I say let me bring to you reality on ground in Nigeria since you are out of touch with it. This is the terrible conditions most of our major roads are in. Now should the FG neglect it and still go ahead with Lagos - Calabar highway?

You can walk and chew gum, You can construct new roads and repair bad roads at the same time. It must not be one or the other unless you are being sly

There is no country in the world where they are building new roads and do not have bad roads, There is no where the are building new houses and don't have bad houses,

The other day, the clown of the thread was on a fool's errand sweating and defending the arrest and inhumane treatment of minors claiming they were all adults but his oga has rightly acknowledged they were indeed minors and have ordered their release.

Omo, there are terrible roads in this country ! You just made me remember the roads that lead to the north from the west here. When people go to Agege, Berger, Alabo rago, mazamaza, etc to enter bus say dem dey go north, I always admire their courage travelling those death traps disguised as roads.

If u are going to the north and u follow the Jebba-Kotangora route down to Niger down to other parts of northwest, u go see shege right from the West down to the north.

From all those Oyo town, Ogbomosho, Jebba, Mokwa, Kontagora etc, u go see pothole wey go shock u. I don't even know how government will not fix those roads and start a trillion naira construction of a coastal road.

That is literally me when i see them too after my experience on travelling from ilorin to Sokoto in early 2020 just before Covid-19 lockdown. Some few kilometres into Niger state and we were completely away from civilization on a dusty unmarked road in some remote parts of the state for 2hrs plus. You cannot get anything that value has been added to,only farm produce not even pure water. As i like adventure reach, I swore i was going to fly back when am returning, only for lockdown to hinder my plans. There are just too many terrible roads in this country to ignore for a new road.

Following the outrage that trailed the arrest and arraignment of minors over the #EndBadGovernance protests held in several parts of the country in August, President Bola Tinubu has directed the immediate release of all the detainees.

Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, disclosed this to State House correspondents on Monday after the President swore in seven newly appointed ministers cleared by the Senate.

The minister said the President ordered the immediate release of the minors without prejudice to whatever legal processes that are ongoing.
The President also directed the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction to immediately see to the welfare of those minors, and also take part to ensure their smooth reunion with their parents or guardians wherever they are in the country

Nothing to see here.

After BATists don exhaust every excuse/justification in their Arsenal to defend the illegal docking and incarceration of minors ; their principal has ordered the unconditional release of the minors .

I have plied those roads and worse. Is that not the Eyenkorin Mokwa, Jebba road?

So why should govt stop development of new roads when it can do both, develop new roads and fix terrible roads. Show me any govt that stopped new developments because they had existing bad ones

Those roads are terrible bro; Niger to Sokoto … chai!

Those roads are one of the reasons I promise myself that I don’t want to have anything to do that wil take me to that part of the country except the roads have been fixed .

The fact that we have several of roads like that in different parts of the country is worrisome

Attached is the state of Sagamu-Benin expressway. Punch newspaper had to do a story on it on September 28 2024 before Governor eleyi of Ogun state went on a site visit and then promised to commence repair works

E get some things wey person no suppose defend.
According to our laws, those kids are not even allowed to be detained for more than 48hrs without charging them to court.

Keeping them in the same police custody with adult is also illegal.
Bringing them for trial at a federal high court is also illegal.
