Actually there is no need for this airport project at this time. The Imo State airport is just next door. Building a rail line from Imo to Abia makes more sense. That way, anyone that lands at the airport can use the rail and quickly land at Aba. It can also help Imo State people who want to buy from Aba. Aba was built as the commercial nerve center of the old Imo State. All these individualistic projects being built at great costs, hamper the ability of the government to do other more needed projects like schools, housing, big industries etc. 2 Likes |

The same way Umahi built Airport in Ebonyi. The airport now is obsolete, has no economic impact on the state. Crazy governors 1 Like |

If you follow my posts, you will notice that I continue to emphasize illiteracy and high population as fuel for corruption. Because very few of these people want to take bribes from the government, they are exploiting the illiterates and relying on a large number of poor people to cause havoc. Just imagine. They are complaining about underdevelopment, and their governor wants to build an airport for them. The community with the airport will grow faster, but they did not anticipate this. Why? They are illiterates. They allowed a few people who can manipulate them to inform them that they are losing their jobs. which jobs? the jobs they had already abandoned. Mehn! Illiteracy is a disease. It is backwardness. |

PulaPower: It's not about money. Govt have grabbed their lands before and failed to develop projects on them. This one now, they didn't discuss with them and just want to start another land grabbing. That airport project won't work. FG wanted to build an airstrip for the Naval base in that local govt and Otti wans to turn the whole thing into a full airport with support from the state govt. These are the issues. More so, they mustn't cite it in a particular community, they can take it to the next community. |

Why building a new airport, when there is airport in Imo State,River State Enugu State Calaba, etc.; is that not a misplaced priority? use that money to build more industries that will employ people, that is called productivity. Elex Otti should know better. #Release#Mazi Nnamdi Kanu #Now |

Nigeria is just map out land mass with sub-geolocation for whoever graps and rule/control the wealth the way s/he wants. Nothing really is united/organized to be called a normal sovereign country, about Nigeria. Is it neighboring state goverors that won't agree to work together on ordinary inter-state road construction and maintainance, and other minor institutions co-funding, that will facilitate ultramodel projects like inter-state rails? michlins: |

Another vanity project. Ebonyi airport is lying in fallow after billions was sunk into it. What is Abia going to do with an airport when Owerri, PH, Uyo, and Calabar airports are all around it? Misplaced priority |

Re: Abia Communities Protest Over Proposed Airport Site by Judgesledge(m): 11:36am On Dec 03, 2024 |
CJStarz:ABA is what it is, not because of Ngwa people, but because of it's location and value to the British colonial administration, and Abia state is fortunate to benefit from that legacy. It is therefore unfortunate that this should be used as discriminatory bragging rights, instead of further enhancing it's capacity to maximize the potentials in other parts of the state and Nigeria |
Re: Abia Communities Protest Over Proposed Airport Site by Freebills12: 3:17pm On Dec 03, 2024 |
Air port in Abia state? From Aba to Owerri is not up to 1hr 15 minutes. Otti channel this money to Ariri main market. Better still cite an industry within that Aba region. Air port in Abia state for now is a misplaced priority. |
Re: Abia Communities Protest Over Proposed Airport Site by YesNoMaybe: 7:48pm On Dec 03, 2024 |
CJStarz: The immediate past governor was an Ngwaman and he did NOTHING for his people....oh sorry - he built one flyover in eight years. Please start from there and you might see who looked down on you. |
Re: Abia Communities Protest Over Proposed Airport Site by CJStarz: 4:55am On Dec 04, 2024 |
YesNoMaybe:Prior to Okezie's assumption of office, U non indigenes, especially the Ogboo people that left their hinterlands to come settle in Aba, have always looked down on Ngwa people who in their open heartedness and kind nature, sold their lands to you guys and also accommodated them, hence they enjoyed the freedom to trade unlike how the Ikwerres are dealing with non indigenes in Port Harcourt. Okezie Ikpeazu must not have been a perfect person but he did much more than T. A Orji, who did absolutely nothing for Aba , yet you guys never mention him! Okezie Ikpeazu laid d foundation for a modern day Aba looks. He constructed most of the roads you see in Aba. Whatever this current governor is doing is leveraging on what Okezie had done. Okezie constructed and rehabilitated many hitherto bad roads in Aba.... Osusu road, Ukaegbu road, Omuma road, Brass to Ariaria end, check out the beauty of that Brass junction, Ngwa road, Ariaria shopping malls, etc, yet this government of propaganda would never see the good done by Okezie. He did lots in Umuahia too. It's on record that he constructed a beautiful flyover, doesn't matter how long it took him but the glaring truth which you would never accept is that, he was the first person to construct one! Show me any constructed by OUK or TA, people you idolize. His major failure was in areas of non payment of workers salaries. What's the difference now? Are Abia workers very happy now? Are they enjoying the new minimum wage? What about those sacked out of vendetta? Stop looking down on people so blessed by God. The topography of Ngwa land shows God really loves these guys..... Flat arable land. Most people who migrate to Aba prosper, which doesn't happen in your Igbere, Uzuakoli or Umuahia. I am not an Ngwa man. I am core Anambra. But I say the truth as it is! U can't curse those who God has blessed |

CJStarz: As For Topography and Soil.. Aba Comes first in Nigeria Black soil n Plane land ... Immediately you leave Aba to all other Eastern Lands to see absolute Nonsense.. All their lands are red,Valleys n useless hills.. In whole East only Aba is 100% best for settlement and the indegins are naturally Civilized .. No Rituals,No Drugs,No Terror etc.. That's why it has highest settlement n Population in whole South.. Something that is bad can't have such huge population.. Is because is very very Favorable.. Igbos have one Character of condemning any good thing just to look superior 1 Like |
