Sleekfingers: A very good question to some of our known educated illiterates in Nigeria. This reminds of my Mother In-Law then,a Powerful Woman Market Leader, although couldn't read nor write but understand Yoruba language and all the Politics intricacies! She used to say it to us then' I do enter any governor' s Office, without restraint and get what I want ' and this is a big lesson to those who think that going to School alone- without Characters and Connections, will give them the Grassroots Mobilization! -All are important - School, Organisation of men and materials,Characters, Mobilization of the People and Closing to the Grassroots Needs-are key in Political emancipation and development. 1 Like 1 Share |

[quote author=wonder233 post=133017009]Still the same basic populism - deify the Oba, win the support of the people of Edo South. Do a few white elephant projects, invest heavily in PR... 2years is gone. Then in the 3rd and 4th year, abandon governance and invest heavily in re-election campaign. [/quote YOU GOT IT. THIS IS STRICTLY OUT OF OSHIOMHOLE 1.0 1 Like 1 Share |

Good one. Obaseki wallahi you be real ewu infact I doubt your are originally Edo indigenes I seriously doubt it your character trait shows something is missing in your background and true origin. God bless you the new governor... |
Re: Governor Okpebholo Restores Oba Of Benin's Full Statutory Rights by ogbonti: 11:56pm On Nov 24 |
zed7: Obaseki is a merchant investor- he is not a career or your typical hungry politician-- Obaseki was already a dollar multi-millionaire before he contested as Edo State Governor - as long as the financial markets exist world wide- Obaseki makes money everyday - do you get it? He is like Obi, he does not need money from politics to survive!!! |

delpee: Where are the spoils of the various British invasions for centuries kept? The Burkingham Palace or the London City Museum? The popular "FESTAC' 77" Head of Queen Idia - that the British stole, where is it today? The Burkingham Palace or the London City Museum? Most British Ornaments from a thousand years ago are all in the London City Museum- that is where the UK makes tens of billions of pounds from every year from tourism -off what use will it serve IF these artefacts are kept inside the palace? how does that benefit Edo State? Mind you- the Oba gets his salary and lots of financial incentives from the state, so IF Nigeria were a working country - where will the state get the money from to pay the Oba when he does not contribute nada to the state government ? A British man once told me that 99% of the reason the UK Monarchy still exist today is because the British Royal Family brings alot of cash to Britain through tourism - If not - it would have been long scrapped - what is the Oba and other traditional rulers in Nigeria who tax payers subsidize monthly bringing to the table? what is their economic benefit to Nigeria? This is why Nigeria is poor - we keeps subsidizing BS IF traditional rulers want to keep their artefacts - preventing the state from making money from it, that is fine, then we cant pay them from tax payers money too... it's tit for tat 1 Like |

completeskills:and the people he fought has anyone come out to tell you why he fought them, it's pathetic when I see grown men repeating these lines, it appears to me like you guys can't reason for yourselves, aside the disagreement with the palace, one thing you can't please everyone especially when you are in power, when he fought oshiomhole, if obaseki was wrong why didn't oshiomhole come out and tell Edo people how he was betrayed, why hasn't any of them done the same. |

Re: Governor Okpebholo Restores Oba Of Benin's Full Statutory Rights by kedeojo(m): 7:13am On Nov 25 |
Ibrahimado:He will turn out to be the best governor Edo have. He is so humbled. If you know him personally before and he still carry same mentality. He listen and he said he doesn't have monopoly of everything and so he will identify with brains who can help his government. Obaseki would have been a fantastic governor but he wear the toga of Mr know all. Before next year ending, Edo will withness unprecedented development. He has started well. |
Re: Governor Okpebholo Restores Oba Of Benin's Full Statutory Rights by kedeojo(m): 7:18am On Nov 25 |
wonder233:That is too your weak thinking, Oshiomole has opened the eyes of Edolite and can't be decieved. For a governor who has promised three vital flyovers in his first tenure and if delivered with other important infrastructure and you will still crap this nonsense. Maybe in your state, that is how things are currently be done. Edo don't forgive a governor during voting when he has done the wrong. We used Obaseki now as a scapegoat. You can't be fighting everyone upon non performance and think you will bring a successor. |
