They’ve released the outcome of the meeting on NGX also

When? I don't think so o.

I was referring to this emergency meeting on a Sunday before trading starts on Monday 02/12.

Am I missing something?

If they are willing to pay this much for this then how much would the Chinese pay for Waco? grin

Correction: it’s actually Wapco being sold for 1bn usd grin grin

Awesome!!! Thank you.

@Xidget please take note. I was going to quote you but decided against it. The market will track/chase the Chinese valuation eventually.

Also, transaction will be completed in 2025. We know how these things drag on forever before regulatory approval is received. The mandatory takeover might not happen until late 2025 (at the earliest) or early 2026.

The market is generally not stupid. The mandatory takeover price can't be less than what the chinese are paying now (current valuation + premium). They will still have to propose an offer when that time comes but I reckon this news will sustain the market SP regardless of financial results between now and then.

Disclaimer - I made no reference to any target price o. Oh no! Did I? This is not a recommendation to buy or sell. DYOR or consult your investment adviser.

Yes, this is what the person that gave me the initial gist said. Due to their secretive nature, it’s something they will most likely delist. I hope they won’t come and give us a low offer though

That's the fear. They refused telling us anything about PRICE

Last part says they'd apply for mandatory take over. Isn't that effectively tantamount to delisting?

in the interim, yes.
Then what about the MTO on the letter?

They will, eventually.

Good stuff, but this intro wasn't necessary na. You don't have to put others down to climb up. A man's gifts will make way for him.

Why are you rambling? Is it that you don’t know how to analyze financials, or are you just emotionally blabbing? Let me analyze it for you and show you how it’s done.

Were thinking very similarly grin. The profit I’ve been calculating in my head last few weeks was working with N80 as the offer. If I can get another 10-15% on top of that I am very happy getting down at that bus stop

Fidson is one of the worst performing stocks of 2024.

It is stagnant.
It has a lot of potentials. It's not a bad one for a patient investor

By the rules of MTO, if you are able to push the price up to 200, they will have no choice but to offer the said 200 or more.
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by ositadima1(m): 12:48pm On Dec 01
So, what’s your verdict? Is WAPCO a buy at this point, or when will it no longer be a safe bet?

All this back and forth seems like an attempt to show off that you’ve been in it—so what?

I also have WAPCO, so what’s the point in boasting about tripling my investment to people who don’t have it?

shocked shocked shocked

Is there a possibility that the new owners could flood the market with high offers to crash the price only to prevent a MTO at a higher price than expected or to manipulate the exit price?

It is possible if naira losses value against dollar. The current purchase price is about $0.065 per share

They will need permission from the regulators, I don't think that is possible

Once the 83+% share acquisition is approved, the intend doing a mandatory takeover (Delisting).

The stock will rally upward this week. ₦75 per share is sure this week
