Stranded at PH out of their own doing.

When they touched PH, they had to be searched and cleared. Normal airport protocol so if they count that as part of the delay, then they are even more insane.

According to the NFF, they rallied round knowing they had 3hrs before the Libyans touched down in PH and probably another hour after they must have been cleared by the airport officials. They said they found a charter plane plan for them.

When that was rejected, the NFF brought up the bus plan. But the Libyans stubbornly turned it down. Obviously out of annoyance for the NFF nor covering the cost of the charter which is not even supposed to be up for discussion.

TheGoodJoe:

You are just regurgitating what we already know.

The point is that the Libyans were stranded at UYO. What contingency plans were made by the NFF to salvage the situation?

When it comes to situation as this, who is at fault is not the concern but how to remedy the situation.

So my point is, what were the active steps taking by NFF to remedy the situation?

If they didn't remedy the situation, how did they get Escort within 3 hours for them in PH?

Or you think you will just run to police station and pack police waiting for you?

Ask the goodjoe, how many hours drive is Uyo to PH.
3 hrs delay isn't too much to reroute logistics from Uyo to PH.

So what were the contingency actions by the NFF that led to the Libyans having to hire a bus to convey themselves.

Are we saying Rivers State Ministry of Sports or Rivers State Ministry of Youth could not help secure sound buses for them?

CAF has to appoint protocol referees who will ensure that this kind of shenanigans doesn't happen again

As I said, repeating what is already said repeatedly. I even posted it. How come the Libyans had to charter the bus and we did not provide buses for them?

I actually buy it. These North Africans have been at this nonsense even before I was born. My late dad told me same back in the days of Enugu Rangers vs Mehalla of Egypt. So I buy it wholeheartedly.

The Libyans failed to state specifically that they were going to land in PH from the moment the communications Dept of the NFF reached out to them. They never mentioned PH and said they will get back to the NFF when they are about to leave. So how is it the NFF's fault that they didn't follow the original plan to land in UYO??

TheGoodJoe:

I don't buy that narrative from the NFF. Hide travel plans as in how? They know Nigeria more than us?

So what about receiving them? So they could not communicate with the Rivers State Ministry of Sports to help on such Super short notice?

The story is not complete and needs clarification.

Was Rivers state a party to the match? So because they accidentally found themselves in PH, they automatically becomes Rivers State liability.

National team is not responsibility of Rivers state. They had no plan to bankroll the match.

NFF needs to clarify the actions they took to remedy the situation. At least, reception and clearance.

I repeat, we are lucky nothing happened to them, if not this story will not fly.

These guys were coming to play aatch that would be viewed by millions around the world and the NFF acted in such negligent manner because they did not abide by travel plans.

That is what contingency is about. Did the NFF reach out to the Rivers State Ministry of Sport to explain the challenges they were facing and didn't get a response?

They need to clarify these.

If what NFF said is 100% correct, they acted right.
3 hrs is short notice for someone to make logistics arrangement in another city that wasn't planned for.

We are lucky nothing happened? TheGoodJoe, they had security escorts provided by the NFF in front and behind. PH to Uyo is 4hrs journey I believe. So again, the Libyans are story twisters, crybabies and liars.

They came into Nigeria with the sole aim of painting a lie so as to find any excuse at all to do the nonsense they executed yesterday to our darling Super Eagles.

I believe the NFF communications dept cleared the air enough. More information can be sought when the messages and VNs the NFF said they have as regards the communications they had with the Libyans both before they touched down and after they touched down will throw more light on what specific steps they took but from the whole picture so far painted, the NFF didn't refuse to welcome the Libyans. The Libyans wanted to do things their own way with malicious intent of painting us as bad hosts.

1) We need to know and appreciate ourselves as people of a Nation. Historically some African countries (mostly North African countries)intentionally ill inform their host nation about arrival date , time and venue especially when the first keg is taking place in the host nation .This I know since 80s , so they can claim ill treatment( even when you are near perfect) and dish out same for the return leg. This Libya did!
2) Watch that match against us again , you will see that the 100% intention is to play draw. This incidence now made me understand their intention for the return leg.
3)In the group we are not desperate when they came for the match , so no need for us to
be hostile to them , coupled with the fact that we are going for the 2nd leg in an unstable nation.
4)Why would caf allow matches in country with dual government.

