save for future, when will you be able to?

If bolt increases fare by 20% to 30% and other apps does the same thing, trust me, riders will adjust..

Fuel price went up from 185 to 920 in space of 1 year, does it stop fuel from selling, people still queue to buy despite that much increment so, definitely, people will adjust to new price if they increase it as well...
