So if the concerned tertiary workers hadn't gone on strike, they wouldn't have been paid because of one anti-workers' policy of "no work, no pay"?

Although, to be fair to President Tinubu, the fault is not entirely his.

This is just one of the many problems created and left behind by President Buhari for President Tinubu to solve.

Since government is a continuum, it's imperative that Tinubu does the right thing.

Kudos to the government for finally resolving this protracted struggle by the striking workers.

The unions are speaking the language they understand. Why not show this commitment before the strike?

Which great gesture? Must they go on strike before getting their entitlement? Government always taking us for fools.

It’s better than letting them go on strike for weeks or longer

Why strike seems to be the only way of resolving matters in Nigeria? Government keeps deceiving its workers by spurious negotiation until strike is used to secure their demands.

Why can't they at least pay 2 months, and later balance the remaining 2 months? undecided

I think they don’t want too much money in the system at a time. They will release the rest money gradually . The aim is to prevent inflation .

A very confused FG entity. Let's hear what NASU and SSANU have to say. Does that mean that strike still continue?
there is nothing to say, you paid one of four months, so the strike will continue, even the one month they paid, more than half of the staff are yet to see not to talk of ridiculous payments of 4k, 14k and some other amounts that don't tally with what you received in 2022.

which too much money? the value of your 100k in 2022 cannot be compared to the present time, so what are we talking about ?

It is suppossed to be a 4 months arrears not 2 months, but the stricking Unions agreed that if the government can pay for 2 months they will call of the strike and resume negotiation on when the remaining 2 months will be paid.

I understand you well, the point is what that saiary could do back then can't do up to one third now, so it won't make any significant difference to the inflation rate currently.

It will, because the market women are constantly wanting to know if salary has been increased so that they can increase cost of food items.