I understand need to get to the root cause of issues, but you cannot cure headache by cutting the child's head off.THIS LIBYA PLANNED DOING!!! So for me , there is no room to be asking about what caused the headache at this point.
Thank you

Listen again to Ademola Olajire. The Libyans didn't bloody communicate.

In Port Harcourt we have witnessed bullion van attack with patrol vehicles attacked too. So that security talk is just funny.

I repeat, NFF needs to clarify why those guys were abandoned and had to charter bus. Why no alternative arrangement was made?

This is where CAF needs to come in and state unequivocally that visiting teams must furnish their hosts details of their itinerary for any match. Even if there are changes they must inform their host immediately. This hide and seek games has been on for decades in the African game. These culture of fear of village people if we reveal our arrival time has got to stop in this age. This has been the practice of teams in the continent and CAF must put their feet on the ground with rules and sanctions to any erring side. Logistics requirements must be spelt out in CAF statues for any game in their purview. Just like Afcon and other competitions qualifiers must be seen as such by CAF with their officials on ground at all match venues days to matches. If more funding is required for these, it’s worth it for the development of the game. This is how we can forestall all the hearsays and different versions of stories in the future.

What other means of transport is available except road and air between PH and Uyo? Is train available? Is Witchcraft broom available?

The NFF gave them Air, they rejected it. Gave them road and they wanted it their own way. Who abandoned who?

TheGoodJoe, using words like the bolded "...why those guys were abandoned" shows you buy the lies of the Libyans. Well done on trying to stand out.

The NFF man said they requested for buses. Then they are telling us they rejected buses. There are holes in his Story. The NFF protocol team must clarify this.

3hrs is enough to get buses from UYO to Port Harcourt. They won't even need the Rivers Ministry of Sport for any support with three hours. So the 1hr info. was a lie from the NFF.

This is prejudice. NFF made their claim public. Has Libyan FA refuted the claim line by line? Until they do, you can't say you don't believe. Cases are decided by logic not emotions.

TheGoodJoe:
I still totally condemn the reckless action of the Libyan government. If they had any issue they should have addressed it with diplomatic measures rather than resorting to endangerment of our national assets.

That is where the Libyans are silly and not civilised, if they were truly aggrieved all they needed to do was to file complaints to CAF, even go ahead after the match in a press conference and use it as an excuse for their loss. We see coaches do this very well in post match interviews but looks like perhaps they don’t have very valid points to prove anything but resort to gangsterisim to moan their loss in Uyo and they must be punished for that if CAF is a serious organisation. Don’t FiFA punish coaches or players who harass refs even after the match to complain about how they feel?

I take it as the North African antics are lost on you. He said before they landed that they said they should get buses or whatever means they needed to move coz they are ready to leave PH once cleared.

If the NFF secured them a flight permit for their plane from PH to Uyo which was even outside the original protocol? Why would they reject it?? You expected them to pay. Isn't that ridiculous? Obviously the Libyans expected such too.

Then the NFF now resigned to buses and the Libyans played hard ball. So what is it again?

TheGoodJoe:

TheGoodJoe, you are funny. Wetin ORIGINALLY concern Rivers state ministry with the Libyans? Are they the ones expected to host the Libyans or the NFF?

Meanwhile this NFF clearly stated that they pressed some buttons to ensure they secured alternatives to get Libya out of PH so that they can reconnect with the original protocol welcome party in UYO.

This means they obviously made contacts with the relevant bodies on ground in Rivers to transport Libya.

That is why I said the nff needs to clarify the concrete steps taking to ensure a smooth arrival of the Libyan players at Uyo.

To make it easy, did they make any financial assistance to help convey them from Port Harcourt to Uyo.

Okay. I am done. So the Libyans are not lying but it is the NFF that are lying. You spotted the extent of the lies the Libyans concocted just hours back. You saw the extent to which these people are ready to take to paint a false picture.

This should be made viral. The video defence from Libya contained images from different sources. These people are evil.
