You get the gist bro.

I tried to run my regular Led tv on 12v from the regular 220v. I open tv saw 12v for motherboard. Na so i connect my 12v battery join. The standby indicator turn red but if I try to turn am on via remote, the red go turn blue indicating ready to power but e go off. If not for cost of getting another tv, i for risk am locate another 12v part this time from the transformer side. But I go try am last last.

Most 18v to 20v would comfortably run off 12volts power supply. Just that they would draw more current in order to obey this law P=IV or I=P/V or V=P/I

As for the one you say the panel is 12-volts, but runs off 240-volts, means they probably have stepDown and depending on complexity, you could tap your way around it BUT much easier just going for those that uses external power adapter.

As for yours going off after turning BLUE, ensure the volume is very very low as it probably going off the moment it tries drawing more current.

If you've ever seen a sound system with bad Sound IC, they work perfectly well till you increase it's volume to a certain level then they trip off.

Would suggest you try running it in the afternoon when the battery is properly charged. Should it work well, use it a couple of days and it might adjust to the new level of power.

My original LG Tv-Monitor did same but later came to terms with reality.

Same with some of my Computers. initially when newly implemented, they would randomly go off BUT after a while, they adjust. My current work PC (Core i7) been ON 24/7 for the past 3-months. I use Linux so no slowDowns unLike Windows OS, when not restarted over extended period of time.

Just try and let's know. Just becareful, because those smallish panels are often very delicate

People in the house, please read carefully. No follow the advise of @dollarnaira and @bassdow too seriously o.

1. The fact that something "works" does not mean that it is working well. Properly tested and certified electronics sometimes misbehave and burn houses, talk less of things carelessly joined together.

2. Anyone who follows the news will remember the implosion of the Titan submersible many months ago. Five people lost their lives because one foolish man believes his hunch and refused standard testing and certification.

3. I'm a hard core hobbyist and DIY guy myself. I'm a medic, but some think that I'm an engineer, but I understand limits and take precautions.

4. So, please be careful out there. Follow rules and guidelines as much as possible. Those rules and guidelines are borne out of rigorous testing and years of observations with some safety margins built into them.

5. Like they say, things that move around carefully dies, not to talk of the ones that move about carelessly. Mistakes happen. If you stay within the rules, the damages are likely to be less than if you are outside them with untested, unvetted dangerous experimental setup.

I kukuma no come here hustle clients though I sometimes get clients (a few big ones) BUT when in here, na to respond to questions, and sometimes share ideas. Had everyOne relied only on what's existing, I doubt there ever would have been any new inventions.

I even have an external Tv antenna inside the room. When he asked why said antenna ain't outdoors, I told him I modified it to act as booster and for some reasons, preferred it staying inside.

On top table, Oga only saw external keyboard and mouse + my 32-inch LED Tv-Monitor (still working then). He didn't ask me where the PC was but was looking for it until I showed him by point at what's on the wall. it's then He saw the blinking light.

For you information, I don't sell anything, just a user who is a bit hands-on. The only things I have ever sold to people are my decommissioned equipment.

However, if you are okay with burning down your house down because you are trying to save some few naira, that is up to you. I'm just trying to advise others to be careful. It is not everyone that have the means to burn two laptops for meaningless experiments. There is nothing you have described here that have not being accomplished in safer ways. If you want to use DC for your TV, buy a DC TV!

Hopefully the only person you endanger is yourself, not your wife and kids.

I did turned off everything and then cleared the error, I then proceeded to turning on the appliances one by one, now it's stable. Is there any chances it could go back to the BP mode? It's 2 tall turbular batteries 220ahms each, 3.5kva hybrid inverter.. the load rating doesn't go beyond 800watts, the batteries now reads between 26.8 to 27.5volt, it's a bet9ja shop. Just small tvs and computers.

Check and ensure the batteries are getting charged well via the settings both in controller and the inverter if there is AC supply.

I guess calling people "kids" is your favourite insult. Says more about you than the people you are trying to insult.

Ethernet cables are specced to carry signals and very little current. To turn it into something to use for PV installation is playing with fire. Unfortunately, the day your childish experiment fails, you will be too ashamed to tell us here. Enjoy, adult. grin

Out of the 2 laptops that had issues and that was over 13-years ago, only 1 went completely bad. But then again, the technologies we enjoy today, do you think it cost them 5 years to invent ?

MPPT is a technological advancement of an older technology called PWM.

Felicity is a brand name, just like we have nokia and Samsung.

As for WiFi and GPRS, kai those are features that either or none of them could have depending on Brand and Model.

See eh, I dey chop, use one hand dey type. Your question get as e be.

Would suggest you share a clear picture of the inverter here because MPPT is a technology used in design of charge Controllers. Now have equally seen batteries with the word "Lithium" wrongly spelt as brand name BUT anyOne with basic knowledge knows Lithium ain't a brand name BUT a battery chemistry. Just like we've got GEL and the likes.

