Rivers Assembly Crises: Amaewhule Writes INEC To Fill Vacant Seats by Upritman(m): 8:38am On Oct 16
The Rivers State House of Assembly led by the embattled Speaker, Martin Amaewhule has written a letter to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to fill the seats of four lawmakers loyal to Governor Sim Fubara that He had declared vacant.

Didactic Information Hut recalls that Amaewhule and his colleagues who are loyal to the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, had during their session on Tuesday declared the seats of four lawmakers loyal to Gov Fubara vacant.

Amaewhule had during the session also threatened to write to INEC to conduct fresh elections to fill the vacant seats.

In an earlier similar development, Rt Hon Edison Ehie, the then Speaker loyal to Gov Fubara had declared the seats of Amaewhule and Colleagues vacant for defecting to the All Progressives Congress, APC.

But Amaewhule in a twist of plans had denied their defection to the APC and now claim to be members of the PDP just to retain their seats.

In the letter dated 15th October, 2024, Amaewhule urged INEC to conduct fresh elections to fill the vacant seats within 90 days.

Meanwhile, the Rt Hon Victor Oko-Jumbo faction of the Rivers State House of Assembly has called on Nigerians to disregard the so-called declaration of legitimate lawmakers' seats vacant by Martin Amaewhule.

Oko-Jumbo in a press statement personally signed by Him recalled that following the defection of Martin Amaewhule and 24 others on 11th December, 2023, the then Speaker, Edison Ehie had declared their seats vacant on 13th December, 2023.

He reiterated the earlier call on INEC to conduct elections to fill the vacant seats of Amaewhule and his loyalists.

Didactic Information Hut reports that the political crises between Gov Fubara and his godfather, Nyesom Wike had thrown the oil-rich state into lingering political turbulence.

Whenever this oluku start to behave like this, their oga has bought one judgement to keep them floating.
Rivers State is a litmus test for this new CJN to prove is if she's a robot or not. If left for me, the Judiciary should keep dribbling all of them till 2027. Fubara should work with the one he wants while Wike work with the one he wants as far as it does not affect the developments strides by Fubara. How can a man boldly be angry to the glare of everyone cos his share was denied. He literally want to own Rivers State and sell it to whoever that will be loyal to his demands

Everyday another Drama. And the people who suffer the most from their grandstanding are busy hailing and praising the 2 vagabonds in power. Nobody is interested in governance and service to society.

If Fubara loses the two cases bordering on defection of the assembly members at the supreme court, which is looking very likely cos he's lost at the lower court and court of appeal, he can kiss his governorship seat goodbye.

Fubara is not the type of leader south south state needs.

I hate politicians who betray their predecessors who performed well. They never work and they will definitely betray the ordinary people who supported them.

Obaseki is a classic example.

Where are all these nonsense related to the poor Masses?

Is very obvious that these Politicians are not only selfish but greedy and ruthless to the plights of the innocent masses ....

Wike who single handedly manipulated the Presidential election in River State for the first time to favour APC in a PDP state is now the Minister of FCT....

The then Governor that EFCC was chasing all about for money laundering is now the Senate President....

So many nonsense in this T-pain regime , the arrogance and show of power is just demeaning the sincere progress of this Nation from this wicked Administration....

Have you asked what the Predecessor was asking from him that in one way may cause more hardship on the masses he is protecting?

Leave Obaseke, a Governor that won't work won't work, is not all about betrayal...

Chris Ngige betrayed those that put him in Governor as Governor of Anambra State then, but today, he is the best Governor that has worked with the masses under serious threats and within a short time in office....

A Governor that has the spirit of God and feels for the masses will always deliver....

You don't cause wars and division when your boy betrayed you, you leave him to his fate and move on ...

They are just playing to the gallery. Even it's clear to the blind that these people are comedians. You can't fight the executive governor and win the case. Wike the drug addict should just give in and let go. He has eaten enough and it's time for him to leave except he want to be thoroughly ridiculed.

If you leave that foolish boy alone you'll end up sending a wrong message to the younger generation that betrayal is a virtue.

Fubara is not a saint. If he could stand and watch while Wike deployed everything he had to ensure Fubara becomes governor, including allegedly rigging and suppressing labour party votes, Fubara should not suddenly turn around to pretend to be a saint.

If you are a thief or fraudster, you don't just tell the world that your boss who taught you is a fraudster. You confess your sins and you return the ill gotten wealth to the victims were possible.

Fubara should confess to joining Wike to rig election if they did and Fubara should renounce the governorship seat as well since it was gotten through ill means

Also, those who listen to Fubara's narrative that Wike is demanding billions of Rivers state money from him are very dumb. They should donate their brains to scientists who study stupidity so that a cure can quickly be found.

Is Wike hungry? A former minister, two term governor and current minister is demanding billions from you. How convenient.

I wonder why you're not listening to the side of the story of those who are now against Fubara after working for him.

It is on record that Fubara smuggled his brother/cousin into his cabinet after successfully chasing away 27 lawmakers out of 30 using his power as governor.

It is on record that Fubara did not want to conduct LGA elections. Instead he waited for the LGA chairmen tenure to expire, same LGA chairmen that mobilised votes to get him elected, and Fubara appointed caretaker LGA chairmen. If not for supreme court judgement that stipulated that caretaker LGA chairmen are illegal and LGA funds will be withheld, I'm sure Fubara will be looting Rivers resources now through caretaker LGA chairmen he appointed in Rivers.

Less than 3 months in office and Fubara was already on a collision course with the state house of assembly members...is the state house of assembly no longer an independent arm of government meant to checkmate the executive?

So, Wike calling Fubara to order and asking him to work with those who got him elected has translated to demanding for billions of Rivers money, a lie you're proud to parrot around without evidence.

Go and check yourself. I don't pray your kids inherit your sense of reasoning.

We will know when the case of their defection gets to court. I would have prefer they remain calm, do a back door discussion for their salaries. I don't see them winning this battle.
