To be a citizen of Israel you need DNA test to your Jewish claim. Judaism is an ethno-religious community. If you live in Israel for 3 years legally as a Muslim or Christian you can be an Israeli be naturalisation. There is nothing weird about naturalising or traising your lineage back to your country. 99% of Israelis today have DNA linked to that region including the Arab-Israelis. Even, many Palestinians have DNA linked to the region but the problem they have is that they don't recognise that the land is Jewish and no other autonomous state have been on the land besides Israel, from Abraham's rulership to David's to Netanyahu. Igbos have Jews but they failed the DNA test and are not given citizenship to live in Israel and many of those Igbos who practiced Judaism still practice it to date.
