Addressing groups "wrongly" in some communities in the US has landed some people in hotwater ... especially if you are not white.

There is a reason why intros are pronoun specific especially in some states, I.e "He,Him, His or She, hers, her or They, them, theirs"


Now I don't know about the pastor in question, but I know about getting invited for questioning or interview by law enforcement (for instigating a hate speech) about not using the right pronouns to address someone especially if a crowd of people are gathered... this is also inclusive in the army... this I have experienced at a university in Virginia.
