In all honesty, there's little to what only me can do. And the last time I enquires about the cost of clearing and the likes for 5 acres of land was 550k, and that was early this year.

Not when you are spending more than your gain. Businesses are crumbling now, many are folding up. I saved up to that with so much hunger and with the look of things I will soon spend it finish. Hunger no be your mate oo.

I understand, but I will suggest you use your knowledge and skills to get started. There is something you have that someone is ready to pay for, learn how to sell yourself, sell it and raise the fund you need in tractions.

Oga use your 40k take start, even if na half acres, nobody go give you loan to start a business.
Being a graduate of Agricultural science does not guarantee you that you will be a good farmer without been into practice, most pple benefiting from Agro-business never been to school or read agric in school.

Why don't you partner with others with the same vision on Nairaland? Look for people with similar ideas to yours and partner with them. Then you can share proceeds with them. What do you think about that ?

You can get someone to clear the land and then you pay for making mounds and provide seeds. Then you and your partner contribute money for weeding etc. You then share profits. Cheers.

Hmmmm... I really appreciate your advice, it makes a lot of sense only if people can be trusted to be partnered with. This is Nigeria, full of scammers, cunning people, evil and wicked people. You can't just pick up a random person and or a stranger to do this kind of business with. So that at the end of the day you won't have yourself to blame. People can't really be trusted, especially in this Nigeria! How I wish I can get a trustworthy person to do this with.

Invest it in my cassava plantation. It would get me some herbicides. I am willing to be generous to give you 400,000 Naira by December 2025 if you invest 125,000 Naira. With the 500,000 Naira you can start a few acres of your own in 2026 and continue to expand from there

my advice with the 40k get tomato seed, do the nursery yourself cultivate less than 1 plot manage it well during harvest you can make more if properly manage then you grow with it

i think we can work together if you don't mind i'm also in osun state osogbo to be precise, we can work on planting together i dont have access to land i only cultivate few plot in apatere close to iwo
