Can you look at that report carefully again?
i think it is a loss.

go through it slowly pls

if operating profit is 2.8B, how then do u think the profit after tax will now be 3.7B as stated. when u look closely, there is a minus sign there.

i don't know why the inconsistency with minus sign and open and closed brackets. is there something they are hiding?

As for CAVERTON, I remember pointing out the error on my July 31 post on their H1 financial reports when most were celebrating. The error was very clear for any one to have picked it out when you looked at the figures closely but no way, people jump am pass. They all rushed into it as usual.

Caverton was trading at N1.4 and then the chaos moved it to N4.45 which was over 210% before Caverton had to use proper reporting to remove the minus sign and use open and close bracket to properly indicate a huge loss.

Now the journey is down hill and I expect the management to help those that bought at such a high price because the way am seeing it, people go cry sha.

Oga Emma has always maintained here that we should always crunch the figures on our own and examine properly. No one is immune to error including the authors of the reports

Do you know how many people he has quarelled with and driven away from this platform quietly with his utterances since he joined this forum less than a year ago. If I am not mistaken, he has quarelled with almost everybody here. He is a sadi.st. I have never see him recommend a stock before but he is always quick to jump at people who recommended any stock calling them different names. I challenge him to quote any stock he has recommended here before that has made even 50% and stand by it and let us see.
He recommended CHAMS at 1.40 grin grin sometime this year

Street investor joined a year ago? The ancestor himself? hahahahahahaha you must be a newbie. Where were you when he said his target for Oando was ₦20? When the target hit, he shifted the goal post to ₦30. Oando was trading for around 12 or 13 at the time.

The emotions too plenty for here, meanwhile he almost always wins all his arguments because he asks valid questions that no one can answer.

Why is a company with a valuation of ₦6billion+ showing pictures of stockbrokers in a car park according to street. Why not post pictures of what they are selling or their plantation? That is a valid question.

Yes to the bolded. All you have said is null and void. His goal post and bla bla bla are all personal to him, and quite different from recommending stock for others to buy and standing by it. The same person scared people away when Oando nosedives around N36 down to N29, shouting cast, cast. cast everywhere like a child. Go and do your finding about the man.

You can not run away from bush fallowing if you are a large scale commercial farmer e.g growing annuals on 500 acres to about 10,000 hectares or more. Even with all the precision mapping , mechanisation and fertilizers, you can not avoid low yield acrage. it will only make economic sense to have your low yield fields fallow by rotating with cover crops then get back to production. Thats the way forward most serious agricultural research institutes are pushing for. Hence, the push for zero or low tillage and possible incorporation of buffalos or bison herd on farms to help with faster regeneration.

Good read, I agree..Presco, Okomu, Olam, etc can afford it without affecting their bottom line. and I believe they practice it. They are very large enough.

My problem with him is basically about his utterances to people here. You and everybody here has one or more people working under us and we have not had any reason to be calling them derogatory names for any reason whatsoever. But coming here, you start hearing only him doing that. Is he feeding anybody here or has anybody begged him for money here before? Even Dangote, Elumelu, Adenuga and others don't talk the way he talks here. You will soon see him coming to display his talent in answer to my post.

Do we want to consider reinvestment of income/revenue generated. This is a business building from scratch.
yes it is.
And there are so many logistics, security, storage, employment, seedlings, water, electricity, etc and structures to put in place with little income generated to stand firmly. I get all that.

But the narrative that I perceived on that post as the only/Major reason the farm acquired in 2022 isn't being cultivated yet is cuz of fallowing. Didnt sit well with me.

Good to hear from you on this caverton issue again. I bought close to 3m units of caverton, but after your post, I still went back to look at it and to avoid controversy I sold all at the same price I bought. Not minding the fact that the stock rallied over 150% after two weeks, I did not regret selling. Your contribution is valid and thanks.

If you must know, this is @kolaish and I joined this forum around 2015 or thereabout and have been on NSE/NGX for over 3 decades. I went for holiday outside the country and during that period gave the laptop I was using to communicate on this forum to my third child who recently got admission into the university so that he can be using it for school assignment. Coming back, I forgot the login details of my old moniker and the email password. This is the reason why I opened a new moniker @ndept. If the so-called to.ut in the name of streetinvestor2 is bold enough, let him give us his old moniker to know who he is.

I have been long enough to know how many resource persons we have lost on this forum due to ru.de people like him and I will not allow him to turn this platform into a mediocre that he is. If he does not stop abusi.ng and calling people derogatory names here, I am ready to tackle him all the way. Good people should not always keep quiet and allow bad behaviour to linger for long until it becomes a norm. That is part of what led our country to where we are now, because people do not want to tackle bad people/behaviour collectively.

So stock brokers are not financial advisors again, are they not the one recommending stocks every week, what is the problem if they visit the farm to confirm the development inorder not to advise people wrongly.

Can't stock stock brokers buy into a company as well, is it wrong for them to confirm where there money is..

Abi you that you are trading with less than 100m that they will open farm for to check abi some with kobo kobo as capital ellahlakes will open farm for just to convince you, how mamy of you they want convince?.. grin grin

Immediately I had street said he plant in a sack, rubber etc.. I just forget and regret engaging with him regarding farming.
