I understand the gravity of his mistake but let us please temper justice with mercy since he has apologized and shown remorse. He is a relatively young guy and will learn a serous lesson from this his misadventure and misbehavior.

I pray that his victim(s) will find it in their hearts to forgive him. Sincerely, it's a very difficult place to be when you have ever experienced the humiliation and injustice similar to what that Bolt guy suffered in his hands and the mere thought that others may have suffered same or even worse form of injustice from him but got no justice.

I hope many others have learnt from how pride and arrogance brought this young man down and will not boast about in their wisdom, might and riches.

It's like saying recording a criminal activity is a breech of a criminal's privacy 🙄. Let's assume it is an offence on the part of the bolt driver. It is only a civil case. While the charges against the lawmaker are all criminal cases. Not one but up to 4 from the video evidence (physical/verbal assault, threat to life, abuse of office and institutions, impersonation, unlawful detaining, false accusation, misleading of law enforcement agency, violation of the bolt driver fundamental rights by denying him his freedom, etc)..... so by the time you do your math, you will come to realise that a smaller crime can not erase a bigger crime. Imagine he killed the bolt driver, so your argument will be that e acted because he was being recorded?

I totally agree with you that he will get out of this relatively easily and nothing much will come out of the case. However that does not change the basic facts of the case.
1. He was totally and expressly aware that he was being recorded and nowhere in the video did he say his grievance was because he was being recorded.
2. The video presented enough evidence of assault and battery against "Honourable Senator"
3. His behavior failed the test of what a reasonable person would have said/done. The threats and physical were not commensurate to the issue on ground. It was just an unnecessary show of power.
4. There is something called self control and it was obvious that "Senator Peller" did not get enough share before that performance.

I am yet to see or hear of an apology to the driver. I saw a video of him apologizing to his colleagues in the HoR. That is not out of place since he disgraced them, but nowhere in that video was any reference made to the driver. Maybe I didn't see it well sha.
