GloriousGbola: 3-month ultimatum is still madness. Some people struggled and hustled to buy land last year and this year before the economy ran them down. So, they should lose their land now because they can't develop it in 3 months, in this economy? We have a culture of oppression in Nigeria that is not only seen in government to citizen interaction but also citizen to citizen interaction. Oppression has been normalized in the country. Dat na why blatantly oppressive actions are being justified. What he should do is carry out thorough investigations and treat each case on its own merit, not carry out a disguised land grab/fundraising venture. 15 Likes 2 Shares |

GloriousGbola: You are minimizing the tough and thankless job of mentoring young women and pouring wealth of knowledge into them. This is why i stopped it. One hustles and sweats all day and all night, going up and down and back and forth, mentoring and molding future women leaders, and yet all one gets is calumniation, vituperation, condemnation, and defamation. It is a cold world we are living in. 5 Likes 1 Share |

I went to read about black September,I now understand why Arab countries refuse to admit Palestinian refugees, those people are violent even to their own kind , imagine trying to overthrow the king of Jordan, forcing him to seek temporary alliance with Israel just to eliminate terrorist from jordan. I now understand why Egypt border is more fortified than that of US. if they give Palestinians an inch, they'll become a tool for Iran, they should never be allowed to leave their cesspit. People don't know what they're supporting, Palestinians are cursed right from their forefathers. |

afrodoc2: Thank you doc for saying the bolded the way it is. We have a culture of preparing a fertile ground for oppression to germinate among the citizenry ; that's why citizens will always justify callous decisions taken by people in government even if such decisions will not favor the citizens in any way. I mean how can a government that has consistently agreed that there is hardship in the country suddenly give people 3 month ultimatum to develop lands and the citizens start justifying their actions? Maybe because the common man feels only the elite will be affected and they deserve it. Abi? 3 Likes |

BlueRayDick: Everybody who has the opportunity practices some form of oppression in Nigeria. Gatemen at parastatals, bank tellers, real estate agents insisting on outlandish fees before showing you the prospective property (that they already know does not match your criteria), landlords, your boss at work (not even the top dawg o but just ordinary supervisor), the people that issue registration cards at government hospitals, plus anybody and everybody that you have to pass through to get a document, job, or money. We just dey oppress ourselves. That is the reason why people will see tyranny and call it "action governance". 7 Likes |

It seems a lot of people don't know how far off the naira fell in recent years, that's why they still find a way to still look for positives where there is none under APC rule. I saw the attached post on Twitter and just shook my head at how the value of naira has continued to depreciate and people getting poorer while they are being made to believe they were living fake lives before now. For context ; I served when corpers were paid 19,800(4ck that! they only paid exact 19,800 in camp while they paid 19,600 for the remainder of the service year) just like the author of the tweet and it was more than enough to cater for my needs. Inside that 19,800 on a monthly basis I was able to buy rice ( foreign rice o, not half stone half rice they call local rice now), beans spaghetti, yam, sweet potatoes, cornflakes, milo, peak milk refill, palm oil, groundnut oil, goat meat ( Yes, I dey use 200 goat meat cook one week soup), cabin biscuit, bread, at least 6 sardines per month, fish, pepper and ocassional Amala eat out. In addition to the above I was able to save as much as 97k after paying my transport fare back to Lagos at the end of the service year. The 97k served me for the 2 months I spent in the labor market after POP before I landed my first job. It was inside that savings I bought shirt and trouser for work and still transport myself before first salary show o. It will be a miracle if anybody getting paid 77k today as a corper can do half of this during and after their service year. 7 Likes

obainojazz: I no dey oppress anybody. I'll rather fight against injustice, oppression, just like Putin, Xi, Modi is fighting for a multipolar world order, an international system that respect the Sovereignty of a state, where justice and obedience to international law is the watchword.

monerozi5590:I saved around that amount myself (got state alawee of like 5k for four months), we probably served about same time from those his estimates... Zero allowance from home, Pategi, Kwara State. My guy that served in Niger and was getting state alawee and doing private lessons came home with almost 200k, was in a shared flat, his 200K savings was a big deal, more than enough to go and entire year without work sef. This was just a little over 10 years ago. 2 Likes |

Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Theflint1(m): 7:40am On Oct 23 |
monerozi5590:13/14. Not too much was involved o, e get how you go take manage and and you'd pull that off with just the 19,800. |
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 7:51am On Oct 23 |
monerozi5590: lol😂 Which other things? I only got 5k for about 5 months from my PPA which was paid long after I had finished NYSC ( because they requested for our accounts when we were leaving after promising payment). So I didn't add that since it never joined what I got during the service year to amass the 97k. It's like u people don't know how the value of naira feel off. Flight from Asaba to Abuja cost below 18k in 2015 to over 158k in 2024. That's like over 900% increment. Meanwhile corpers' salary only increased by around 350%. I guess that why it's difficult for you to believe. And food was really cheap back then. A corper can afford to buy bag of rice for 10k and still have 9,800 as savings. E shock you the damage Buhari and APC did to this country right? 4 Likes

Theflint1: A bag of Thai Parboiled rice cost N10k back then and a corper earned 19,800. That alone is enough to show u how it was easy to live good life. When we do corpers party, we would buy a full matured shegoat for between 4,500 to 5,000 and everywhere go stew. Nowadays 7k cannot even buy one full goat leg from the butcher 3 Likes |
