Before he began blowing up, this thread did justice to making him visible. Myself and a couple other monikers already mentioned him before his EPL debut in 22/23 season, 2 seasons ago. We also graced the thread with his record breaking debut which lasted a few mins.

If we had moved on him then, we may have stood a chance but right now ain't no way we are bagging him especially with Bukayo Saka as the kid's mentor.

Saka wanted us for a bit initially but then changed his mind when he saw he had a real chance with England. I understand Saka. And I knew instantly Saka will have a longer lasting England career than Tammy, Tomori, Solanke, EZE and co.

Now same Saka is Captain of Arsenal in Odegaard's absence and another Anglo-Nigerian like himself with high potential, Ethan Nwaneri is finally having his breakthrough season after his EPL debut 2 seasons ago, Omo, ain't no way England are losing this guy unless the hype drops.

Verdict: The NFF should have a mega active scouting and recruitment dept division focused on the dual nationals who can approach them early and see how we can commit them early before the hype comes. Those who will commit, will commit. Those who won't do so, won't do so. But understand, some of these kids also understand that playing for a Euro youth side (England U17, France U17, etc) betters their chances of being considered at their clubs as they climb up the ladder of their careers so some won't commit based on this angle alone.

One day we will get one such player who for some reason will just choose Nigeria.

D'Law o ti lo (no pun intended) Nwaneri is being monitored like a hawk by the English FA only a serious dip in form and persistent chasing on the NFF's end could make Ethan switch. Unfortunately those two scenarios are unlikely to happen.

Na wa oo. We need this guy. Badly

Amedino99:
when you compare the benefits of playing for top European nations as against playing, the decision is not really difficult to make because what exactly does Nigeria have as leverage to offer to a foreign youth player that will make playing for us more attractive? For a player born in Europe I don't know how you will convince him winning the afcon is equally as impressive as winning the euros. Added again is the fact that as a continent we are still celebrating making the world cup semi finals which is our highest achievement. More reason we have to be more intentional about our home based talents.
I know all of the reasons why he'd choose England and not Nigeria but blood is blood. One day sha, we will nick one super talent.

Excuse me noisemaker. But long before you logged into NL as Komekn, I have always suggested the idea to go for the duals early and focus only on the ones interested and leave the ones who ass lick England alone (this was way long before i even joined NL). My football journey didn't start on NL. Nothing has changed. I am just regurgitating same thought. And I repeated same on a previous thread opened by Joseph1013 back then when I joined around 2015.

My approach remains wholly to balance recruitment.

100% full throttle focus on the local scenes focusing on our academies and youth systems and keeping track of them when they go abroad (plus keeping track on any indigenous talent that pops up abroad).

Plus

Strategic focus on the dual nationals that are open to us even from the U17s.

So you are the one cursed with lack of understanding. AS ALWAYS.

It was gonna be Saka. Saka was gonna ge that lad with his staunch rebuttal back then when he was called "English Nigerian". He said no... he is Omo Naija through and through but alas.... we saw how it turned out.

But time may have a surprise for us. Time may yet throw up a player that will do just as you hope despite his huge chances with a top euro nation. That would be a sight.

Above is the statement made. Please where is prior to Sept 18 mentioned? Wasn't it clearly stated it was before his debut happened? Even if it was a minute before his debut, the point stands as valid as it was indeed before his debut.

And Ethan making the bench that day, was it a guarantee of his eventual debut? No. Capital No. We have seen youngsters make the bench all the time without coming off the bench.
In Ethan's case, We anticipated it and I rightly did justice to his info. Him eventually making his debut later that same day became a bonus.

The question is was Ethan mentioned here before he made his Arsenal first team debut? The answer is a BIG YES!!

Now rest. You are the one arguing over nothing really.

LMAO... Whatever satisfies your ego.
The fact still remain that you lied.

Chelsea wanted a Pre Agreement with Osimhen for January 2025 that was rejected before he went to Galatasaray.

- They have been ringing Napoli wanting to do a deal in January. Willing to pay him the wages he wants 100%

But that’s Impossible. He stays at Gala for the full season.

@BuchiLaba
you mean if Chelsea agrees to bring him in on his terms in January that he would stick with Gala?😳

Ego? Wait mostob... you really do have a problem. This is not the first time your insignificant self will try to play down the efforts of people actually contributing to the thread. This is not the first at all. And ofcos I know you stay with the stigma of having been called out by me for groping to a pic of one of our Super Falcons players. The pain still rings fresh which is part of why you won't back down from saying nonsense.

A player I know nothing about?? Do anyone actually think that I have the time to mention every player or talent I know?? Lol

I have known about Nwaneri before he made that teamsheet but didn't think him necessary to mention until that day.

So it is until I mention a player here on NL that I know about the player?? What foolery is this?

So I must list all the talents I know about scattered across the Arsenal, Chelsea and other academies in England or Europe? I actually do my best. BUT WHAT DO YOU DO?? ALL YOU DO IS TALK DOWN AND SOUND FOOLISH.

All you do is attack but hardly do you contribute in terms of players monitoring OR players visibility. It is 2024 and you are still the same. How pathetic.

Everyone who comes to this thread and the previous threads before this one was opened by Terzurum5 knows reporting on players is like second nature for me. I make it look easy.

So you being an Arsenal fan and thinking only you and Arsenal fans should know about Nwaneri is absolutely silly of you. You are just very delusional.

NWANERI WAS MENTIONED ON THIS THREAD BEFORE HE EVER OFFICIALLY DEBUTED FOR ARSENAL

If that fact pains you so much as an Arsenal fan, then you can eat metal.

Jordan Torunarigha benched for Gent vs OH Leuven in Belgium who has Chukwubuikem Ikwuemesi

Game on in 1 min

Ikwuemesi was formerly at Salernitana in Serie A 23/24 last season but left for Belgium after they got relegated.

Although Ejuke's supposed assist was eventually chalked off, it doesn't take away from the fact that he indeed had a good game.

7/9 dribbles completed.(highest in the game... Na him food).

9 ground duels won (highest in the game)

11 recoveries.

He was heavily involved to help Sevilla earn a point at Bilbao.

Red card to one of your most creative players and two goals down. Ahhh.

Although his team, Kalmar FF fell 1-3 at home to Elfsborg (5th in Sweden), 18 y/o fast rising CB who has been mentioned times without number by Chriskels and Charlesemeka85, Vince Osuji produced quite the passing clinic finishing as the highest passer in the encounter - 88 accurate passes out of 92 attempted. 96% passing accuracy.

His other game numbers today:

5 clearances.
5 recoveries.
2 interceptions.
2 headed clearances.
100% tackles won (1/1).
2 aerial duels won.
2 ground duels won.
1 block.
Wasn't dispossessed once.

The bad thing is you would be sacking ETH in a period where tactically strong managers are not so much in the market. Who would you bring in to replace the bald one of red Manchester?

Just that Lookman and Simon both play in the same position
It will be tough for him
But Iheanacho should be phased out
