They are trying to lure people to their website to join their Cryptocurrency biz.

I once experience this - It might be a Ponzi Scheme in disguise.

uncleck:
1. The total quantity of rice will not exceed 1000 bags.

2. It's either that this is a ploy to promote an online store or the CEO is nursing a political ambition.

3. The rice will be super low quality. There's no free gift in Nigeria.

4. The distribution might be audio; it may never happen.

5. If it is true, politicians will definitely hijack it. It's either you go through them so that they use it to make political statements or they frustrate you.

6. People that really need the rice might not get it because of collection center...

I'm interested in knowing what they hope to benefit by doing this cos no private company does charity for free undecided

This thread and every other media coverage is the exact intent. It boils down to:

1. Free positive media coverage for the company

It is common for companies to occasionally channel their marketing budget toward "cause-driven" activities, like this.
It achieves similar outcomes as traditional marketing. Now, you have heard of Egoras in a positive light.
Next time you are in need of whatever service they offer and you come across them, you are much more likely to engage.

2. Goodwill

Goodwill is a very strong thing for a business or individual to have. Gaining goodwill with actions like this makes things easier for them as a business. Business partnerships are more likely to work, because the potential partner has heard of them.
In the same way, people are more likely to use their services in the future, because they have a positive memory of them.

The problem with Nigeria is that sellers are the ones that will buy these rice and still sell for 105k per bag to the suppose beneficiaries, making the intervention useless

The same Obasanjo who brought us into this mess of ebilokan by helping Tinubu to make Buhari president in 2015, to earn his own turn for continuing APC failure?

Are you for real or just kidding yourself

citizenisb:
Former President Olusegun Obasanjo says President Muhammadu Buhari may not do well in economy and foreign affairs, except in military matters.

“Buhari is not a very hot person on the economy and foreign affairs,” Obasanjo said.

The former President stated this on Monday at the third International Conference on African Development Issues — themed, “Driving inclusive and sustainable development in Africa: Models, methods and policies” — organised by Covenant University, Ota, Ogun State.

While reacting to a question posed to him by a member of the audience: “Is there any hope for Nigeria under the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari?”, Obasanjo replied, “Is there any hope for Nigeria under this administration? I came back from Geneva, Switzerland a few days ago to attend a conference titled, ‘Are elections giving democracy a bad name?’ We had an election, we elected a leader and the good thing about democracy is that the power you have to elect a leader is also the power you have to remove him. I am saying this because I said earlier that if you don’t see any leader that has done well in the 56 years of Nigeria’s independence, then let us forget about Nigeria.

“I will tell you what I know and I will tell you what I don’t know. I know Gen. Muhammadu Buhari. He served under me in the military. His characteristics that I know, his behaviour that I know, he has not deviated from them. He was never a perfect man, he is not a perfect man and no leader can ever be a perfect man because they are human beings. But if you read my book, what I said about him is correct. He is not a hot person when it comes to economy. He is not a very hot person when it comes to foreign affairs. But he will do well in matters of military and he will do well in fighting Boko Haram.”

If supply is not enough to meet demand then it will be foolish not to sell for a high price, which will encourage more people to invest in the particular product and bring down prices.

Is this not what happened when PDP deregulated the telecom sector over two decades ago? How long did it take Glo to crash prices with its per second price?

If Fayemi and co did not use pastor Tunde Bakare, Femi Falana, Femi Kuti and others to play politics with our destiny in their 2012 Ojota protests, won’t we be seeing more petrol at a cheaper price by now

Omooba77:
…says Nigeria experienced economic development during Jonathan’s administration

A former Governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, on Tuesday, said the protest that trailed the fuel subsidy removal during the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan in 2012 was due to political interests.

Fayemi said this in his keynote address delivered at a national dialogue organised to celebrate the 60th birthday celebration of the founding National Secretary of Alliance for Democracy and Fellow, Abuja School of Social and Political Thought, Professor Udenta Udenta in Abuja.

The programme was attended by Jonathan, former Minister of Education, Dr. Oby Ezekwesili; former Minister of Aviation, Osita Chidoka, among others.

The PUNCH reports that on January 1, 2012, President Goodluck announced the removal of fuel subsidy and adjusted the pump price of petrol from N65 per litre to N141.

The decision sparked mass protests, tagged ‘Occupy Nigeria’ across major cities of the country.

The price was later re-adjusted to N97, after more than a week of protests.

Petrol price was later reduced to N87 in 2015.

Jonathan faced serious backlash for the fuel price adjustment, especially from leaders of the All Progressives Congress, who were then in different opposition parties, including the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria, Congress for Progressives Congress, All Nigeria Peoples Party, and All Progressive Grand Alliance.
