Rightfully so. Which CBN governor goes on air saying $20BN got missing. Then when queried further, he changed the figure?

Man was inconsistent with his utterances against Jonathan.

The numbers don't lie. Tinubu's CBN governor and finance minister have stated that the economy worsened after 2015. Who was the president in 2015? Who were his major supporters?

Sanusi, the CBN Governor who doesn't know the difference between turnover and profit. The man who presented the presumed daily sale of crude oil of 2.1 million barrels multiplied by the prevailing crude price and expected total remittance by quoting the $20 billion deficit as missing without asking NNPC for the cost of operation and reconciling with the Finance Minister.

Jester.

Who are you to question Sanusi? Sanusi never knew the difference between profit and turnover? You are a clown.

You are ignorant. The law that set up NNPC does not allow NNPC to make deduction of cost of operations or expenses from sale of crude oil. The sale of crude is purely government revenue which must be remitted 100% to the nationa coffers. The NNPC cost of operations are provided for in their operational budget which is approved by the national assembly.
Jonathan messed up with the way he handled Sanusi at that time. A person who was trying to help you check corruption in your govt becoming your enemy . Where is Diezani Madueke today ?

Truly, Sanusi has his good side, but he also enjoys being a controversial figure. Nobody enjoys working with such people. I would sack him if I were the president too. Every time, he was talking about missing billions while he went about sharing money in Kano.

Considering the magnitude of corruption under Jonathan I won't be mad at Sanusi. However while I admire Sanusi intelligence I don't like him for his extreme policies which caused untold hardship as cbn governor leading to many banks downsizing just after capitalization under Soludo's tenure. And then chasing personal vendettas.

He did not even flinch or care about the disaster he caused many families in the banking sector.

I'm sure he's learnt his lesson from ganduje.

I disagree. Cos as bad as Buhari was, he met fuel at N97 and after 8 years left it at N189. It wasn't even up to N100 naira increment after 8 years in power.

I wouldn't say much about the dollar tho, cos the collapse of the naira was horrible under him. But you would agree with me that the standard of living was still fair under him.

The difference between Buhari and Jonathan was that Jonathan had competent hands who were managing the economy. So despite the visible corruption, they managed to keep the economy moving.

Tinubu on the other hand is worse than Jonathan and Buhari. He met fuel at N189, and within a year it's over 1k. He met dollar at N700 and within a year it's over N1,600.

If Tinubu spends 8 years like Buhari, believe me the kind of poverty that would be in this country would be record breaking cos he has absolutely no plan on how to put things back in order. And worse of all, those around him are incompetent.
I totally agree with you on this

Jonathan was a character who was scared of his own shadow.

Every truth was lies to him and his supporters.

Every negative news was seen by him as an attempt to embarrass his government.

From his shaky voice, it was obvious he lacked confidence and did not regard himself worthy of the political heights he reached without putting in the work or even having an ambition for such great heights.

Everybody used their tools to deal with Jonathan, including religious and ethnic war. They've failed to realise that only God puts one in positions, not by force else, your office won't see batter days.

After they hijacked power, they now set Nigeria backwards by 50 years. A lot of people can't ride cars anymore, many homes now use firewood to cook, they now beg to eat, the masses' quality of life had reduced so much. Homes now buy lantern to light up their rooms cos electricity tariff is crazy. All these were experiences and scenarios of the pre-independence era, over 60 years ago.

While tinubu was using propaganda tools with sponsored protests, religious extremists were at it up north and some political office holders of northern extraction in his government too were busy betraying him. PWHC was able to jettison SLS's claim in their report as figures didn't match. SLS was just behaving like emefiele as CBN governor and used his office to favour his people. I remember the billions largesse to kano, during the attack. Whereas, worst cases happened down south but he looked the other way. How people forget things in a hurry. He later became emir of kano, his agelong ambition. Jega was another useless man. Today, he's holding a key position in the apc-led govt as compensation.

I've learned from Jonathan personally. Nigeria doesn't need a soft leader.I'd have put tinubu and his men in jail after charging them for treason and release them only a few weeks to the end of my 2nd tenure. Na shout him thugs go shout. No, Emir Sanusi wanted Jonathan to look into a lot of fraud going on in NNPC, like there being no kerosene Subsidy and NNPC claiming they were deducting money for Kerosene Subsidy. The PWC report proved Emir Sanusi right.

Imagine a Buhari CBN governor coming out to blow such a lie as missing 49 B when our whole budget was a mere 32 B?

Yes, I see how they coordinated attack with Buhari, El Rufai, and Jega to push GEJ out.
Curiously, GEJ only seemed to understand what's going on after he was forced to concede to Buhari. Even Buhari still thinks GEJ was crazy, because nobody concedes in Africa, instead they grab it, steal, and run away with it. Oh, please us that story about loving peace so much that no lives should be lost for the sake of power.
GEJ was busy going around, begging the landlords of Nigeria to have mercy on him, not knowing better.

Has it ever occurred to you that GEJ weakness in dealing with his aides and appointees is the cause of Nigeria's present predicament? His laxity and the reckless looting that plagued his administration set the stage for what we are seeing today. He empowered the opposition.

LIES

We would have been far far better off...

Is it only Nigeria this COVID 19 affected?

But look at other countries at same level with Nigeria, they bounced back almost immediately after the COVID 19 pandemic lockdown ended recording high GDP growth rates of 6 - 9% per annum, while your country was still struggling and crawling between negative GDP growth rate minus (-1%) and 1.5%.

As we speak APC still tanking our GDP down to 250b Dollars from 500+ billion dollars when PDP left and you still have mouth to talk.

Though everybody is suffering the economic pain we are going through now, but let the truth be told.

Nigeria can no longer sustain the heavy petroleum subsidy regime when Tinubu took over. Also neither could it continue to maintain the double foreign currency exchange rates, which politicians, crony businessmen and other criminals in and out of government were misusing to loot and undermine the nation's economy. The nation was almost bankrupt through successive treasury brigandage by our rulers and their criminal agents over many decades. The country could no more fulfil his immediate and future financial obligations to other nations and financial entities by the time Buhari was leaving, and which was becoming embarrassing.

So from which source do you expect Tinubu to see funds to run the country without borrowing and enforcing the current economical actions of tight subsidy removal and foreign currency realignment regime? We are far, far away from being productive because our power infrastructures are in tatters, which if in order, could have helped us by the government heavily assisting strategic companies to ramp up production.

We are all in economic funk, and we will be so for a long time, unless a political guru (which is not Tinubu) arrives on stage to hastily and forcefully correct all the anomalies in economic management and governance in the country.

It is what it is!

Sanusi Lamido Sanusi was sacked as the CBN Gov by President Jonathan. How does he want to be retained for blindly fighting the government for which he served as one of the economy drivers. He had access to Jonathan, but he took the other option.

He accuses without getting his facts tight. He claimed the NASS budget accounts for 25% of the national budget. It was wrong.

He claimed NNPC through Diezani Maduekwe unremitted USD50 billion and later changed it to USD20 billion.

Finally, he was leading an extravagant life as CBN Gov, determined to crush Oceanic and Intercontinental Banks, but rescued AfriBank (now Mainstreet Bank) and BankPHB (now Keystone Bank).

He carried the spirit to the Kano Emirate and he was deposed by Ganduje. And I know he will be dethroned again. Afterall, he was imposed on Kano Emirate by Rabiul Kwakwanso.
