Omoapena: U are drawing impossible assumptions. Until u have agreed that increased price means low number of trips, then u will not see the implication. Bolt income is fixed at 25% of X If X used to be N100m daily before, now it's down to N40m. X has also reduced This definitely means Bolt income has dropped. You as a driver if currently u are grossing N80k daily and ur profit is 40k after deducting fuel 20k and commission 20k. And u say this 40k is not enough, bolt should increase price, now Bolt increases the fare and u can only Gross 50k with 10k fuel and 12k commission. Now your take home is less than 30k. Pls which do u prefer? |

dav1002: Some people are now saying it's better they drive than take uber cos it's getting too expensive. Some others are running to indrive for cheap rides and others are actually taking yellow cabs or public transportation. Many people now treck from inside estate to d gate to enter keke or korokpe. Others only go out when it is extremely necessary, all those careless long distance waka don reduce. U should chat more with ur riders next time u carry them. These questions shouldn't be for me. 1 Like |

Omoapena: I dont think I have ever said Bolt should not increase price. I said they are trying to find a balance between an affordable price for riders and a profitable price for partners. They have increased price already and are even giving bonuses to cushion the effect of high fuel price. but clearly it's not enough for u, reason why u are still converting trips to offline. Coupled with the fact that Indrive is still a cheap alternative, therefore Bolt cannot set a price that will backfire. Why do u keep arguing blindly back and forth. Adjusting is a function of if people earn more. Can we buy a 5year old car today as easy as it was to buy a 5yr old car in 2010? Why u never adjust till now?? All businesses are experiencing a dip in patronage, cos of high price. even omo Igbo in Ladipo close to u will tell u people aren't patronizing again like before because things don cost. Me personally that don't buy hub bearing before, now hub bearing is my best friend cos I cannot afford one hub for 60k. I prefer to put bearing of 10k and use for 2-3 Months. See inflation is not just the problem, part of the problem is there is no disposable income in circulation and income has not increased. 6 Likes |

Pearl1910: Lolz with your calculations, why not say what same 20k fuel will gross you when they increase price. Let me help you break it down, since you said 20k fuel is grossing 80k and we go home with 40k, pls, when doing your calculations, always remember to remove fuel amount coz you will have to buy back that fuel so your take home isn't 40k as whole but let me just go with your calculations by saying the take home is 40k from 20k fuel.. So you buy 20k fuel and you make 80k, minus commission you have 40k, and you said if they increased fuel, you may have 50k with 10k fuel and go home with 37500. In your latter, you reduced the fuel to 10k, which means if you're to use 20k fuel for the change in price, it will be 100k gross, and remove commission of 25k and you will have 75k which is 35k difference from using 20k fuel to get 80k. You're still looking at the total trips you will get, if you asked me, I don't mind getting 50k with 10k fuel to getting 80k with 20k fuel. In your own instance, you're looking at the 80k and going home with 40k, remember to take your 20k fuel from that 40k and what you're actually going home with is 20k but in your other instance, someone doing 50k with 10k fuel, will go home with 27,500 after taking the 10k fuel from the 50k, so who's making more money with lesser fuel? Do the math yourself and see who's making more using lesser fuel... 3 Likes |

dav1002: Not an assumption. It's my reality. When I tell u I am speaking from experience u think I am telling stories to tickle your fantasy? 20k fuel Look at the Net after commission is minimum 60k. Meaning Gross was 80k. I still did one or two Indrive trips on these days. |

Pearl1910: Did you just say find balance, okay, until everyone cars will be dead and there will be no money to put the car back on the road, if that happens, tell me how they will find balance to what you're saying. They are finding balance but people can't afford to maintain their car due to cheap fare and you expect balance The only balance Bolt need now is to increase price, I'm pretty sure once they increase price, alot of drivers will leave Indrive and once riders are not getting trips on time on indrive, they will fall back to bolt. Have you observed that, people don't use indrive during December period? And people still order back to back on bolt despite the heavy surge, can you explain reason to that when indrive offers very cheap fare during December.... My own explanation to that, it's because drivers can't afford to be on indrive doing trips for cheap fare when Bolt is there with heavy surge and better fare, in essence, if drivers see that bolt fare is better, they won't even care about indrive and riders on indrive will be stranded and they won't have a choice than to order on bolt. 6 Likes |

