grandstar: Young man, he hadn't done anything, to produce an electronic board, you need "Smd components mounting machine" that cost over. 50,000 dollars, this is not even manufacturing the board oh, this is assembling components on the board, then there another machine to program flash memory, ROM, processor, ICs, trust me. This doesn't come up to the level of assembling a phone. 1 Like 1 Share |

Truth be told, thereβs nothing amazing in what he did, the world has gone beyond that. This is not 1910. Secondly, listening to him talk, he was making sense at the beginning but a fool cannot hide his folly, someone that is looking for support and public sympathy still ended his speech with tribal bigotry and coloration. He said and I quote β we will show us why god has blessed an Igbo man with intelligence β Hehehe, itβs that same bragging, unnecessary chest beating! So the others no get intelligence, na una wise pass? On top the useless ugly reengineered caricature whey he carry for hand. He should go and share it to his village streets kids to find something to play police and thief game 1 Like |

It's funny how people find it easy to talk down on things they can't or have never tried to achieve. If all this guy has done is successfully assemble a phone even using second hand parts, are we pretending that is not an achievement? Who else has sone it in Nigeria? If we were assembling phones wouldn't we be better off than we are today? Please let's give some credit and encourage people who have shown some initiative to do more, rather than sit in our comfortable chairs and criticize good efforts when we have not done anything ourselves. |

sparko1:chai,so you need 50000$ to assemble an electroboard of a phone? nokia phone wey we dey buy for 15 thousand naira. Even iphone 16 is sold for 4 million naira(highest price),16 pro and max wey never reach this world can never come out with that price You even said that 50000$ is just for a so called electroboard Meaning,if the company finally assemble the nokia phone, the company are going to spend more than a hundred of dollars, then the company are going to sell each phone for 14$,15$ or so They gain profit abi? Boss,no vex who you dey try impress with your lie |

IFECHIGCON:to be sincere I don't see anything impressive about this,he just got different phone parts and just joined them on a piece of plywood as a circuit board I remember.my secondary school days in enugu we go to ogbete market and buy diodes, capacitors, transistors, semi conductors , circuit waferboard and build many things with it,fm radios, short wave radios walkie talkies, amplifiers, etc,I am impressed with the originality of using wood but it lack finishing touches and and the functionality and durability will be zero 1 Like |

Reggaero: Impress? Most of you just assume we are all stupid together, I studied Computer science and information technology, I know this might be difficult for you to understand, but the main reason we can't boost of producing such devices is not because we are dumb, we just don't have that kind of funding. Some secondary schools abroad have more funding than all the universities in some geopolitical zone put together, imagine some universities don't even have latest compilers to write programs, some still tech pascal in my time. To answer your questions, yes, those machines are that cost, but because of volume, the cost are covered in the long run. |
Re: A Nigerian Man Built A Functioning Phone Out Of Wood(photos/video) by Reggaero(m): 2:58pm On Sep 30, 2024 |
sparko1:sure no vex,but the point i was trying to make is that those expenses you wrote are for starting a phone company not for creating a mobile phone The expenses to make a a single mobile phone can't be 50,000$ |
