If helicopter is the only means of transportation to get to a location, I'll forfeit it.

What then is the benefit of the Helicopter Underwater(HUW) training drill that they go through if not a single person survived? sad
It is useful if it is a controlled ditch.

Sad news.

The S76 is a twin engine aircraft that should be able to execute safe landing in water if one engine fails. There's also the autorotation trick they teach pilots if both engines fail.

May their souls rest in peace.

May heaven continue to bless Captain Bimbo Ajakaiye, wherever she is. She saved our lives that year using one of those tricks when she lost her two engines.

It is tragic, that air crash is coming back.
May the soul of the departed, Rest in peace. Not a nice way to go out.

This chopper in question was a six seater chopper and more of chartered chopper and not a commercial chopper. The minister needs to provide further information on why an executive chopper is used to convey offshore worker particularly NNPC offshore fields. Who approved that chopper? The likes of Bristow and Caverton helicopters are there but no, they won't use them. Now they have killed innocent young Nigerians due to their greed. God dey!
. the aircraft was modified for executive used, originally it was meant to carry 10 ,so i don't think your assumptions were right the accident should be investigate first before conclusion

6 spanners down! May the brave souls of the departed rest in perfect peace.

That's why I tell people that the risk associated with offshore E & P outweighs the pay. I begged to be moved back to the Lagos office after years of offshore work. The transportation and operational risks are too much. If chopper doesn't crash, the well may blow out..too much risk mehn but it's a rare privilege to have the experience still.
bro I don't mind, I need that kind of work... Life is all about risk

I get this chopper phobia every time I'm going back to work....

From Chevron Warri to Agbami FPSO is an hour flight..... But it always seem like a day journey....

From Agbami to Lagos is two hours....

At least Bristow helicopters are keeping safety standard....

Even the brace situation becomes useless in situations like this because you tend to forget the training in emergency situation like this...

You can imagine how much has been spent after they died. Thats the case of any Nigerian life.

Nobody sef wan carry blame. Ministry say emergency say, that safety say.

What's the fate of their families?

Forget many drama. And see to the better lives of their families. If FG cares ooh

I hate helicopters with passion. I do not get why people enjoy riding them. Even the military ones are not entirely safe. I get the vertical takeoff and landing are convenient and that one could land on a helipad, but dang it. If anything happens to the blade in the air, it is done...the aerodynamics of a helicopter are too fragile. It's for a similar reason I would avoid a single-engine plane... a small failure; it is SOS. May their souls rest in peace.

With the recent helicopter crashes both home and abroad, I think it's safe to say it's not the safest means of transportation and people should avoid it if they have options...

•Kobe Bryant - Helicopter crash- USA
•Herbert Wigwe- Helicopter crash- USA
•Patrick Yakowa (former Kaduna Gov)- Helicopter crash- Nigeria
•Nigeria Air Force Helicopter Crash

Now this... 😞

You can't say that. circumstances could be different, they could have died on impact.

Unless die to high blood pressure from sudden fear and anxiety, nobody is suppose to die when an helicopter hits the water.. Hitting the water is that safest option for the pilot
