SUPERPACK:Check cedagro, solokad or any other reputable vendor online pls... questions like this are why I don't wish to create a thread(you haven't detailed the crop you want it for as there are various specifications)...it's about a 1000- 1500 per tray...try researching about planting mediums too o, b4 someone will come back and say " I used only cocopeat and my plants are stagnant" Make Una dey try do research b4 asking, and even when you don't get response, don't feel ahead of yourself, there are loads of times farmers here haven't responded to my messages or calls, I count it all joy and move on as I also know amount of times I am too busy to respond to calls and messages and will forget about messages cuz there is a lot to tackle IF YOU WANT TO BE SPOONFED EVERYTHING, GET A VERY GOOD CONSULTANT AND PAY...EVEN YOUR GOVERNMENT SCHOOL ISN'T FREE |

ideepaul:I have farmed for some years now even quite young, but a minimum of 75 percent of data burning is farming content(webinars, podcasts, threads and research papers) and that won't stop me from involving an expert on paid terms when I intend to step into fields I am not familiar with! Some of us here are willing to lose millions rather than pay for knowledge, someone will be asking which crop is profitable and how to do it! Seriously? Even a mechanic won't show you his secrets even if you paid him. I am currently doing a veges, but even that yam, cassava, maize, sweet potato, cash crops and the rest is what I am planning to do... everything crop is profitable WHEN YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING Stop being lazy! I know you will not love this message, but 5 years later, you will be telling the inexperienced the same thing 2 Likes |

stifej:If it was reddish, I would have said it's potassium chloride, this brown looking item doesn't look crystalline from the pics I am seeing! And why isn't it bagged or was it sold in a retailed quantities for you and how much did you buy it for?...cuz the only idea that comes through my head will that this is a low grade potassium nitrate and/or e hard to talk o |

Re: My Cucumber Farm Dairy by emmaachile2(m): 8:18am On Nov 09, 2024 |
opes:That's true but how many farmers know this? They all go for one popular brand which is not even half the production/quality of Mydas. A well raised mydas will give more than 35 fruits per plant but they won't agree. I once posted I got above 40 fruits per plant but they thought I was lying. Maybe you will tell them your current experience with Mydas. They only close alternatives I see are Darina f1 and other parthenocarpic variety. If mydas enters many markets, all other cucumbers must wait for it to sell out. Rijk Zwaan is not an ordinary company. Their pepper seed mawenzili is compared to super habanero but I don't have the raw data but I still believe mawenzili will beat it hands down as someone said he got about 6kg per plant which I even consider mild. A well fed mawenzili could take up to a year of harvest because it's adapted for long production cycle. A 4000 plant mawenzili farm was harvesting 1,000kg of fruit weekly. You can imagine if you harvest like that for 8 months! A redjet Rz f1 farm of about 380 plants was harvesting almost 180kg of pepper weekly. The seed companies I consider close alternatives are Bayer and Syngenta. 2 Likes 2 Shares |

emmaachile2:Sometimes you know the best variety but your market is selective and hence, you stick to what works to avoid marketing challenges.... Dark green cucumber doesn't sell in some states Same with the other crops, highly selective and delicate markets affect what you decide to grow even if it doesn't give the highest yield I am going to try Jarrah for the dry seasons...any tips or inputs would be greatly appreciated sir as this is a giant leap for me |
Re: My Cucumber Farm Dairy by emmaachile2(m): 11:11am On Nov 24, 2024 |
ideepaul:There are better alternatives to jarrah if you have not bought the seed. Where is your location? |
Re: My Cucumber Farm Dairy by ideepaul: 12:20pm On Nov 24, 2024 |
emmaachile2: Akwa Ibom... normally we do cobra F1 and I would like to try out something else that's not EWS platinum for the dry season targeting early April ripening and heat stress/sunscald is a major worry Also I haven't gotten the seeds yet |
