Abia South Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe has slammed President Bola Tinubu’s cabinet reshuffle, accusing him of showing the Southeast “renewed shege” (suffering).

Abaribe criticized the replacement of Minister of Women Affairs Uju-Ken Ohanenye with Bianca Ojukwu as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs.

Abaribe expressed dissatisfaction with the reshuffle, stating it doesn’t feel like progress. “For my constituents, nothing has changed. They call it ‘Renewed Shege’ not ‘Renewed Hope’.”

The lawmaker alleged Tinubu breached the constitution by neglecting federal character in the reshuffled cabinet.

He said, “The president has breached it for the last 18 months. We thought that with these changes, maybe there will be some adjustments that will also put some balm on what is going on in the minds of people from the South East.

“I want to tell everyone that the Igbos want fairness and equity, which are in the constitution. Treat us as you are treating everybody else.”

Politics of today, you reap where you sow.
SE decided to be Obedient to the chore.
His chosing Bianca is also a political game.
Haven't seen any major technocrat that can make positive impact in the changes made.
I expect major ministries like finance, budge planning to also be affected.
Including CBN governor.
That's when we can be sure of change in the financial sector that will reflect on our economy.

Abaribe that has not erected not even one kolanut tree in Aba since his 50 years in the house but his prick always get hard when he wants to confuse ndigbo with tribal issues to divert away from him . I saw abaribe one time in palms mall in Victoria island using constituents money to eat one nice juicy chicken lap dripping with nice sauce, I wanted to walk up to him and say abaribe why are you using constituent money to eat juicy chicken, but I decided to respect myself that day. The reshuffle was for the North and SW.

The SE was not represented in the new cabinet.

The 18 months cabinet was 1st of its kind in Nigeria history.

The new cabinet might also be for the North and SW.

The SE should be represented in the next cabinet reshuffle.

This man always doing as if he is fighting the Igbo cause.

Everybody is seeing the Shege in Nigeria and not just SE only - ministerial position is not what is paramount. He should focus on getting the president to do his work

I have come to see it that appointing someone from your zone does not confer any advantage as long as the country is not moving forward and everybody is struggling. It only favors the politicians.

If tomorrow, Tinubu appoints this Abaribe as minister or gives him a juicy post, he would start singing a different tune. Leave politicians and their antics.

It beats my imagination when the Igbos complain that others are motivated by tribal sentiments when the only reason why they keep voting for most of their non performing leaders is simply because of their open bigotry. 😆
