Many men are dying silently insults and embarrassments their gfs or wives are giving them.
Unfortunately, most things a man needs to be called a man are external and not internal.

Even if you study hard and come out as the best in your department or school, it is still not a guarantee that you will be financially stable or live a decent life to raise a good family.
The jobs may not just come after submitting many cvs, going to prayer mountains and fasting with night vigils.
Even if you get the job, most are underpaid that will only keep you afloat enough for the next paycheck. You can be the best footballer in your street and school yet nature didn't just align for you to get a good agent to pick and connect you to clubs abroad.
You may have good voice and musics to produce but things won't just fall in place.
To make it worse, the decision of others far off like president far off in Abuja will have ripple effect on your life and decision making.
They may devalue the money in your hand right from Abuja without consulting you thereby making the bread you bought yesterday for #1,000 to become #1,300, transport to work from 300 to 450 thereby making you poorer and struggling more for things you don't know about.

You may be right. But I think this pattern of thought is negative and will produce negative results.

God forbid bad thing I kill myself because a woman leaves me.

An empty bottle is filled with water half way.
The half filled bottle is now given to two boys in the same environment under the same condition.
Then something interesting happened.

Boy A make a remark that the bottle is half full.

Just saying or expressing same thing in different ways. A play with words doesn't affect anything in my opinion. It has little to do with the will of a person to accomplish anything, not especially when one is simply stating the obvious.

I don't loan money to people especially my family members or very close friends, cos I know the relationship will no longer be healthy if failures/ reneges sets in. I'm not that emotional. I only give (dash) them any amount I like

In as much as a man's mentality and outlook may affect his performance and morale, it has no bearing on the nature of reality and the validity and subsistence of natural principles.

No matter how positive and resolute your outlook is, reality remains fixed. No matter how positive and confident you are, you will never get tangible and worthy outcomes without abiding by natural principles and/or factors coming to, or being, place.

Positive mentality, if achieved, is just 5% of the ingredient in getting your preferred outcome. In fact, there are many outcomes and situations in which your positive mindset is futile and irrelevant. This is just to stress the importance and need of having the mental fortitude to gaze upon ugly aspects of life, and still go about your day with a proper grasp of life.

Back to the crux of the matter, as long as a train of thought and opinion concisely and accurately encapsulate the reality of life, it matters not if they come across as negative or depressing. Reality is what it is; it doesn't care about your mood and feelings.

Certain aspects of reality can be harsh, negative, and unbalanced by conventional beliefs/outlook, but it shouldn't be discarded and contested because of this. While I understand your point....I think you are missing the point. The reality is the reality...nothing positive or negative about it. How you respond to it is another different matter. If you don't have money, will you go to the market and buy foodstuff because you are trying to condition your mind positively? You can work harder, listen to motivational speeches while you are hustling but the reality is that you are broke and until that reality changes, there is nothing else to be said about it.

There is a difference about conditioning your mind to see the good in every situation and actually acknowledging the situation. A lot of people try to deny their realities by quoting motivational stuff but never realize the first step to change is actually agreeing you have a problem and then work to fix it.

No one is disputing the value of a good mindset and positive self-esteem. The main koko is if acknowledging and pointing out the ugly and unfortunate aspects of life means one is being negative and having a poor and gloomy outlook.

I understand you guys too, in fact in has much as cosmicjames was right in his writeup, he was wrong in emmadot's context. Emmadot was just saying the general reality of a man's life he wasn't necessarily being negative as we all know cost of living has skyrocketed and we all know how life is harder for a man especially a broke one. I was one too(I'm still broke though) but my life has improved ever since I improved my thinking from "what if this doesn't work out or that plan I'm building what will happen if something bad happens" to just living in the present, moment and always hope for the best. Don't expect the worst though the worst will happen sometimes but it's just nature way of balancing things out so leave the job to nature because at the end of the day, the benefits and consequences of your actions will be yours and yours alone.

But we must learn to realize that a positive mindset can have a negative impact if not channelled properly.
Let me explain:
Doing the same thing over and over again, failing while expecting a different result.
That's what is called living in denial
Choosing not to accept the truth
Hence instead of facing reality head-on, analyzing faults and coming to a sound resolution,
one chooses to cling to positive mindset
Eg all is well when clearly all is not well
I could go on...
I'll conclude by saying
Positive thoughts only tend to have positive impact when reality forms the basis of such thought.

You can't even relate with failure, negativity or financial struggles and a lot of EXTREMELY successful people use this method. It might not make sense to you but other extremely wealthy or extremely successful people om this platform reading this will quietly agree to this.
Your reality is 100% designed by your mindset/ subconscious programming.
