Investigations was launched by both NPF and the Anambra State Assembly and it was revealed that the money was an overdraft taken by the contractor, as the state government hasn't released a dime for the project as at that time. Search for the report of the Anambra State Assembly report on ₦250m found with Obi's driver in Lagos.

The money wasn't even meant for the state government, it was the contractor money, an overdraft he secured from his bank to do project for the state. The contract he got, the state has not even paid him a dime. Or you're just hearing today that some contracts are done before government release money? That's why you hear government is owing this contractor and that.
