What this government doesn't understand is that most basics used by Nigerians are imported. Mechanized farming is why the USA and Brazil can do a lot of farming and produce a lot for export. and in the US case, do it with less than 4% of the populatuion working in farming.

Finally rice. I always laugh when I hear about how we are going to be self sufficent in rice production....meanwhile, Thailand and Brazil have the climate and weather and so forth to do all year round rice production...meanwhile the only place where we can do that is severely limited....or we have to spend millions to build a dam that can irrigate only a fixed spot of land. Result...we have to import.
