IfnobeGod20: How did they manipulate it to favour tinubu? I thought we have gone past this? All evidences shows that despite the slight infractions, tinubu was still going to win... As for Edo ,it was always clear that Okpebholo was going to win. Talking of manipulation, Mbah is doing well in Enugu, umo Eno in akwa ibom, muftwang in plateau etc |

senatordave1:Which of the slightly infraction? Manipulating whole states election to favour him is what you're referring to a slight I fraction. If we have to buy such idea that it was a slight infraction, should votes of any state be manipulated to favour anyone or party? Kenya presidential election was annulled because their electoral body didn't follow their guidelines while the incumbent president won outrightly but their supreme court said the election ran against the electoral laws. My brother, I am not from Edo and I wasn't there during the election. I made my submission on manipulation based on the news from Edo people, the observers and some results posted on IREVs. Meanwhile, all the states you listed, aside from Enugu that was manipulated to favour PDP, Akwa Ibom and Plateau states were won outrightly. On the issue of Plateau state even the petitioner didn't say PDP didn't win but they were concern about their state congress, claiming the state doesn't have a legal executive to field candidates and the supreme court said, they lied that they have because they complied with the judgement of the court while that of Akwa Ibom, it wasn't contestable Pastor Eno won convincingly. Let me repeat this. A stolen grape will always go sour no matter how good and ripe it may be. Anyone that steals people mandate, will continue to struggle with it. Law of karma. |

They deceived the people with the campaign of Homeboy (only people who resides in Edo) and accused those who got appointments and reside in Lagos etc but APC governor Select Monday's first appointment after stealing PDP/Asue Ighodalo mandate is someone from Abuja who doesn't reside in Edo and a strong critic of Tinubu 🤣🤣🤣. Many APC members in Edo has laboured in vain. Those decampees who collected money to decamp will remain where they are, back seat 😛 1 Like |

IfnobeGod20: Yes the result of rivers was manipulated but it was not enough to affect the final outcome. Our supreme court has been consistent since 1960 that for elections to be nullified firstly it must be proven polling unit by unit that there was massive manipulation and secondly that these manipulations affected the final outcome or figure. You cannot cancel an election because of a few incidences of rigging like in Kenya. Our laws and societies are different. If you start cancelling be ause if infractions, you will cancel every poll. besides all statistics shows that tinubu still won or was on his way unassailably.let us bury that issue. Which Edo people? An average edo individual is not happy with Obaseki to start with. If you know Edo well, you will know they are strong willed. You cannot rig there, their land abhors rigging.how can you base your summation on a few results from irev instead of all or almost all results? Civichive collated the irev results which still shows APC winning, check their site... For plateau, the governor rigged in his Mangu LGA.i wasn't talking about the non compliance of the delegate primaries. But if we must go with that judgment, the appeal court clearly dissected the issues conclusively. They partially complied with the ruling. The supreme court used technicality to overturn that ruling on the guise that it is non justiciable without looking at the merit. For akwa ibom, that is part of my catchment area. OBA won the election under ypp,he was the most popular candidate. Umo Eno is unknown. Same thing happened in Taraba |

senatordave1:2023 presidential election was massively manipulated in virtually all states of the federation and not only Rivers state. Rivers, Benue and Plateau states were only obvious. There were heavy suppression and manipulation of votes in many states including Lagos. There are places that electorates were disenfranchised and voting didn't take place there but our almighty INEC adhoc staff joyfully announced results there and there are some places that results were utterly suppressed in favour of other parties. No nation developed without following their own laws, rules and constitution. The electoral act says there are three conditions that can void election if conducted. They are: 1. Not abiding by the constitution 2. Not following the electoral act 3. Not abiding by the INEC guidelines and manual Many at times if not all the judgements ran foul of these three elements and we our nation to grow. We cannot be overlooking details and say we are law abiding country. If it will take the nation hundred of elections to get things right and also make examples of those undermining our elections. These have been our problems. Let those undermining our elections be punished for it and let the rule of the game be followed to the last letter. With that people will circumspect anytime they wish to do contrary to the law guiding election. This is why I said our judiciary are the one helping to kill this nation for wilfully overlooking so many details that should have helped the country. Look at it, since Kenya's supreme court annulled their presidential election, do their electoral body try to undermine any process of the election? There are so many rulings of the supreme court that ran foul of any known law of the land. Like the ruling on the naira design and ruling of local government