Pearl1910: Bros, I can bet it that you didn't use 20k fuel which is roughly 22liters to gross 80k online... Send the trip details where it's showing the distance and the amount of the whole trips that gives you 80k and I will tell you, you didn't use 20k fuel to gross 80k now... The offline trip I did on Monday that gave me 36k, I used about 13 litres of fuel which was mushin to Thomas estate and Abraham adesanya to airport. So, if I'm using 13litres for that far distance to get 36k which was the fare bolt charged online and they both even tipped me 1500 collectively, tell me how you will now use 22litres to gross 80k on bolt now. Pearl, I just believe now that you're a chronic liar... Or, let's use Barbiturate case for instance, he did addo road to airport for 18500, let's even say he uses 6litre of fuel which is never possible but let's assume he used 6litre, how many times can we get 6litre from 22litres, that will be 3 and half times right? And, Barbiturate did 18500 using 6litres, so, let's say he was lucky to be getting that same trip with same distance and amount for 3 and half times using 6litres for each trip. So, that means 18500 multiply by 3 and half that will give us 64750. Remember he uses 6litre to cover distance that will give him 18500, so 20k fuel which is 22litres will give him 64750 of same trip and same amount. I believe addo road to airport is way more than 50km And there's no way 6litre can cover such distance but I just pegged it at 6litres to go with your imaginary 10km/l and I'm still not getting 80k with that calculation. 4 Likes 1 Share |

Pearl1910: Nothing you bow, I'm not a fool, everything you said, I reasoned it and it doesn't align, it shows you're just lying and this is very bad. I have dropped my counter statement to your claim that you make 80k with 20k fuel, you carry screenshot of trips and showed us, how does that screenshot show the litres of fuel you used in making that?🤦♂️🤦♂️ I have asked you to send the trip details of each of those trips, let's see the distance and time spent and I will add up the km together and do the calculations going by 10km/l and let's see if you actually used 22litres to cover the whole distance. 2 Likes |

Pearl1910: People thinking so are ignorant… I’ve heard lot of that till car maintenance set in. Remember some people buy cars out of ignorance and not likely the regularly Uber thing. When Kazeem show them shege, they look for alternatives. Some has even join the share ride of a thing, but there’s a way we human are built. There’s a reason increase in income still can’t overshadow expenditure. Unless the money is not just there. About trips, we need to admit people are baffled with where the country is going, reason the town looks like ghost. Do you know all this down sizing Olosho price is still on the high side? How many beach trips do we get on weekends? Fine restaurants trips? Company events like the GTCO stuffs and Eco hotel events? All these things will happen when it will and drivers will have their day regardless of price. Preparation should just try and meet opportunities, then everyone will smile again. 1 Like |

izzou: I really dislike how people assume things, I'm telling you that nothing once your rider is a criminal, either online or offline, they will still arrest you, infact, if not that, the guy was driving company car then, he will be locked in cell for a very long time. How did they come to know he was arrested, he was supposed to remit to the company but since they couldn't reach him, they reached his family and his family couldn't reach him too so, they had to track the car and that's how they got to know he was arrested and when we asked him if the trip is offline, he said it was online, infact, he didn't even end the trip, I think bolt automatically ended it.... Be like una no know police, do you want tell me that police don't know people can order online while you turn it offline? 1 Like |

MrReeseG, pls kindly chat blessing and ask her about Ayo case that was arrested some years back due to the riders he carried, tell her to tell you what actually happened. He was a friend that I introduced to blessing as I introduced you to her as well... People think police in Nigeria will just pardon someone coz they were on an online trip. I even read a news on this same nairaland where a driver took someone on an online trip and on getting to 3mb, the girl asked she needed to piss and the driver waited for her to piss only to realize the girl has jumped inside water and the driver went to report the case and they detained him despite him showing them it was an online trip... 1 Like |

