Contact them on X and explain. They will try and rectify it. I am not sure if you have an Airtel sim for android normal normal, make you test it with Speedtest to even know how strong the network truly is. YOu may have to get ODU or just return their thing entirely.

This isn’t true. I have my router set to bypass, using another router as an extender and can still see this device has a nigerian ip address.

Mine is Berlin too, and I bypassed my Starlink with a NETGEAR router. I guess they had an issue with their Nigerian station and are rerouting our traffic through Germany. That’s why latency is so high tonight.

That would explain the unusual high latency. It seems to be faster too. Getting an average of 100+Mbps, which is unusual in Abuja around this time of the day. I am able to stream large files that I typically wouldn't be able to.

Personally, I don't play online games, so I would prefer they leave it on that German server.

Yup. Same observation here in Lagos. Looks like their European POPs are much more equipped to handle heavy traffic, which I somehow find insulting.

Looks like we’ve been getting subpar service from them all this time.

That's weird though. I tested something this morning...my speed was around 2MBPs, using WIFI connection. So, I switched to Ethernet cable (the yellow cable) to connect, and it jumped to 35mbps before settling at 22mbps. You also may want to try it if you have a laptop.

Something must be blocking the network in that your area...

The network issue is from that area then. I once experienced it with where I was living before things improved after a year or so. You may need to try the rooftop. How is DSTV/GOTV reception there?

Honestly with the hike in subscription fee, they single-handedly killed that business and made it eliteist.

Just give them till the end of this year to see their subscription base dropping significantly (predicting over 35 percent drop in subscription base)

If Starlink doesn't resolve this ridiculous performance issue of its service by next month, I will have to seek an alternative. Paying so much and not getting value is very annoying. If there's an issue with their base station here in Nigeria, they should provide an alternate solution like they did yesterday.
