The Abuja high court made the determination using Nigeria constitution. If any state law clashes with the constitution, (I.e. runs contrary to the Nigeria constitution ) such state law is rendered null and void.

In this case, Lagos was trying to be half clever by testing the law. This was an affront to the Nigerian constitution which is supreme over all states law.

Lagos state will be dragged before the Supreme Court,
What about Sharia law in some northern states?

Dear everyone, please forgive me for doing this but it seems that I have no choice. I'm typing this with tears in my eyes and with a very heavy heart. I'm doing this for my little girl who is asthmatic, I have exhausted my savings to buy her Seretide inhaler but at this point it has become too expensive to afford. I work two jobs to provide for my family but it never seem to be enough and as it stands I have exhausted all channels with which I can borrow money to buy it. It is sold for 18,500 but anything we can lay our hands on is perfectly okay please. Even 1k will go a long way to keep my baby girl alive please. Please my family, am on my knees, I am pleading for assistance to save my daughters life. I beg you in God's name please.. Any well meaning Nigerian whom God has touched their heart to help us, please help us. May the Almighty GOD bless all you lay your fingers on, amen.

What about Sharia law in some northern states?

Section 260 and 275 of the 1999 Nigeria constitution makes sharia law legal and constitutional. It is enshrined in the constitution.

It’s not a state law as you would have assumed.

of course yes,it won't apply in Lagos because that's one of the dubious ways of generating revenue for Lagos State, funny enough private car owners are always their targets, if truly they're sincere about having right vehicles on the road, many of those danfos are not road worthy.

Omo barracks, all you have to pay back Lagos with is hate. It's ungrateful comments like yours that make some of us patriotic Nigerians of Lagos extraction sound unintelligent when we make case for non-Yoruba and when reminded that your ilk of non Yoruba are filled with hate as reward for all the good Lagos did to them and their parents. The land has taken note of your ungrateful aniyan.

Lagos will not reward your uncouth and ungrateful kind again. It's not funny at all. What a disgusting ungrateful remark.

Lagos state should be dragged before the Supreme Court,
Not all legal pronouncements are about the constitution.
A lot of legal issues have nothing to do with the constitution for or against.

The Abuja order was based on the fact that Abuja has no law empowering the VIO officers to
operate outside their office.
Lagos has such law so it should be exempt.

It will be a different case if the constitution bars VIO from stop and search operations, it did not.

Listen to what our so called leaders say. Is Lagos laws above the Nigerian constitution? Why would VIO stop vehicles on the road? Their job is to inspect vehicles and issue road worthiness certificates.

If VIO cannot stop vehicles on the road as you ignorantly stated, then how are they supposed to inspect moving vehicles and issue road worthiness certificates?

Ignorance is a disease.
VIO can be found in several states across the country.
Lagos
Ogun
Oyo
Delta
just to name a few.
Legos VIO is backed by State Law unlike FCT.
also VIO is under concurrent list meaning States can control their own VIO if they choose to.