I won’t like to doubt Pearl on the 20k fuel of a thing, because it is not my car. The only thing I’ll be curious about is does 13k fuel gross 70k before the increment. Because what we buy at 13k is what 20k can get today. Note: Bolt increased their price, but seem reversed when una too get sense. Seems like drivers prefer app with small price. |

Omoapena: That is why i said your guy is not telling you the whole truth. Maybe he said he knew them initially, or he tried some funny way to evade the police. You don't need to tell me about Police. I have encountered these issues few times; Last year, i spent a night in December in the station, and i wrote it on Nairaland. Like i said, they are not stupid. The moment you can prove that you were contracted to carry the culprit from point A to B, your case is special. Are you Uber? Yes...That's all they need to know what to do next. I have seen drivers pretend to know their passengers or even defend them during a stop and search. Na that one dey backfire quick quick 12 Likes |

izzou: 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️ I said, the guy took them online and why will he claim they are close associate of him to the police when they are just random people he carried online... I guess the reason why they detained him was because 2 people fled away, and it was his car they ordered while they found gun on them. Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by Omoapena(m): 6:40pm On Sep 25 |
izzou: Yeah, I know right, but it was the driver that went to police station himself, what if the driver just pretends nothing of such happens and probably after intensive investigation, they find out she orders that driver and you know the driver can actually claim the lady asked to be dropped at a bus stop cox she wants to meet someone there and he dropped her without knowing her whereabouts from there but the driver didn't do that and went to station. But do you know that if that trip was offline, the driver is safe coz he will just pretend he didn't carry anyone like that and there's no way they would have known the girl entered his car..cat... In this case, offline would have totally make him avoid being detained. 1 Like |

Omoapena: Yes, online Or are you saying you are responsible for what your rider has in their bag or on their phones? I have heard cases where drivers tried to evade checkpoints because the rider (A yahoo boy) promised a big tip. Police have this unwritten respect for Uber drivers. Even when SARS was at its peak, they let us go if we identify ourselves as a driver. 6 Likes 1 Share |

Unless there is proof that she jumped in the water, he would be charged to court This is the kind of case we pray not to see. But if it Yahoo boys, God has already delivered you. pope191: Bros, I don't want to know the kind of car he's driving, even if it's 1.6l engine, there's no way to get 80k with 20k fuel. Pearl is probably exaggerating or he's just intentionally feeding us lies. Bros, abeg, check price from Maryland bus stop to ajah under bridge on bolt app, look at the price and check how many litres you will use to cover that distance to get that price. I just did here and Bolt charged 14200 from Maryland to ajah under bridge, and let's say you're using 5litre(not possible tho) to cover such distance. If you divide 5litre from 22litre, you will get 4.4, which means you will do that Maryland to ajah 4.4 times. So, multiply 14200 by 4.4times, you will get 62,576 and we can agree it's not possible to use 5litres of fuel from Maryland to ajah. Maybe if there's heavy surge, you can achieve 80k with 20k fuel but without surge, you can't achieve that. I'm putting this into calculations cox I know it's not possible, but if pearl wants to prove me wrong, he should screenshot the whole trips details he did to get 80k with 20k fuel and I will do my calculations here and prove him wrong...... Screenshot below shows; 1st image, Maryland to ajah 2nd image ajah to Maryland... 3 Likes

Omo, see posts! My mentions don reach like 1 billion 😀 Omoapena, I support all you said (including increasing the fare) apart from offline. I have my reasons and it's not even about security. Pearl, I don't make 40k net. Infact now I don't meet target again, the same day. I carry over till the next day. I use 20k fuel if I buy from NNPC. I use 22k if I buy from others. Some days I make 45k gross, some days I make 50k gross. Remove fuel, commission, wear/tear, feeding, call credit and data. Do it maths and see if it's reasonable. Infact remove them from 45k. Though I understand that it's the kind of car I use, but then I was making good profit(to me) when fuel was 185 and even when it got to 585. This 900/ltr and the low price on apps isn't encouraging at all. I'm already thinking of quitting......but to do what now? It's a sorry situation! 6 Likes 2 Shares |
