If you can, get a 2.5kwh battery to cater for future needs.

So my wattage should be around 800watts

Fridge 500w
Fan 40 x 2 ‎ = 80w
Light bulbs 100w
Tv 80 w

Totaling about 760 - 800 watts

The battery alone done chop almost all the money, you need to reduce your loads, from your freezer first, the power consumption of of your freezer is high.

Considering even modern 200L chest freezers only take like 110w, I'm very curious how you got to the conclusion that your fridge takes 500w.

500k to 1m

1m in this economy will only give you a very barebones setup.

12v.

Powmr 100aH Lifepo4 battery - 290k
Two 625w Jinko panels - 340k
Sachet inverter + MPPT or a hybrid 12v inverter - 200-250k

Leaves you with 120k for accessories and installation. Not enough but top up that budget a little bit and you're in business.

Good day everyone.

I have an already installed setup here. 1.5kva 24V hybrid inverter and 2.5kwh battery. Serves me well.

I'm "trying" to consider adding panel to my setup in a bid to finally go off-grid(if I don't on my fridge, I regularly have less than 150W load).

However, I've contacted 2 different people who gave me quotes that made me run for my life 🤣

First person, "madam", insisted on 4/6 panels. Even though I stated I don't have the funds.
4, 300W panels, 85k each
DC cable, 150k
4 Panel rack, 25k

That's a total of 590k. Haaaaaaaa, kilode??

I spoke to her worker himself, guy that installed. And he was more understanding, asking me how many panels I intend to use. And for the sake of quotation, I told him 2, 300W panels is alright.

2, 300W panels, 88k each
20yd DC cable, 100k
3 racks, 15k
DC breaker, 63A, 8k
Accessories, 10k(I don't know what other accessories o 😂😂)
Installation, 40k

That's a total of 349k

In my mind, initially, I was looking at getting a single 440W panel from Fouani(140k), but I then thought that 2 300W panels would give more wattage than a single 440W panel, so I considered the 300W panels instead.

I live in a storey building, and my apartment is on the ground floor. What can you advise with respect to the second quote, please? Am I supposed to spend 300k in all honesty? And for two panels too?

Thanks...

I did and now the controller has refused to power ON ( almost like the batt3 is too weak to power on the powerM controller )though it was a very mocky weather today.
I am thinking my batt3 is drained beyond revival but 🤞

Looks like you have some issues on your hand. What type and brand is your battery?

It is impossible for your fridge to pull 500w. Share the nameplate sticker at the back of the fridge.

Why are your bulbs a whooping 100w? What is the Watts rating of each bulb and how many in total.

Consider changing your fans to something more energy-efficient

Good day guys, please I’m new to this solar inverter stuff and I’m interested in setting up something not too expensive but efficient, I recently moved to a new location and their power supply here is terrible, so I need a setup that should be able to supply me with at least 18hrs power supply daily, especially over night, major appliances are my normal bulbs, 2 standing fans, a fridge and my 55 inch tv. Please help a brother out.
we can offer u
24v 1.5kw hybrid inverter with 24v 2.5kwh lifepo4 lithium battery both for 830k
24v 3kwh lifepo4 lithium battery with 24v 1.5kw hybrid inverter for 930k
24v 4.4kwh lifepo4 lithium battery with 24v 1.5kw hybrid inverter for 1.1m

Also confirm from the second guy whether he is using 6mm2 or 10mm2 cables

Thanks for recommending PowMr, bro.

Richy02, you can consider these:

1. PowMr 12.8v 100ah LiFePO4 battery. Each unit is rated 1280wh/1.28kwh. Connecting 2 in series will give you a 24v system and 2560wh/2.56kwh. One unit sells for 290,000. If you buy 2 units, significant discount applies.

https://www.nairaland.com/7833852/3000w-easun-pure-sine-wave

3. Powmr 60A MPPT Solar Charge Controller for 94,000

4. Original thick double core 6mm2 Solar cables at 3200/meter (not yard), plus free mc4 connectors. Will be available by next month.

You can get Solar panels from Fouani for as low as 120k.

For the earlier installation, he claims he used 10mm². But the cable was labelled 16mm². I'm sure he'd use the same cable.

For the panel, the prices he stated are from wherever he's going to buy. However, if I'm not buying from Fouani(which would be single Panel), I'd buy the 300W panels from reputable vendors here.

Apologies, made a mistake with the fridge figure, I picked the wrong figure, it is 63w for the fridge and the bulb is about 10, 7 watts each, so I only approximated

500k to 1m

Well, it will serve you depending on your loads.

3000w Satchet nverter + powmr cc(old version) = roughly 200k

Solar panels = 600w ( 300w ×2)
= Jinko 440w × 2 = 248k

LifePO4 12v 300k roughly.

Cable : hmmmm used 8core pure copper Ethernet cable.

Output on a good day is 16a to 26a without cable getting hot.

The above is my set up apart from the Jinko and am off-grid with sense ni oo. The most important appliance is the freezer.

So prioritize you load and enjoy free energy.

There is no way he will quote you for 10mm2 and use 16mm2. Just ensure he gets and uses what he quotes you for so that you get maximum value for your money and your system works well

Also, please, be sure of the source of your panels. It makes a whole lot of significant difference as it will determine the quality of your harvest. I personally will advise that you buy from Fouani and get it right from the get-go
