Since we prioritize sharing of resources over production of essentials and the leaders are always taking lion's share of what is shared, we have to see some tough times. Production of what improves living standard is low and dwindling against growing needs.

The northern governor just rejected a tax reform bill that rewards states for progress made in VAT generation. In Principle, they are saying any state spending money to create a conducive environment for industrial scale value-adding activity or business is wasting her time to a large extent.
So therefore eat your Kosai, Buns, Yam and Potato like that.
Besides this pricing is like that of southern states some 18-24 months ago.
How is the VAT generated now? It seems you know nothing about tax matters but you want to comment. All VAT generated from all the 774 local governments are always remitted through the headquarters of any company. Now most of the headquarters are located in Lagos alone. So in essence all taxes are from Lagos irrespective of transaction location.
Check your bank account tax remittance it is never from the branch you are operating it is always from The headquarters of your bank. So in essence the consumption/service is only Lagos.
If the government can break every company/ service sector into individual states the issue will not even arise. But realistically it is virtually impossible to do VAT remittance state by state as the resources the company will need will be very huge.
Many people only remember alcohol vice in their thinking. But funny enough the northern leaders are clamouring for the same thing let the remittance be at the location of the transaction or services. So alcohol will not be part of their revenue as they don't have any transaction on that so nil vat

This is exactly how you know them!
Once you criticise any government or Northern Nigeria policy and stance, they turn rabid.
@Codetemplar pls don't stress yourself explaining policies to him, he is too daft to understand.

The North is the main problem of Nigeria. They do not want progress, and they refuse the South to grow. Killing parasites.

Don’t mortgage your future with “free” 2K5, they said no. Now it is recording akara and bread they bought for less than 1K and posting online. What’s shocking there?
This graph was plotted many months before election and the slope communicated extensively. Those reading the memo now should please stop shouting. “You were told”…right?

Why arent the other states attracting head offices? That's the big deal here. They dont want to create the environment but want the fruits. I support a law to force VAT remission on a state by state basis for company covering many states with their services but there must be a reqard for whoever brings about the most conducive business atmosphere. Production or industry is not a child's play.

Everything. VAT sharing irrespective of contribution promotes idleness and low production which in turn drives prices up. So enjoy your Kosai, buns, yam & potato like that.

fuckJones:

(A case study of Nigeria citizens & their elected oppressors).

During the Soviet dictatorship of Joseph stalin. He was a brutal dictator with mind of his own. On one fateful day, stalin came to Politburo meeting with a live chicken. Standing in front of audience, He started to pluck the feathers of the live chicken off one by one. The chicken trembled in pain, blood tricking out of its pores. It gave out grievous cries, but stalin being a cruel dictator continued without remorse plucking the feathers out until the chicken was completely Unclad. After which, he threw the chicken on the ground. The Unclad chicken was staggering in pain. stalin goes into his pocket and from his pockets, he took out some chicken food and started to throw it at the poor & hapless creature. The poor chicken in pain started eating and stalin started walking towards his seat. As he walked away, he kept dropping some feeds on the floor & the chicken followed him and sat feeding from his feet.

Joseph stalin then turned to members of his political party leadership. He said, "This chicken represents the people". "You must disempower them, brutalise them, beat them up, starve them and then leave them". "If you do this, go into your pocket & give them peanuts when they are in that helpless and desperate situation, they will blindly follow you for the rest of their life, worshiping you". "They will think you are a hero forever. They will forget that, you're responsible for their sorrowful situation in the first place." Breath taking, isn't it ?

Now! Take a look at all the people some Nigerians are busy defending on social media. Take a look at those they call their heroes. They are the same people who plunged Nigeria into the situation she is. They are the same people who are responsible for their predicaments. Did you see the numbers of people that throng to Saraki's House during this Sallah period to go collect peanuts? People trooping to Bola Ahmed Tinubu Foundation offices to collect branded One kilo bag of Rice & Noddles. Did you see the number of people of all ages who troop out to welcome Ex- convict James Ibori to South South! Do you see the number of handle mop following obi as if he is a seat? what of the one following dino malaye?

Your guess is as good as mine. Nigerians kill those they should defend and defend those they should kill! Pass to all your contacts & let your Political & Religion Leaders read, understand & digest.

Early last year, I can not finish 300 naira Akara alone. But today, 4 small balls of Akara is sold for 200. The recent increase in the price of vegetable Oil has made matters worst.

When Funke Olakurin, daughter of Afenifere leader, Pa Reuben Fasoranti was murdered instead of Bola Tinubu to make sure that the perpetrators were brought to book, he ended up making fun of the death of the young lady by turning everything into tribalism by showing his hates for Igbos.

Tinubu has never spoken against the deadly activities of Fulani herdsmen across the country

https://twitter.com/i/status/1150428613751320577

Mrs Olakunrin died of gunshot wounds in July 2019 after her vehicle was attacked by armed men, suspected to be marauding Fulani bandits whose violent activities had reached a frightening level across the southwest states.

Those arrested suspects include Lawal Mazaje, 40, from Felele area of Kogi State; Adamu Adamu, 50, from Jada area of Adamawa State; Mohammed Usman, 26, from Illela area of Sokoto State and Auwal Abubakar, 25, from Shinkafi area of Zamfara State....

However, the leader of the team, identified only as Tambaya, and three others are yet to be found.

Tambaya has been declared wanted by the police and he is said to be capable of communicating in Hausa, Fulfude and Pidgin English.
