In 2016, I won't lie, I was in support of trump winning, and the underlying motivations were:
1. I believed that trump would stop US involvement in the middle east, to stop killing Muslims.
2. I believed trump would punish gay people or reverse gay marriage rights in the US.

I was 19, and my thoughts on these were based of my religious beliefs at the time. I also considered myself a "moderate" Northern Muslim.

Among the 2 reasons given, I cared about number 2 more than 1. Why was I homophobic?

Why did I care what people did in private?
Religious rational was, that if it's allowed then there will be sometype of vague corruption in the world. What was this corruption? I don't know, I didn't think that far.
And also That God would get angry and punish us with natural disasters and other vague punishments like bad government and economy, if allowed.

I went to one of the top high schools in the US.
I thought I knew everything and no one could tell me anything.
