They are not perfect but they have a base level of speed and athletism that ours do not have.

Rashford was very negligent in his duties for those goals and G/A contribution can't cover it. You see how useless Bruno looks when the G/A are not coming?

No. Full backs do not have a special power to stop all crosses just because they are full backs. It depends on positioning and marking assignments. Generally speaking, Fullbacks mark opposition wingers, wingers track opposition fullbacks.

For the 1st goal it was the Porto RB that crossed the ball and on paper our LW should be the person marking their RB, and on the pitch Rashes was the nearest person to the RB but was strolling towards him and in poor position.

For the 2nd goal it was the same RB that crossed the ball while Rashes was strolling towards the ball, having left Dalot to try to mark both the RB and the Porto No 16.

P.S Garnacho is significantly better than Rashes defensively, just based on effort and desire alone. Half of defensive work for an attacking player is done just by putting in a shift. There have been a lot of criminally negligent defensive performances by Rashes in the past few years.

Also De Ligt had Injuries last season but still has similar game time to Dier and co. So I think that getting benched thing is totally not true. But I admit he's been super underwhelming so far.
