Please house my wife, who is getting a new passport after marriage.
I did everything online while the agent we enquired about was asking for 165k for 10 years.
I paid 100k online and 4k paystack thieves.
Now, my wife has gone to the Immigration office, and they said she can't do capturing and
that they need to send her change of name for approval.
She was told it would take 2 weeks, and she has to pay 14,500, which was not stated online.
Is this true? Ikeja office.

Is it her maiden name or marriage name is on her NIN?

What names did you register the passport processing with?

Yes, it is.. we settled the NIN two weeks ago.
Are marriage name is on her NINs
Meaning we changed from e.g ADE to KOLA
Only her surname is changing e.g from ADE to KOLA for passport

Applicant Name says Mrs. OLUW**** OLUW**** KOLA

hmmm ikeja office which is Alausa offuce all the immigration officer are all theif....

Before the application.

Then she should take her files to the servicom,and get it vetted, because I believe is vetted before the capturing date.

If her details didn't drop from the NIN portal,you can't proceed with The registration with that name. If I didn't work,then we can proceed to write to the Nigerian Immigration service through mail,and know why it is yet to drop.

Make sure to get the name of any officer that tells you that from their name tag,for proper complaints.

I finally collected my passport and my children passport today from the festac passport office. If the passport is a new one, she doesn't need any change of data (COD) wahala but if renewal, oga you were supposed to pay 130k instead of 100k. 30k for COD, 100k for passport. The same process i just concluded and have collected my passport. Vetting/approval was a serious issue. You were supposed to click COD box at the point of registering and not passport renewal. If this is the case, you might have to start all over again by dashing govt the 100k just like Mr Tony or contact the servicom office for further consultation.

You might be right; u might be wrong.
If you go to https://immigration.gov.ng/learn-more/, change due to marriage does not incur 30k, and it changes due to an error that attracts 30k.
From what I know, I filled out the form well, and it highlighted the surname, which was the area for change because NIN carried the changes.
The app form clearly stated. Applying For -- Re-issue - Standard Passport and not renewal because her passport doesn't expire until 4 years' time because she just did renewal last year. To cut the long story short she paid the 14k, did capturing and was told to come collect her passport in 2weeks time. It was becoz she requested they allow her capture now because she needed the passport urgently instead of coming back d regular two weeks for capturing, which they agreed (but was told wasn't the procedure), and they showed her on the system that the new name is yet to reflect on their system and that it needs Abuja clearance (Which I doubt). she was told the files are going to Abuja that another department handles it (she had to submit hard copies of documents again besides the one uploaded and my own passport data page).
When she came back home and narrated the story, I went on Twitter and saw ppl commenting under their page that they were stuck because they didn't pay.

My question is by next year, will they start asking for a fee for not collecting during year of capture or it's whenever you're around, you just go over to pick up ?

No,she won't be fined. Once she has gotten a text that her passport is ready,she can breeze in and pickup anytime she is chanced to do that.

I have successfully collected my passport without any hiccups. I did my capturing on 19th September at the Benin City office. Since then, I have been tracking it online, and last week I saw that it was ready for collection. I wasted no time and traveled to Benin today to collect it, to avoid any potential issues.

Total duration: Approximately 11 weeks (79 days).

You should count from the date of capture till pick up(weekends exclusive,as it is not a working days). Total should be around six working weeks.

Nope,take it to the Servicom unit for further assistance, remember the service is free. Do not part with any money. If the fail to assist you,report back here immediately.

Register at the NIS website,upload the necessary documents.

Go for capturing with the originals of the needed documents,and wait for collection.

Since July I capture for auchi office , nothing till now

Good day folks. I applied for the ECOWAS International passport about 8 weeks ago and was asked to come next week for collection, but before then i had two other passport the last one expired in 2011 but i misplaced the one i had before this very last one, all these was before the introduction of the E-Passport passport. Furthermore, I had ask the lady if my case was renewal or fresh application and she told me since i had never applied for the E-passport before, it was more or less a case of fresh application. I even sent the data page of the old passport to her for confirmation. She called me yesterday that since i misplaced the penultimate one before the last one which expired in 2011, this one will not be issued that it was a case of lost passport which i failed to report. I am confused since the last one i procured is still with me.

Note: This is my first time of applying for the ECOWAS Passport. Please i need your input/advice on the way forward.

I keep wondering too. I sent the data page of the last passport to her she kept insisting I should produce the data page of the one I had before that very one, why? what for?
