could it be functional after getting stitched or are you making a failed attempts to mock the 12yr old ..

I think if they fix it back fast enough, it can function. That's a terrible thing for a male to lose at such a young age, which is why I'm hoping for the best.

I actually do not know where to post this. But I believe I can get the needed traffic and advice here.

Yesterday I read with Sadness, tears and pains about the gruesome murder of a security man by two dogs. Up till this moment, I haven't been myself due to the experiences I've had and the psychological impact of the death of that security guard.

Here is a Brief Experience.

The house I live has no borehole or any source of water. I and other immediate neighbors who occupy same building would go to our neighbors houses to fetch water everyday.
There are three neighbors who have boreholes, say Neighbor A, B and C.
Neighbor A only allows others to fetch water on Saturdays and Wednesdays. Aside these days you won't get water. You can't even go into her compound. She has a tap outside her building where we fetch whenever she puts it ON. On these two days, there must be Power(NEPA light). If there's no power, forget it.

Neighbor B is a pastor who has His church in his Residential Building. If u must enjoy fetching water here, u must be a member of his church, else you won't be given water when there's no light. Anyone can be allowed to fetch if and when there's light, but as soon as light goes off, don't go there except you are a member.

Neighbor C has two heavy dogs(Rottweilers). This is the house I fetch most, cos of my cordial relationship with the owners of the house. When these dogs were brought home, they were just puppies and I was familiar with them, but as they grew older, they became extremely violent. One is Smart, the other is Bella. Bella is female while Smart is Male. Bella is so aggressive. She torments anyone who enters the compound. Neighbors don't go in. Despite the fact that they are caged, they sometimes break out and attack when they hear a stranger's voice in the compound. There was a day these dragons broke out of the cage and before I could realize it, that had come close to me. I had to make a very fast decision, If I had ran to escape through the Gates, they would catch up with me. Thank God, the Tap is very close to the fence of the building. A very tall fence like that of Prison's fence. I had to jump over, even as I was jumping, they almost caught up with my legs. I didn't land properly so I had a dislocation and sustained some bruises.
On a second encounter, they broke out and attacked. I had to climb the overhead water tank to hang in there.
The last one was when I went to fetch water while I was putting on a towel. They attacked again, and I jumped the fence. The towel pulled off my waist and I was naked. I had to quickly run into the room of a neighbor whose house is closer to the fence to cover myself. I felt so embarrassed.
These dogs had already bitten off the penis of a 12 year old boy.
Any cock or hen that innocently strolls into that compound is a goner. The dogs attack the fowl, kill it and eat it. They even jump at a flying Bird and catch, kill and eat.

The dogs almost ate a baby of almost two years if not for the timely intervention of someone. I was told that some dog owners give their dogs ogogoro and weed to take so they can be harsh.
We all must be careful when visiting houses with Dogs. Please.
Thanks for reading.
🤣🤣🤣 this your story is a bit sensational, however if true, I’m sorry for your sad experience with dogs.

However I also own a Rottweiler and coincidentally it’s a female I also named Bella, she is just 5yrs old and indeed they are very territorial.

Has a dog owner you need to be careful how you handle this large breed because they could cause grievous harm and land you in trouble, I have even stopped taking mine for a walk along time now because she could get very aggressive to strangers and it’s quite embarrassing sometimes.

But however you can’t take away the security it provides in a country were security is still a challenge and they very good in securing your home against burglars or intruders.

Dogs are wild animals o
Especially the guard dogs
Heard of a story last Xmas season that some people traveled and left the dogs in their cage unrestrained but been fed once every 2 days
Na so some burglars enter house at night
The dogs allowed them break in before attacking the 3 guys
The guys kept jumping on tables n chairs but the dogs kept attacking
One guy eventually climbed the 7 foot refrigerator and stayed there but unfortunately the dogs killed the remaining 2 guys.
This guy on the fridge stayed there till day break shouting but no body dared come to help
He used his phone to call police after the second day.
Even police tell am to stay put till the owner of the house is contacted
Guy man eventually spent 3 days on top of fridge when the dog feeder n police came to both rescue n arrest him
The guy said he prefers to be in police custody that to be eaten by those dogs having seen what hey did to his colleagues

Dogs are wild animals waiting to unleash the dragon in them 😃😃😃

Lol, you know what came to my mind, like the dog caused so much harm to someone and the owners of the dogs have not taken measures to stop the excesses of these dogs. Like what did the parents of this child even do. Cause, omo, I just don't know what the parents of those children did. I will even like if the guy can share about that

I'm so surprised that the dogs are still alive. He should tell us what justice was done for the boy.

