Who witnessed the event?

None of his disciples.
Which means Jesus himself told them what had happened so:

•How can Jesus be fasting and hungry when he himself taught them not to make anyone know about their fasting? Matthew 6:16-18

•How can Jesus be fasting when their was nobody to serve him meals where his is?

•How can Jesus be fasting when he himself didn't decide to but was led by the spirit into the wilderness where there is no food?

•How can Jesus be fasting when there is no way to imitate him in doing so?

Whoever wants to claim he is imitating Jesus regarding fasting must do so and later declare to everyone how he hungered, must not be in the midst of people but in the wilderness where no one can call him for food, must be led by the spirit not his own initiative therefore it should be after the spirit departed from him that he could feel hunger.

So in a nutshell if we have to go by what many do call FASTING today Jesus never fasted.

That's why he didn't initiate it nor teach his disciples how to fast unlike what people are doing today going on hunger strike only to eat at intervals yet claiming they're imitating Jesus!