autonomy. Yes, the rulings may look good but can we trace any of our laws that support those supreme court rulings. Supreme court are meant to interpret laws and not formulate laws when there are definite laws on those issues. Besides, just I had said, I am not from Edo neither do I voted in their last gubernatorial election but with all we read, heard and seen on IREVs, the results were heavily manipulated to favour one party. On the issue of Plateau state. The trial and appeal courts erred in law and it was clearly stated in the supreme court ruling, as they submitted that the PDP complied adequately with the SHC order for a news congress to be conducted for the state executive election. The ruling is still on the net, you can go and read it. On the part of Akwa Ibom, you're just making up issue where there is none. PDP won outrightly there and there is no controversy about that. You claimed Pst. Eno wasn't known but you forgot he was a commissioner under the past governor. How you came up that nobody know him is very much surprising. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&opi=89978449&url=https://akwaibomstate.gov.ng/executive-council/pastor-umo-eno/&ved=2ahUKEwijiK-sg9WJAxXkQkEAHTvYNsMQFnoECBQQAQ&usg=AOvVaw0C5tJWGlNCtoGptJL3m-5g Meanwhile, always try to say what you know. Edo state was known before to be a land where Mr. Fix it always have his way. Whoever he wants always emerged victorious in any election. It was the same pattern that got Oshiomhole schemed out, until he regained it through court. Anini the Mr. Fix it was the one fixing who to be who then in Edo and all elections not favourable are rigged for his candidates. I saw a comment of pseudaria complaining that his own polling unit was rigged because what the unit scores wasn't what appeal after the collation but you went attacking him. Point of emphasis, he wasn't the only one that complained of the same scenario. The nation cannot grow with the way you always view issue, you had to even shout him down for saying what he experienced at his polling unit. Trying cowing everyone to submission is the greatest undoing of this country. |

IfnobeGod20: Massively manipulated yet obi only brought clear proofs from rivers and benue alone? Didn't you see manipulations in small scales in americal polls? Apart from those states, which states did you think obi won that he lost? All opinion polls showed a tight race in Lagos and the elections proved it...this judicial system of election is what we have been using even from colonial times and when Nigeria was less corrupt. Rigging is caused by politicians who pressure inec not inec themselves. No matter the reforms, politicians will always find a way. But since 2011, each election cycle has been better than the other...before 2015 elections was rigged even before voting but with the introduction of card readers, they moved to vote buying and collation points. Even obi and atiku agreed that election was mainly free and fair, that the issue was from transmission... The ruling of the naira swap was not illegal sir, cbn went contrary to the cbn act. Besides, the law gives the apex court the powers to interpret the law in such a way that will favour the nation and people. The overarching import of the law is for the well-being of the people not against it. This happens in every developed nation. The apex court is a court of public policy. 95% of Nigerians were against the emefiele policy and the court rightly followed suit. What the court says is law and final... From what I read, the Edo polls was free and fair. All you read are from pdp apologists. Asue was never going to win. Even Akpata has extricated himself. Edo was never rigged by Anenih until 2007 and oshiomhole got it back to show you that it was not prone to rigging. So because there was no controversy it means the election was free and fair? So you judge elections based on controversy and complaints? You gauge things based on social mefia.Oba is a grassrooted politician heavily loved like Akpabio. Nobody knew eno. How many commissioners do you know in your state? Before the polls, obaseki already started controversy. It is not about controversy, follow the pulse of the people and the pattern of voting... Oga, the apex court in plateau never ruled on the merit of the case. Pdp only conducted a partial primary. If you follow the hearings and arguments between the lawyers, you will see that even the apex court agreed that pdp erred in law. The apex court sitting as an election tribunal had no power to overturn a pre election ruling, they were bound by it |
Re: Edo Gov-Elect, Okpebholo Makes First Appointment by IfnobeGod20: 9:31pm On Nov 12 |
senatordave1:I don't always like arguing blindly. Below is an extract from the supreme court judgement on plateau state gubernatorial election. This is what the justice of the supreme court said about PDP truly complied with the PSHC ruling. He said, there is an evidence that shows that PDP complied with the order of the PSHC as you will read from the extract. "But the Supreme Court justice said the order of the High Court had nothing to do with the party’s power to conduct a primary election, as it did to nominate Governor Mutfwang as its candidate for the governorship election. The justice ruled that despite that, there is evidence showing that the order of the Plateau State High Court was complied with by the party. “Can the tribunal and the Court of Appeal determine the validity of the nomination of a candidate? The justice asked. The order of the High Court of Plateau State had nothing to do with power of the NEC of the PDP; it is a jurisdictional matter, the justice added. “The legal profession should wake up,” Mr Agim said, indicating his worry about the shallowness of a trend of legal arguments raised by lawyers and get upheld by courts. For the reasons given, the judge said, “this appeal is allowed.” https://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/658319-supreme-court-affirms-plateau-governors-election-after-reversing-his-sack-by-appeal-court.html?tztc=1 Meanwhile, me and you have been arguing about this issue of manipulation and suppression of votes in the 2023 Presidential election for long, as you have been holding on to your gun as I do but forgotten that Obi petitions were on 21 states. The news is here. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&opi=89978449&url=https://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/589557-presidential-election-peter-obi-disputes-inec-results-in-21-states-full-list.html&ved=2ahUKEwizzYGiyNeJAxXUR0EAHQlHN1wQFnoECBcQAQ&usg=AOvVaw0a9xkuEGB5bD0kqdpHlzzB Out of the 21, he included even three states he won. The states are Rivers, Lagos, Taraba, Benue, Adamawa, Imo, Bauchi, Borno, Kaduna, and Plateau states. The rest are Ekiti, Oyo, Ondo, Taraba, Osun, Kano, Katsina, Kwara, Gombe, Yobe and Niger. Obi claim was that the "poll was marred by various forms of corrupt practices, overvoting, votes suppression and non-compliance with the provision of the Electoral Act in various states". You will read all this in the link above. The claims of the justice was that Obi didn't spell out the discrepancies and tabulate his score to show he won the election but only submitted the CTC in the court. Aside the 2007 that was the worst election in Nigeria. The 2023 election came second in a roll. It was heavily manipulated as votes were manufactured, votes were suppressed and were technically rigged in connivance with the INEC staff and police and it was sanctioned by the judiciary. The ruling on naira redesign was much illegal, as nothing concern CBN with monetary policy. It is sole duty of the CBN to determine that. The constitution empowers CBN to determine anything that has to do with monetary policy and not the court. They even went ahead to determine when the old notes will expired. Please which section of the CBN act or constitution empowers court to determine that? Meanwhile, are you aware that Tinubu's government want to use back door to do the same policy that he vehemently rejected because of election. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&opi=89978449&url=https://punchng.com/rep-faults-cbn-over-validity-of-old-new-naira-notes/&ved=2ahUKEwjnzt6VzteJAxW4VEEAHRi-KzAQFnoECBQQAQ&usg=AOvVaw1DWRYxvdK9-HMggRoSl1ym Instead of them to come straight, they want to go through the back door. The CBN is now complaining that the volume of money in the bank is small and they are looking for well of mopping the money but it was too late for them, as they were myopic about the reasons adduced to by Buhari's government then. One of my oga would always say, e gbe koto ota mo ni won (dig gently your enemy pit), you may be the one that will fall into it. They have already fallen into the pit but using style. Please how did you know that 95% were against Emefiele's policy? Those that are against the policy are Tinubu's supporters and those that doesn't see beyond their nose. In this jet age, some people still giving favour to moving cash about. No developed nation carry cash about again. They are into cashless policy but because of election, Tinubu and his gang killed the policy that should have helped the nation by now. Thankfully we are in it together today. What do you expect to read as a supporter of APC? Whether good or bad so far your party won, the errors therein doesn't move you. It's just a replica of a footballer that his club won a match, the error of his players during play won't bug him, so far the match has been won. Many observers for the Edo state gubernatorial election faulted the election but you only read what APC ditched out for you. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&opi=89978449&url=https://www.vanguardngr.com/2024/09/edo-governorship-election-observers-release-damning-reports/&ved=2ahUKEwixp5uS0deJAxW0YEEAHYEsNlsQFnoECCMQAQ&usg=AOvVaw2813Fl7RcoWlhrBsKAkAon Open the link to read what many observers says about the election poll. |

IfnobeGod20: What exactly is your problem? You just write without bowing to superior opinions nor taking corrections. You claim not to argue blindly but still indulge in it... The news medium you quoted the extract from are the ones projecting their views not the judges. I thought you will post the extract if the judgment written directly by the judges... It was only the the final paragraph that you quoted from Justice Agim... Besides there said there was evidence of compliance which means it could be partial not full as the lower courts discovered..... The fact of the matter is that the supreme court as a pre election court dismissed the matter without ruling thereby the appeal court ruling against pdp was live. The apex court as an election court had no jurisdiction to delve into that matter. They only had to enforce that decision..... Concerning obi matter, you still have a long way to go. You are emotional and easily swayed. You will make a very bad listener and judge. How can you just take the words of a petitioner as true without looking at the law or investigating? So because obi complained of manipulations in 21 states,it means it is true? You said the judge gave reasons for