Flooding the Nigerian Airspace with first generation and second generation antique "fighters" and "bombers", when all other countries that started with us are going for the fifth generation war planes, is becoming very irritatingly annoying. These things add to air pollution! All these fanfare for some scrap metals already designated as "monuments" in some western and Asian military museums? We can surely do better!

I think that the Nigerian military has suffered immeasurably, as it constantly focuses on internal insurrectionists. This has led to a situation where the military high command, seem to caliberate her operational standards based on realities associated with internal challenges, and has as a result forgotten to prepare effectively, a more sophisticated and capable military organisation, able to withstand a very dangerous foreign enemy.

I mean, can you fight the Iranians, Russians, Pakistanis, or even the Egyptians, with these wretched relics? Lets not bring the French or Chinese or even Brazilians into it.

You buy weapons for your theatre of operations. Nigerias area of interest is West Africa and the Gulf of Guinea. It is not going to fight Russia or Brazil or China. If Russia tries to use the Sahel countries as proxy Nigeria will take them out. Nigeria easily has force dominance over its area of interest.

And by the way these planes are not relics. Nobody does dog fights any more. If I see you first, you are gone. It's down to Avionics and weapons systems not speed. And the M34 has powerful stand off Avionics. Even the Israelis use it. For deep penetration attack Nigeria has the J series.

No other country in West Africa can match Nigeria and that is the point.

Nigeria has no interest fighting SA or Egypt or Algeria in Africa. What for?

Naf de crase. Your mates are using raphels, f35s, euro typhoon, f15 strike eagle, su35 and you're busy buying nonsense.

Small boy shut up.

Do you even know what Nigeria’s annual budget is?

Those jets you’re listing cost an absolute fortune to buy and maintain.

The National Assembly will never approve the purchase of those highly expensive jets when there are more pressing issues to resolve.

Criminals in government-sewn uniform deceiving themselves angry

Nigeria is not at war with any nation, so we don't need manned fighter jets and all those outdated aircrafts, what we have are internal and local criminals/terrorists/insurgents.

Invest in unmanned aircrafts known as UAVs to remotely track and eliminate terrorists, insurgents and bandits without exposing our soldiers to unnecessary untimely death by bastards parading themselves as terrorists and bandits.

Invest in communication jamming technologies to tap into these terrorists communications in order to understand their sponsors and collaborators and nip their attack from the bud before they execute it.

Invest in GPS and network tracking technology to accurately track their locations and arrest them unawares.

These are simple things to do but you guys will never hire experienced people like us to handle this security challenges because competent Nigerians like us that can handle this expertly are from the Igbo tribe that you guys love to hate and suppress, so it's better to hand over Nigeria's security to incompetent Hausa-Fulani Moslem extremists who derive Joy seeing Moslem terrorists overrun and overwhelm Nigeria's security.

We are talking about endemic poverty nationwide and you talking 5th generation gears. You talk like they cost same amount to procure. We haven't dealt with our hunger warfare, you speaking external warfare. Nigerians' think too highly of themselves. We should accept the fact that we are a third world country. Rich in resources but poor in liquidity. If we keep lamenting and dont make moves to salvage our country, 100 years from now, nothing will change.

It truly takes a mad politician to compare us with Iranians, Russians, Pakistanis or even Egyptians.

Are they all in the same league of highest extreme poverty, highest number of children out of school? Maybe they are suffering from inadequate electricity and water supply
