Kemi Badenoch on Saturday won the vote to become the UK Conservatives’ new leader, replacing Rishi Sunak who quit after the party’s disastrous showing in July’s general election.

Here Vanguard highlights five (5) things to know about the new Conversative Party leader

Political Career: Kemi Badenoch is a prominent British politician who has served as a Member of Parliament (MP) for Saffron Walden since 2017. She has held various government positions, including Minister for Equalities and Secretary of State for International Trade.

Background: Badenoch was born in Wimbledon, London, to Nigerian parents. Her childhood was spent in part of the United States of America, and in Lagos, Nigeria. She returned to the United Kingdom at the age of 16. She was educated at the University of Sussex and has a background in technology and finance.

Conservative Party Member: As a member of the Conservative Party, Badenoch is known for her strong stance on issues like free speech, education reform, and economic development. She has gained recognition for her views on promoting diversity of thought within the party.

BTW:

Having under-aged northern children in detention, honestly, is the height of heartlessness against the north by president Tinubu. I have said it before: Tinubu doesn't mean well for northerners in particular and Nigerians in general. Even the Niger-Delta is not spared.

This is the best time for the north, south-south, and Southeast to form an alliance to oust Tinubu come 2027.

Tinubu has turned himself to a demi-god; hence, doesn't give a damn whether Nigerians are facing hardship or not.

He doesn't give a damn about the north, the east or the south-south. Little wonder he has continued to appoint only his kinsmen from the southwest to his cabinet.

Kemi is never going to lead UK Conservative Party to Election !

This is the same pattern when the party realized there's no election in sight.

No one is ready to engaged as opposition leader until a year to the election.

She'll be removed with Vote of No Confidence a year to the election in 2027.

Hmmmmm , I have been thinking the type of uproar that would have happened if the same scenario presented it self in the south west like when Zik contested to become the leader of the in western region before tribalism birthed in Nigeria.

What was zik even contesting before the carpet crossing of the 60s and the birth of tribalism in the Nigerian electoral space.
