The children of the late Prof. Dora Akunyili and
Dr. Chike Akunyili have shared a heartfelt family
photo to mark Thanksgiving, honouring the
memory of their beloved parents.

In a post shared by Edozie John Akunyili on
social media, the family can be seen gathered
around a Thanksgiving feast, smiling and
radiating togetherness.

“Happy Thanksgiving from The Akunyilis, mum
and dad would be so proud in heaven,” Edozie
wrote.

The photo has warmed the hearts of many
Nigerians, evoking memories of the remarkable
contributions of their parents.

Prof. Dora Akunyili, a former Director General of
the National Agency for Food and Drug
Administration and Control (NAFDAC) and
Minister of Information, was renowned for her
unwavering commitment to public service,
transparency, and the fight against counterfeit
drugs in Nigeria. She passed away in 2014 after
battling cancer.

Dr. Chike Akunyili, her husband, was a respected physician and philanthropist who tragically lost his life in 2021 in a violent attack.

She's not even hyped/rated enough.

If you followed NAFDAC under Obj, then you'd know that if Nigeria had 10 of this woman in every ministry, we'd have been the best in Africa in any developmental metrics

She fine jor, exuded class and elegance, speaks eloquence and sabi dress

Asari Dokubo and his boys should be arrested and interrogated for the murder of Dr Akunyili.

With the benefits of hindsight, and taking into consideration all the killings in Imo State attributed to Asari and boys, it is time to question him for this mans murder

Unfortunately your people happened to both your illustrious parent of Nigeria. Dora cheated death as the DG of Nafdac in Anambra due to her stand on fake drugs but later lost her life. Her husband got killed when he was returning from a ceremony in same Anambra were madam Dora was given a posthumous award. What a people. May their soul keep resting in peace.