dismissing the case yet you still blindly insisted that there was manipulations? Obi submitted irev copies without comparing with inec original copies or his agents copies. He failed to call any agent to testify. The supreme court already settled the irev status in Osun polls. Obi never gave any unit by unit clear cut account or tabulation of any manipulation. He called less than 30 witnesses who where mostly not at the units... Based on what me and you saw in the media, rigging was mainly in Rivers and Benue to a small extent. I have asked you before to show me full proof evidences and particulars of rigging and manipulations in other states in several units not a handful, you failed. Yet you still assume there is rigging based on social media talk and speculations. In law sir, allegations are not evidences. You cannot just speculate or assert. You must show clear proofs... You claimed 2023 was the worst ever after 2007, imagine. Obi major complaint in 2023 poll was transmission. He was ok with other aspects. In 2015, the rigging started from accreditation till final collation. You even forgot the infamous underage voters. Smart card readers failed in several areas of Nigeria and we resorted to manual accreditation. In 2023, bvas was heavily used. The main issues was pocket of intimidation in Lagos and kogi and vote buying. Obidients calculated irev results and tinubu still won. What is your problem? The insane figures we saw in the north and SS in 2015 where eliminated. How can you use failure of transmission to disqualify an entire election? You are unbelievable.. was there any inec portal in which you saw results in 2015? Why don't you read very well before responding? I told you severally that the supreme court is a court of public policy meaning there must rule according to where the public stands to benefit. They are not just a legal institution but of policy. They have the final powers of interpretation not translation. Interpretation means explaining the law and they can explain it however they feel is best suited for the country. We have several rules and types of interpretations. Don't mistake it for translation. You can consult the interpretation act. Obi and atiku at first supported the cbn policy but quickly changed stance.why? Because a generality of Nigerians were against it. Only an alien or a non Nigerian will support such an ill-timed policy.it seems you forgot so quickly how the masses suffered because your obi lost. Nigerians went through pains to get cash from either banks or POS. Getting cash was hellish. Transfer was even an issue. People struggled to get cash from filling stations, churches etc... let us even go to the threads from last year and see people's reactions. This lie alone has shown that you are a biased fellow that is not capable of objectivity. Talking about errors, there will always be errors as far as humanity is involved. Is Nigeria a developed nation that will now go cashless? Is that how other countries go cashless? A lot of areas in Nigeria do not even have strong Internet connection or banking facilities and you want to go cashless? How oga? The policy is not bad but badly executed and timed. In executing such policies, you give at least 6 months notice while you gradually mop up cash in the system and provide adequate internet penetration and banking facilities. This is common sense. Imagine you saying only APC supporters are against it... Oga,since 2007, errors in our elections are reducing. The goal is to minimize errors to the minimum not end it which is impossible anyway. I believe you saw how perfect USA election recently was... The cbn is still gradually pushing towards a cashless policy as most banks have a weekly withdrawal limit from ATM. Most banks don't even pay above 50k over the counter. It is only in POS that do above that except for company accounts. It is a gradual thing,we are getting there...you don't achieve such by fire brigade or gungho approach. Look at how telecoms firms have made Nigerians to register for their SIMS. Look at how bvn registration was achieved. What of identity cards... Finally on Edo, is there any election that the observers don't find complaints? 2020 was without scrutiny because people were happy APC lost but if you look deep, you will see a lot of errors. Irev upload was still ongoing till midnight but in this year polls, upload was done in record time. Yiaga is the biggest observer locally and their report is satisfactory. They said they detected inconsistencies in results of just three lgas and if we use the results pdp claimed from those lgas, the outcome is still the same. Action aid clearly said they were never part of the elections so they have no say... You claimed I only follow what APC dishes out to me.that is arrant nonsense. I am the best analyst here because I look at all the different views and reach a conclusion unlike you that only looks at anti APC views. You lost your credibility when you lied that only APC supporters where against the cbn policy. If you followed the election that day with an open mind, you would have noticed that APC won most units just like in 2020 where pdp won and you won't be blabbing childishly.if you had followed what pdp released and their complaints and compared it to what inec and APC release, you will know the true winner. If you had followed the campaigns well, you would expect the loser to be bitter and raised serious dusts. If pdp had won , no one will be complaining though same errors abound. Imo,kogi and bayelsa recorded worst errors yet you are blabbing about Edo. |