So abeg share clear picture of said inverter to avoid us making assumptions. MayBe the inverter full name sef na MPPT Solar Inverter

Those individuals who go to China to produce things are used to using clever cunny names

DIY get level Oooo. The kind I do before, ain't the type I do nowAdays as person no get time like before.

Choosing to handle installations mySelf could be termed as DIY but is different from those who go the extra mile into improvising thing which is what I used to do several years ago.

nowAdays, except I don't find something I need, I no dey too waste time except I have reasons to.

Why spend money buying inverter and many batteries to power things that mostly ends up inverting power from 12 / 24 / 36 / 48 volts to 240-volts , only to be stepped down to less than 12-volts. Why not ditch said inverter, and use fewer batteries say 1 or 2 batteries, instead of 4 or more batteries, which would end up forcing you spend to acquire many more solar panels.

Even to buy gadgets such as TeleVision, I focus on how easy converting to 12 or 18 volts would be. and if it's LED or worse case LCD. That's because modifying power supply of most TVs is kinda complex and time consuming. I could do it, as I've done so many times BUT why waste time if you could save time.

As for the Ethernet cable talk, I no get time begin reason as him take do am, still, I know not to blindly attack one. no be everything wey me dey do I dey share online and one of the reasons na to avoid accidents to those unExperienced. If you come to my place and see something, or during a discussion I say something and you ask for it, I could refuse if I know such invention/knowledge is still NEW and not yet refined enough for everyOne. it's just for your own safety.

I guess you meant MPP Solar Inverter

MPP Solar is an Axpert (Voltronics) Based Inverter.

MPP Solar the brand name and it's closer to Growatt than Felicity in terms of components and designs.

And yes they do have WIFI & GPRS for iOS and Android some of which are built-in, just attach the antenna and you can configure your Wifi.
Some even have detachable screen that you can just pull out and extend the cable to mount the screen where you want. For example you have a power house, you can detach the screen and mount it inside your apartment for easy monitoring.

This thread ought to be more of DIY and HELPs, than SELLing.

How about we even teach ourselves how to couple Lithium cells into batteries using things readily available around us.

Lots of people rely on YouTube videos. I doubt you believe should I tell you I very rarely use YouTube videos.
we wey be self-taught no too sabi watch youTube videos because our creativity is mostly through trial and errors. We imagine it, then try to implement it.

Though I believe learning from others would drastically save you time. My own kinda person go even find it difficult following things verbatim. I go still find way do something different.

Your batteries most likely cannot instantly sustain the surge current required to start up all your appliances at once.

Now that you are well informed on how to clear the error as well as how to prevent the start up surge, you should have no issues again.

Samething re-occured just this morning, could it be that the battery had gone really bad?

Never said you were here to sell or not.

Also, who told you I'm trying to save money. What a lot of people don't know is, there are people who are naturally inquisitive. Those who sees things and want to know how it works, or make it do other things.

Out of the 2 laptops that had issues and that was over 13-years ago, only 1 went completely bad. But then again, the technologies we enjoy today, do you think it cost them 5 years to invent ?

NowAdays, I could make any laptop or even Desktop PC run off 12-volts without stress. if I weren't persistent, I wouldn't achieve such and I no too feel am because I was passionate about what I was doing then; not looking to make money.

Now imagine when my kind chooses to do same thing most of you do, no way it wouldn't be more optimized. of course there are few things I don't share because I understand only one technical enough can use them to avoid accidents.

in advanced societies, skilled people are assisted to become better. But for 9ja, you're lucky if hunger doesn't cause you to loose focus
You go explain tire without evidence.
I only pity those who will keep asking questions without getting answers. I know guys who just view this this group but do not participate anymore bc of gbos gbas. You shoot your idea, you get bashed like you know nothing. Peace to the group. Baba enjoy your day.

So many back and forth. As a DIY nerd, you ought to be used to criticism when people don’t understand the effort you put into something and the accomplishment/joy when the tinkering pays off.

It is also interesting hearing from you what and what you accomplished, 12v directly powering a CPU. Thats great! Ethernet cable for pv power input? Thats wonderful.

But, that is just good enough for you. There is a reason why what you did is not standard, and it boils down to safety.

You cannot claim to be an informed DIY person and not care about safety. Now, someone has raised safety concerns as it pertains to non-techy folks wanting to take your advice and do their set up like yours. It carries undeniable risks either way you look at it.

So, I understand your ego may be hurt when your diy exploits were not praised, well, congratulations on such efforts, you guys are tinkering and thats the engineering spirit!

But it should stop at that. Standards of safety exist for a reason.

I will assume the batteries are bad. I sympathise with you especially taking into consideration the current cost of solar ess batteries.

An advice of note: when getting a new battery, please get a lithium LFP one. They offer deep discharge and have been proven to be safe.
