One-Chance Kidnapping Gangs On Rampage In Abuja by Kelklein(m): 8:39am On Oct 18, 2024
One-Chance Kidnapper groups are currently threatening lives and livelihoods in the Federal Capital Territory.. This post is to serve as a caution to all residents.. and also to all the Security Agencies headquartered in the Federal Capital Territory and An appeal for action (SOS) by the Authorities in the Federal Capital Territory.

Abuja residents are losing their lives and properties to these daredevil groups.

I just lost a cousin to the cold hands of these one-chance gangs last night after they had collected some ransom.

Their modus operandi, they pick an unsuspecting person waiting to board a taxi, then along the Expressway they overpower them into submission. Dispossess them of their valuables and force them to call their relatives to send them ransome which they redeem at ATM and POS points.

They operate 24/7 along the Expressways but more during the evening period between the hours of 7pm and 10pm.

They target more of women than men.

In Abuja, they operate mostly along Kubwa Expressway and Lugbe Airport Expressway outwards the City Centre. More on the Airport Expressway. They subject their victims to various kinds of torture and violations in order to make them submit. Some weak ones lost their lives to these tortures and most of them die as they are heartlessly pushed out of their moving vehicles after being robbed.

They operate mostly in the evening period when people close from work during peak hour when many are stranded on the road. Abuja do not have standard Mass Transit system hence many commuters to the outskirts of the city where majority of the population reside, rely on private cars to reach their destination. Their activities have been heightened lately by the current situation of the country with many commuters left stranded on the roads looking for affordable means to get to their destination.

My Security tips to Residents
..always board a taxi at loading points in the Busstop.

..avoid night commuting if you can. Though this is unavoidable by those that run evening shifts are various workplaces.

..board taxi as a group of 2 or 3 with someone you know.. a colleague or something. Don't be the only one that enter a taxi from a Busstop at night.

..as a female, if a taxi stops and all occupants are all males, don't enter. Some would say even some of the One-chance gangs have females among them. Don't enter, it's better to be safe than sorry.

..if you stop a taxi at late evening and ALL the occupants are staring at their Phones.. run.. na them.

..Be alert at all times and look for signs immediately you board a taxi. If your instinct tells you all is not right. Trust it and go down. Don't be in a taxi and start pressing your phone. It would distract you from being alert.

..On no account should you enter a taxi with tinted glasses, or ALL of the windows winded down at the same time at the point of pickup, they don't want you to see the tints.

A Call On the Security
This is also a wake-up call on the Various Security agencies that abound the FCT, esp the Police, DSS and NIA. Please Kindly carry out covet operations to nip this threat to the lives of Abuja residents in the mud. Anyone or their family members can fall victim to these. This should be declared a State of Emergency. I know the capabilities of the Security Agencies in Abuja and I understand they already know the operandi of these guys

I want to suggest putting a bounty or ransome on their heads for anyone with information that would lead to their capture. They would all be rounded up in days. Searchlight should also be shone on those criminal elements that call themselves 'agberos' that abound around Berger and Banex axis, their modus operandi hijacking innocent people's cars after smoking various kinds of drugs looks alot like those of the One-chance operators.

A Call On the Government.
The lack of a standard Mass Transit system in the FCT has fueled this menace confronting the residents especially those residents that commutes daily to the satellite towns to and fro the City centres to work. It's hightime the much promised CNG Buses are brought in to bridge this gap. The lightrail system recently launched by the government is very inadequate because it clearly passes through where most people cannot access them.

The indefatigable FCT minister, Barrister Nyesom Wike, and the Senator Representing the FCT, Senator Ireti Kingibe... please Save Our Souls 🙏🏽🙏🏽.

A concerned Abuja Resident whose family member just fell a victim. 😔🥲

Abuja people and government need to see this.

The rate at which this menace has increased lately is beyond comprehension and one minister would say he has performed.

Noise makers everywhere.

A lady that narrated her story lately at Brekete entered one chance twice in two weeks in the same Abuja.

They almost killed her.

Nigerian major cities have been setup to become one of the world's most dangerous places to live.

Hardship combined with corruption and absence of the will to fight insecurity have serious consequences

When I was saying thus one chance is more important for wike to tackle instead of road people were insulting me. Other states have bad roads but they barely have this one chance epidemic. Wike needs to stop building roads and Channel the money to mass transit bus that can be controlled by nurtw is possible. The lagos model although annoying us the reason there is less crime in lagos despite the population.

Kidnapping is the new oil money. If you're not involved in it on a low, omo i don't know what you're doing with your life. And the fact that you can now take ransom with crypto currency that is untraceable makes things easier.
What do you mean

So they were angry, hungry and desperate under pdp too.

One chance has been around for ages in Abuja.. I can recount tales from as far back as 2008

My own was in 2012. I was lucky. I guess God said it was not me that day.

Sometimes it's greed that makes people victims. I think back them most victims fell to their trap due to greed but now they are violent. Using weapons unlike before it was the " I carry my oga dollars for booth" method.

Abuja is a wacked capital city. It has no functional mass transit system and no recognized bus stops or public convenience. You need to see how people justle for rides to and from work, how they are squeezed like sardines in the available commercial taxis or the few molue buses. It is evident all across the city and these miscreants have taken advantage of this. It is very unfortunate that people keep falling victims to one chance and losing their valuables and lives in the process. Sadly the police always say they are "on top of the situation" but things remain the same.

Wike is busy fighting for structures that doesn't exist in Rivers State why insecurity is the order of the day in Abuja. All Abuja metropolis traffic 🚦 light are not working hence causing traffic jams at most junction.