Honestly you're smart. I didn't want to make nairalanders feel I'm a weakling. The dog almost ate my little baby of almost two years. Na just God help us dat day. Do u know that whenever those dogs try to bite people, and they manage to escape, the owners will be laughing at them.

As for the 12yrs old boy whose penis was bitten off, na my neighbor

Dogs are not smart killers like lions or tigers, people fear them too much, that is why they inflict serious injuries on their victims.

There was this Ghanian man whose neighbour Rottwella attacked in our area back then. It was a very big dreadful dog that everyone afraid to come near, but this man was so calm and luckly found a 2 by 2 rod near by in the compound and defend himself. He eventually broke the head of this dog, while sustained a minor injury from the bite. The dog die same evening.

I don't have funds to be buying water everyday. A 20litre of bore hole water from Mai ruwa is 100 naira. I will flush, wash, and cook. How many can I buy everyday?

It still doesn't explain why you kept going back there, even after being viciously attacked by the dogs the first time.

From the above if the story is true the most wicked person is Neighbour B who will not allow people to fetch water unless they are member of his church or intend to be. Why go to a house where there is dog ? They are kid for pepper soup..
Your landlord should provide water or alternate source.

As owner of hybreed dogs for several years, I can say that many dogs don't attack unless provoked. I once had a very intelligent Rot, that people feared, but I noticed that, except when he felt threatened or provoked, he doesn't go beyond its territory.
I believe dogs mark territory for themselves and don't like intruders going into their territory.
However, I also discovered that aging dogs behave irrationally, and they angered fast. So what I do when I notice the irrational behavior, I either give them out or kill (the killing is not easy, because of emotional attachment).
Also, I don't bring strange dogs to my compound, nor Introduce new persons to my household easily. Dogs behave differently with strangers.
My dogs play football with my kids, the enjoy jumping at me, play with me as well, but they snapped at strangers.
The incident that killed the night guard was pathetic. The owner will be crucified for a crime, he has no control over. A family has lost a soul.
Dogs are friendly, dogs are loyal. They have saved many lives, protected many homes and defended several people from evil people.

I can't stand wild dogs.

masterfactor:
When I said dog are wild animal, a lot of people insulted me. I don't go to house that has dog in it. My first criteria when looking for a house to rent is, if a dog is present in that house, that house is not for me.
I went to a friend's house, he did not tell me they had dog in the compound and i did not know, i entered the compound, upon the dog sighting me, if you see the way this dog came at me, It was as if i was in NAGEO WILD, i was so scared, i had to run for my life, my saving grace was that i was very close to the gate, in my attempt to run my leg hit the gate and suffer a lot of bruises on my leg. I had to take medication for days. Dog are wild animal.

That sounds like an incredibly stressful situation. I’ve had my own close calls with aggressive dogs, and it really makes you rethink how safe you are when you're just going about your day. It might be a good idea to have a chat with the dog owners about the risk those dogs pose—not just for you, but for everyone around. I’ve found that sometimes people don’t realize how dangerous their pets can be until something serious happens.

I only state my own observation with dogs. It may help or not.
About provocation, it's not uncommon for you to see people trying to play with a dog they are not familiar with. Some even try to feed them, thinking they can get familiar with them. It's not advisable. I don't go close dogs that I am not familiar with irrespective of closeness to the owner.

The incident happened at night and there are circumstances that as owners you can't control. The owner may even be in bed without knowing that the dogs are outside his compound.
