Cyriel Dessers, Tolu Arokodare, Victor Olatunji, Gift Orban, Yira Sor, Nathan Tella all had better goal record than Ihenacho over the past 2 years..
he was obviously referring to the national team

That's what he said... But chrisooblog has not considered that ihenacho of 2024 is not the ihenacho of 2020.

Age is telling on ihenacho's performance.

AE will really have to sit Awoniyi, KC and Chuks down and tell them the blunt truth. For God sake, so many guys are knocking on the SE's door and banging in goals week in week out. They better up their game or stop being invited

AE and NFF are biased when it comes to player selection for the SE so i expect to see the same faces for the next 3 years..

NFF don't like and don't encourage trying of new players for the SE..

Iheanacho of the 2023 scored 3 national team goals so I should discard someone who has proven to be a semi-reliable source of goals just because he's going through a rough patch?

National team football doesn't work that way. KC is not undropable if there are confirmed better options but the names being suggested haven't been assessed at SE level to begin saying they deserve a spot especially as we are in the middle of qualifiers.

This is why am never in a hurry for any player to be dropped completely from the national team except the player truly has been in poor form for the national team(not club)

That’s how some people are already asking for Ndidi to be shown the way out. Very funny

Okoye's performances in the GWG haven't shown that he's better than Nwabali. Stanley has been doing very well for the SE since his debut for the SE at the AFCON so please die the agenda before it even has the chance to breathe.

If you decide to base your agenda on the quality of the league that Nwabali features in then you should also explain how a almost 100% South Africa based Bafana Bafana side beat Morocco at the AFCON.

Very very good angle. You have him cornered.

But ehn abeg, why use this example? Me and My Moroccan boys hate to be reminded of that disgraceful result abeg. So painful. Imagine. A whole WC Semifinalist team got trounced by "Mamelodi Sundowns XI" (8 starters that day play for Mamelodi).

Abeg, find another example use. This PTSD is fresh.

Ndidi not to be shown the way out but to be rightly benched or role changed. He is no longer the CDM we need him to be.

Born in Lagos
Arrived France at the age of 3

French Football Federation (FFF) Technical Director, Hubert Fournier, has started naturalisation process that will see George Osrzehmen Ilenikhena, 18, represent the European country, according to RMC Sport.

🔴 George Ilenikhena (18 years old) attracts the French and Nigerian selections! 🇫🇷🇳🇬

The FFF is following the player's case very closely. 👀💎

As a coach, there are certain positions you find your team in a game and all you need is an Old Fox, who is experienced with the national team and on the continent, to turn things around. I respect Eguavoen's position on calling Iheanacho. Besides, also, there are already a good number of new players and returnees in the team.

National team football is not like to a toddlers toy that once you lose interest you just discard immediately without thoughts to the balance of the team.

Hv u watched iheanacho play for Sevilla this season? And if you hv does he merit an invite to the super eagles base on current form?

Experience head against Libya abi Brazil? The experience of iwobi, ndidi, ekong, aina etc aren’t enough for the team?

Infusion of newbies into a team should be a gradual process. You don't just flood a team with new players with every international break.

Bro, national team football is different from club football. We know what Iheanacho can offer this team. You cannot just throw him off the bus because he has had an average start to a new season.

which gradual process? U sure say u sabi football at all?

Are u changing the whole team with newbies or dropping 1 or 2 deadwoods for in form younger players?

The same Iheanacho that I doubt will even get minutes against Libya in both legs? Mk I see as his experience go help wen he will be glued to the bench 🤦‍♀️

A bottle of Coke for you, on me grin

If Eguavoen knows what is good for him, he should not fall for same temptation that made him field too many newbies in the return leg against Ghana in Abuja.

I can understand your frustration that you don't want Nigeria to lose out on George like we did with Eze. I don't know if the NFF scouting department behind the scenes are following up on Ilenikhena but from the looks of it we need to do more.

On the football side is George ready and to displace our current SE options? At best for me it's debatable cos he obviously can't bench the two Victors, KC trumps him with experience while the fourth strikers' position is open but with many names battling for one spot.

Nothing wrong with infusion of 1 or 2, in some games. Look at the list released and see how many newbies and returnees we have already. You still want to drop Iheanacho for one of those names you are parading.

Why are people hell bent on advocating for nwabali to be dropped when he hasn’t made an error? There’s an adage that says “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” presently, nwabali has excelled at his position and regardless of his league status, he presently deserve to remain as the number 1.
Dropped for who kwanu?

your reasoning and disposition is the reason why as a nation we will never grow

So u re thinking of now and not the future?

Who told u we want George to come and take Osimhen or Boniface place in the team? Is it not better he serve as an understudy to the likes of the snr duo you mentioned just as Osimhen was eased into the team by understudying Ighalo and others?

France that re chasing him u think they want to incorporate him to their snr team right away?

U aren’t thinking about tomorrow but immediate gain and impact? Nawaoooooo

I swear e go hard us to even smell the quarter finals of the World Cup late alone the semis 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

oga rest u knw nothing about football.

Try and make case for Musa as well since Iheanacho deserves his recent call up. Atleast both are experienced

If Tanimu can be one of your best super eagles defenders recently who am I to question your choice of Iheanacho at the expense of in form younger strikers performing week in week out in europe
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by chrisooblog: 3:12pm On Oct 08
Bro Ahmed Musa's performances for the SE have been average at best for 2 going on 3 years. Apart from club football where KC has struggled how many national team games has Iheanacho featured in this year and been consistently terrible?

I'm always for freshening up the squad with quality new additions but is there any current Nigerian forward other than the two Victors painting Europe with goals at the moment? Dessers? we have seen him decent. Tolu? untested? Orban? Adams? off and on really. All the same I understand the basis of your argument just disagree about the timing.
